Week of Happiness..

I really have no idea,, How come this week is a really happy week for me..
Started with a weird cheerful day of me.. So,, that day I forgot when.. I'm pretty sure that I wasn't drunk or on high.. I felt absolutely happy all the time.. I think that was on Sunday midnight to Monday..

Monday,, I got my filter for my lens I was pretty upset 'coz what's a filter without the lens.. but then at about 03:00 am in the earlyy morning I chatted with Aji Idol and he agreed to be my guess talker in radio..

Tuesday,, I had a really nice dim sum lunch and I went shopping.. I got my sweat shirt that I'd been wanting it for only $6..!!! six bucks people..!!!

Today,, Wednesday,, I got my LENS..!!! my EF 50mm f1.8.. my brand new first lens.. my babe..!!! and my auntie came home with this huge tray full of pasta from Maggianos.. Man.. I think today was the climax of all.. I got my lenss.. Pasta lunch,, Pasta dinner.. My babe just cammeee..!!! OMG..!! I hold that lenss.. I thought it was coming on Friday.. It came today I was pretty surprise..

but then I'm afraid that one week later there will be week of sorrow.. *knock on the wood* I don't want it to happen.. I've talking about this with Baba,, I said that I'm scared if a week later will be a nightmare for.. I hope nothing is going to happen..

Anyway,, I'm waiting for something cool tommorow..!!

Ehhhhh tapi bingung juga itu bisa dibilang presentasi, alnya yang bakalan presentasiin proyek kami neh adalah supervisor..... jadi kami cuma jadi assisten aja nantinya...

Bingung deh padahal yang tau aplikasi khan kamiii...

Alasan mereka seh gara2 masalah gengsi..., ga pantes mahasiswa ngajarin dosen...

Padahal mah yang namanya belajar itu khan sah2 ajah...

Yahhh, tapi apa boleh buat....

Cuma bisa berdoa supaya supervisor bisa mempresentasikannya dengan baik.

weitz... akhirnya hari ni MoM kami nambah lagi dech jadi nya nanti bisa tebal nich laporan KP (biar acem2 nya keren d lihat orang ntar laporan tuch...) ehehehhe.... Meeting-nya tadi kira2 2 jam lah, awalnya supervisor tanya2 tentang progress tugas kami truz dengan semangat yang membara (eitz... emang api...) kami menjawabnya walopun banyak yang belum slesai eehheehhe.... karena supervisor kami tuch orangnya pengertian banget jadinya kami d kasih perpanjangan waktu dech buat ngerjain yang belum slesai jadinya Jumat deadline nya, makacih ya pak...

tluz... abiz bicara2 tentang progress, pak supervisor ngelanjutin penjelasan tentang framework nya perusahaan ini, sbenarnya sich aq bingung tapi enggeh2 aja lah ehehehe... ga kok... trus Bapak tuch kasih deadline lagi dalam waktu 2 minggu itu smua harus bisa kami slesaikan, maka na qta2 harus smangat nich...

uda slesai lah bapa tuch cerita tentang framework kan, trus d lanjutkan lagi Bapak tu cerita2 tentang pengalamannya kuliah trus pengalaman buruknya ketemu dengan orang Batam n akhirnya jadi lah rame ruang meeting tuch coz qta2 smua yang ada d dalamnya ketawa2, weitz.. seru lah tadi Bapak tuch cerita, truz Bapak tu juga banyak kasih nasehat buat kami n buat kami supaya smakin smangat lah...

Thanks ya Bapak supervisor, Bapak baik dech....

intinya, seneng banget dengan meeting hari ni tidak sperti meeting yang biasanya serius.... banget...

Holiday Shopping Ideas for Your Teen

Teenagers are arguably the hardest ones to shop for. They are going through many changes and mood swings and one is never too sure what they truly will enjoy. Especially with technology and styles changing so quickly shopping for your teenager can put you on the good or bad side very quickly. Given the difficulty of deciding on gift ideas, here are some helpful suggestions to put a smile on that hormone driven teenager.

One gift that ever teenager wants would be an MP3 Player or IPOD. Most likely the IPOD because they tends to be the "in" thing, however even phones are able to do the same trick. Surprise your teen with a new phone. Each carrier has many different options, colors, and designs. This way you serve two purposes, one a way to stay in touch and two your teen gets to enjoy listening to music. Of course it is also more cost effective to buy one phone that can play music than a phone and an IPOD.

Another piece of technology that teens will enjoy this holiday season is a portable DVD player. Of course I would not recommend this be taken to school, but on those long car rides, it would sure be nice to occupy your bored teenagers with a movie player. Or maybe you can all enjoy watching a DVD together. A little family time could never hurt.

