Wednesday - Day 1.)

Desperate for a job, I print out 3 CV's (that's British for Resume) and take them up to the closest high street to my flat.  I hand out the first two, and continue down the street to the outside of Molly's bar, which has caught my eye numerous times on the bus rides home from Jane's.

There is a little Irish woman sweeping up and dumping ash trays outside the bar.  

"Excuse me?" I say.  "Do you know i they're hiring?"

"Yes," she says, appraising me.  "Do you have experience?"

"Yes, a bit, I worked at a--"

"Can you come in at ten for a trial?"

"Um, sure."

The little Irish woman then eyes the conservative attire I've donned for my High Street CV Hand out, which includes a skirt that falls below the knee, tights, boots, and a tank top and a sweater.  

"Wear whatever ye like," she says, letting me know that I can relax a little when I dress for work tonight.  "I'm Molly."

"Oh, like the ..." I said, motioning to the sign.

So, I show up, she trains me, etc.  And we close.  

After close, she offers me a drink, which I'm assuming is a special occasion since it's my first night and we're discussing my prospects as an event coordinator.  I end up in the bar until after 6 in the morning, drinking with Molly and listening to incredibly intimate details about her personal life, both kind of enjoying myself, and wondering when it will be appropriate to leave.

She calls us a cab around sunrise and drops me off at my place, asking that I text her as soon as I'm home.  I do.

Thursday - Day 2.)

The incident with Sam(?)

Friday - Day 3.)

Exhausted, I come in and am given full control of the bar downstairs, which only stays open for a few hours due to the dismal amount of people who show up for the live band performing.  I come upstairs, worried that I may have to face Sam(?) again, or that he's perhaps told his boss about what happened. 

I become overly lethargic and disoriented as the night progresses.  Molly notices and offers me a bit of cocaine.  "Just put it on your tongue," she says, "don't go putting anything up your nose."

"Um, thanks, but can I just have a red bull instead?"

As soon as we close, I duck out of there, clearly slightly offending Molly in the process.  

I get to my night bus stop and try to keep my head down from this Romanian asshole