Game systems, video games, portable gaming now belongs to children of all ages, but certainly teenagers will never refuse. These days' teens can enjoy gaming wherever they are, at home or in the car. Getting them an Xbox, WII or PS3 this holiday will definitely win you cool points with them and their friends. Video games never get old and they are making some that improve your mind, eyes and vocabulary. Learning is now fun and disguised as a video game. Of course one may argue that teens already spend enough time by themselves with their friends. Why can't we do a family activity together? Ok, there are games like "Scene It" or "Guitar Hero" that plug into your television and create some family friendly competition. Go up against your teen to see who can play the best lead guitar. You will look like the coolest parent. Plus they can always invite their friends over to play at home, rather than using your precious gas and money at the mall.

Cameras and Camcorders are another gift idea that will definitely bring a smile to your teen's face. They can take pictures or video of their family, friends and outings. Make a cool photo album or add a video to You-tube. Your teen will be creative and inventive with these gifts. Another idea to keep the creativity rolling is a new computer. Desktop or notebook computers are probably more affordable now than they ever were. Plus they come with printers or cameras. A teen in today's world should know how to use a computer, not only to type a paper or get a job, but to be inventive and creative. Did you see the commercial the kid made with his i-phone? It was amazing and featured on television. Could your teen create the next commercial or write a song? The software is out there to help. Even though the internet may not be the safest place for a teen, the computer can still provide some valuable skills.

Enough gifts for the indoors, here are some suggestions if you would want your teen to be outside. Maybe a new snowboard, wakeboard, paintball gun, skateboard, basketball hoop, softball tee, and there are many other ideas. Just choose an activity that he or she enjoys or that you can play together. It is never too late to learn a new sport with your teen.

Shopping for your teen this holiday season should now be a little easier with these helpful suggestions. Now your moody hormone ridden teen can wear a smile on their face and so can you.

Cypress and I are really happy! A week or two ago, we had an amazing hang out session with our dear friend Gloria and her amazing genius of a sister Amy who was only 11, but brilliant.

Anyway, we had all decided to go laser tagging, but due to Cypress's computer freak out we thought we lost all the pictures, however when I was looking through our photo account I noticed I actually uploaded the pics! YESSSSSSS! I love when fantastic discoveries happen.

but yeah...back on the subject of laser tagging...can I just tell you we were seriously disadvantaged! We were a team of 5 and the other two teams had like 8 or 10. Cheats! They were kicking our butts and ambushing us everywhere. Honestly, even the staff noticed because they were telling the other teams to stop ganging up on us which was uber uncool, but that was before I found put we had such a small team.

The star of the team was this guy named Daus....(Dos?) I'm not sure how to spell it, but he earned half our our entire point total! Btw...I knew Dos was gonna be cool because we both laughed when Gloria said, "I don't know how to turn myself on." hahaha...she was referring to her gear, not herself. Also, he asked if we were going in again, which was nice of him since he was stuck with a team of all girls who were bad shots (oh and some girls are really awesome at this game, we just happened not to be those girls.)

After the game was over, we left for Pokez and out to the mall to rat out and chill. The pictures of the day are below.

Boondocks!

In Draper, Utah, just south of Salt Lake City, theres a family fun park called Boondocks. There's Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Mini-Golf, LaserTag and a huge arcade. Costco sells discount unlimited passes and over the past few months we slowly collected 3 tickets and decided this last weekend would be the best time to go. We invited Rachel's sister, Bekah, to join us. We got there about 12:30 and immediately started with the bumper boats! These are pretty cool as they include water cannons on each one. So we get to bump and spray! IT was fun and got us cooled off. Bekah arrived and we went to do our first lasertag game. This was the first time we all had played the game. It was great! You put on this vest that tracks your score and lets you get shot up. THen you run around the arena where there are pillars and its all dark with blacklights so it's just a lot of fun. Even Wyatt had a total blast! We ended up playing lasertag 2 more times that day. We rode the go-karts and played some of the arcade games. There was a huge climbing/jungle gym thing where Wyatt had a total ball playing in.

We headed out at about 6:30 to get dinner and watch a movie. Rachel and I saw Get Smart and Wyatt and Bekah watched Wall-E. Get Smart was so good! It was so funny in parts we couldn't hear the following lines! Great movie, go see it! After the movie got out around 9:30, we decided to head back and play mini-golf. We did this and found we had about 15 mins until closing time at midnight. They had one final game of LaserTag starting, we rushed in there and played. It was a great time and very fun. The only negative part was when some bigger kid trampled over Wyatt and never helped him up or anything. He is ok and just got a little scratch on his forehead.

We totally enjoyed ourselves and if you are ever around and looking for a fun time and not too costly, I highly recommend the fun and enjoyment of Boondocks!

N: Nature & Nest

Yesterday my car died. It's a completely long story and I'm so aggravated. BUT, instead of going to the puppet show like we planned*, my daughter and I went nest hunting.

When we first moved to our house, my dad found a robin's nest. It was so cool. Robins use mud to keep their nests together. And here in Georgia, we've got red mud! So, the inside of robins' nests are red. The folklore is that robins get their red breast from squishing that red mud into their nest. Isn't that cool?

Well, we saved that nest for months. And I was hoping it might just have fallen off our porch and was some what intact below it. But no such luck.

Anyway, as we began our nest hunt, we talked about the letter N and our N verse. Then when I realized I wasn't going to find a nest, I remembered the next best word for outdoors and the letter N: NATURE!

I yanked the camera out of my purse and we started taking pictures of all the "nature" we could find. I just told her nature was the outdoor stuff God created.

We found all sorts of fun things including an amazing spiderweb complete with mama spider and eggs. *shudder*

So, there you go, an impromptu activity to impress your kids with...the letter N!

*my mom actually did come and pick us up so we went to a puppet show
about a dinosaur that made a NEST in a little boys closet...coincidence?!

Big Things (Learning) First

As I was packing the car yesterday, I realized that I was following the way my father packed the car He always packed the big things first and then worked the little things around the big things.

I wonder how often we pack the big ideas, the major concepts in the standard, first with students. Do we lead off the unit with telling them about the standard? Do we instruct them directly on the big ideas? Do we give them activities that clearly focus on the big ideas? Do we assess them on the big ideas?

I remember watching a teacher who did a half period introductory activity to the unit. The activity was engaging. However, it did not deal with the big ideas of the unit but with a very minor point.

Do you pack the big ideas first with your students?

My Own Vegetable Garden

I always wanted to grow my own vegetable garden. How wonderful it would be to pick tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and so much more from my own garden.

Growing a vegetable garden has its rewards:

• Save money on grocery bill
• Fresh vegetable daily
• Out door activity

Start planning what you want to grow and decide when to start planting. Then, pick out an ideal spot with plenty of sun light, and be sure to plant away from any buildings, fences or trees (some exceptions). Remove any debris from the area, fertilize, plant the seeds, and nurture the garden as it grows.

Make sure that the soil is well drained. Once everything is established you will need to keep a watchful eye for bugs, weeds, and water regularly. When watering vegetables be sure to water at the base and not the leaves, because watering the leaves could cause disease in many plants.

Creating your own vegetable garden is something to be proud of. I would like to share my garden creation with you, and hope that you will be inspired to do the same. I will post pictures and ideas right here for you to see first hand the vegetables of my labor. Please share some of your gardening tips with me!

Biyuh, ini Citos jan kebak (penuh - red.) sama menungso ...kayaknya lebih banyak menungsonya ketimbang luas lantainya .. ha ha ha ... Yang gak tahan tuh denger musik dhang dhing dhung ndak karuan dari panggung dimana Afgan main.

Dari pada bengong, saya ke aksara aja cari buku .. eh ada buku keren baru keluar berjudul Necessary Revolution karya Peter Senge yang kondang sama buku The Fifth Discipline itu. Whoa ....tanpa pikir panjang, langsung disikat aja .. apalagi punya voucher senilai cepek .. mulyono lah bayarnya gak mahal amat. Apalagi pake kartu kredit Citibank ada diskon 5% ... JRENG! Sambil nunggu Dian, gw cari tempat yang enak .. eh dapet tempat di Brew. Lengkaplah kenikmatan karena gw lagi banyak album prog yang mau direview. Asik juga ngereview sambil nenggak Caramel Affogatto kesukaan gw di Brew ini ... nyam ... nyam sambil JRENG musik Ayreon album 11100011 (embuh bener gak .. pokoke binary numbers lah ...) nendhank gendhank telinga melalui headphone Sennheiser PX100 ...nuikmattsss.... Bentar ye ... gw review dulu ye ....

Best Campfire Chef Contest in New York City?

Holy campfires! Earlier this month they had America's Best Campfire Chef contest in New York City! New York City! New York City? It should have been in the Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Finger Lakes?? This is definately NOT for a backpacking campfire - maybe for car camping.

Well, anyway. Five chefs tossed their skillets over campfires in New York City's Riverside Park for a chance to earn the title of "America's Best Campfire Chef" during the third national Redwood Creek Wines' Campfire Classic.

Melissa Mullins of New York was crowned the winner for her Blackberry Hand Pies with Jar-whipped Lavender Cream, a recipe that was inspired by a hike through a lavender field.

"What I loved most about this dish was its functionality and flavor, " one of the judges said. "Melissa's dish deliciously fused together the bright flavors of blackberries that paired beautifully with the earthy pinot noir."

Here's the recipe: Blackberry Hand Pies With Jar-Whipped Lavender Cream

Materials:
Tinfoil
Ice water
A small cooler with ice
Reusable bag
Plastic wrap
A grill that can be placed over the embers
Tongs
Small sharp knife

Preparation:
1. In summer, blackberries are out with a vengeance.
2 . Mix 2 pints of fresh blackberries with a generous pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg, 1/4cup of unbleached flour, 1/4 cup of raw sugar (for camping purposes, 1/4 cup may be roughly measured using your palm.
3 . Either prepare a basic pie crust before leaving home or purchase ready-made pie crust at your local grocery store. Both keep well if packed properly in a camp cooler.
4 . Break dough into six balls (if using homemade dough).
5 . On a piece of sprayed tinfoil, flatten and roll out each dough ball (using the empty bottle of your last wine) into a circle about 5 inches in diameter.
6 . Spoon in filling, equal amounts into each flattened piece of dough. Fold over dough to create a half-moon shape. Pinch or roll edges firmly together.
7 . Prepare a tinfoil shell for each handpie, generously spraying the foil with non-stick spray. Leave as much space as possible between the top foil and the top of the pie. This allows the pie to cook properly.
8 . Place packets carefully onto campfire grill. Make use of grill areas where the flames have died down to create hot embers. Cook for about 35-45 minutes.
9 . While waiting for the pies to cook, place whipping cream, a generous pinch of finger-ground lavender, and a tablespoon of warm honey in a jar. Tighten the lid and shake. After several minutes, the liquid will start to form into a soft whipped cream. Do not over shake, or you'll have lavender honey butter.
10. Take pies off fire. Allow them to sit for several minutes. Unwrap and serve with a dollop of lavender cream.
11. Pour a glass of Pinot Noir and enjoy!

Arrrghh...Ga Tahan Gw!!!

Begini awal ceritanya....

Kame itu dari kecil dah dikasih makan pelet, selain pelet dia dpt menu tambahan seperti daging ayam yang dah dimasak, sosis, bakso (pokoknya ngikutin makanan orang rumah). Kalo lagi baik hati gw beliin udang hidup yang bisa dia kejar2 n akhir2 ini gw kasih jangkrik, tapi ga sering. Apapun yang gw kasih, asal bentuknya daging pasti dia makan....TAPI dia ga pernah mau nyentuh sayur apapun yang gw kasih!! Padahal sayur itu baik n sangat diperlukan untuk kesehatan dia.

Akhirnya.....

Gw melakukan berbagai cara untuk ngebuat dia makan sayur.Cara pertamadengan ngasih wortel n ga dikasih yang lain...tapi karena ga kuat liat dia terus2an ngebegging buat dikasih pelet, akhirnya gw kasih pelet pas malamnya. Cara kedua gw iris tipis2 tuh sayur n gw seipin di dalam daging ayam yang gw suapin ke dia...awalnya sih dia makan tuh sayur, tapi belakangan dia jadi pinter, daging ayamnya dimakan n sayurnya dilepeh...aaarrrrggghhhhh....

Semakin banyak forum yang gw ikutin, semakin gw tau betapa perlunya sayur2an buat Red Eared Sliders. Dari sayuran itulah dia dpt vitamin A karena kura2 juga bisa kena sakit mata. Kura2 juga bisa mendapat vit D dan calcium yang baik buat cangkangnya dr sayuran tersebut. Pengetahuan ini bikin gw tambah senewen...gw dilema berat nih...binggung mesti gimana.

Kemaren gw lagi mencoba bener2 ga ngasih dia makan apapun kecuali selembar selada...pagi gw tinggalin seladanya n gw pergi kerja deh...tau ga?? Begitu gw pulang...tuh selada masih utuh!! Ada bagian2 yang gropel dikit, tapi bisa ditemukan terapung2 di air karena setelah digigit langsung dilepeh ma kame. Dan dengan liciknya, begitu liat gw pulang...dia langsung garuk2 containernya, ngikutin kemanapun gw pergi, minta2 salaman, lalu memandang dengan mata penuh harap ala kyuun sparknya chopper.Gw bener2 ga tahan liat mukanya yang penuh harap itu...gw selalu jatuh dlm perangkapnya n ngasih dia pelet. Hari ini gw selalu menghindar ngeliatin containernya, gw bertekad untuk ga mau dimanipulasi kame lagi.

(Malah beberapa minggu yang lalu, dia gw kasih kangkung, dimakan dikit2 ma dia...pas dia lagi mengigit2 kangkungnya, dia liat gw lewat dkt containernya...eh itu kangkung lansung dia lepeh n mendatangi gw dgn wajah penuh rasa lapar)

Tapi...

Semalem dia pake cara baru...gw dicuekin plek-plekan. Amit deh, ditengok juga ga!! Diminta salaman malah ngumpetin tangan lalu memandang dgn dingin gitu....kyaaa gw kan ga mau dibenci kame...tapi dia harus belajar makan sayur!!! Dasar kura2 tukang manipulasi perasaan orang!!! Aaaarghh gw ga tahan nih......

Namun bagaimanapun juga, gw harus bertahan, ini semua demi kebaikan dia, demi kesehatan dia.

Pagi ini, gw coba cara dengan ngeclip-in sayurnya jadi tuh sayur ga pindah2 dr tempatnya…eh si kame malah lebih tertarik clipnya drpd sayurnya :(

PS. Kroten kecil dah mau makan seladanya sampai habis.

Сутринта, докато пътувах за среща по някакво радио попаднах на края на интервю с Кемал Еюп, председател на КЗД. На въпрос на водещия (съжалявам, не знам кое е радиото, нито името на този младеж) г-н Еюп каза, че годишно в комисията постъпват 1-2 жалби за дискриминация на основание сексуална ориентация. На фона на изнесените 475 жалби за 2008 година това наистина е смешно малко, факт. Съответно водещият след края на включването съвсем жизнерадостно заключи, че ето видите ли, дискриминация у нас наистина няма, какво толкова протестират тези хора, но пък щом трябва да се хармонизира законодателстото, да им се позволи на гейовете да живеят като "мъж и жена". И пусна YMCA с леко подсмихване.

Първо, господинчо, те не искат да живеят като мъж и жена, а като мъж с мъж и жена с жена, и второ, липсата на жалби е адски обезпокоителна. Защото хората ги е страх да се разкрият, страх ги е да се жалват, и най-често никой не ги дскриминира, защото така и не се разбира, че са ЛГБТ. Другата раса, възрастта и пола малко трудно ще се скрият, но сексуалната ориентация много лесно минава незабелязана.

Още по-страшно от това че се крием е, че ни е страх да се оплачем, защото това ще рефлектира върху нас. Сменяме си кротко работата, фитнеса, хотела и мълчим. Обиждат ни в медиите, на улицата и пак мълчим.

В днешния брой на вестник Клутура излезе интервю с Добромир Добрев (взето от Николай Атанасов), един от организаторите на парада, активист и студент по право в НБУ.

Това е едно от най-смислените неща, които излязоха пост-парадно в медиите. Краят (все пак вижте и началото):

" - В крайна сметка какви бяха целите на тазгодишния парад и кои от тях бяха постигнати?

- Мисля, че постигнахме основните си цели. На първо място – доказахме, че ЛГБТ общността съществува и има потенциал да се развие и да бъде фактор в българския политически и икономически живот. Второ, инициативата ни подчерта недвусмислено европейската ориентация на България, независимо от желанието на някои да заприличаме на Сърбия, на Русия или на Иран. Трето, нашето шествие беше особено ценно, защото го организирахме със собствени сили и средства, с помощта на близки, приятели и съмишленици. Спекулациите, че сме използвали финансова помощ от чужбина, са погрешни. Парадът беше скромен, не приличаше на карнавалните шествия в чужбина, костваше ни много нерви и безсънни нощи, но си заслужаваше. Преди да постигнем празнична проява от западен тип, ще се наложи да се задоволим със сегашния вид „манифестации‛. Мотото на прайда „Аз и моето семейство‛ целеше да припомни, че ЛГБТ гражданите не са нещо необичайно и екзотично. Напротив, ние сме деца на своите родители, братя и сестри, братовчеди, съседи, колеги, дори родители в традиционни бракове. Ние не сме втора категория хора. Проблемите на гей българите започват не толкова от липсата на законова рамка, колкото от липсата на ефективно правоприлагане. Оттам нататък един ежегоден гей парад има за цел да покаже истинските ни лица пред българското общество като алтернатива на фолклорните стереотипи и на религиозните предразсъдъци към нас."
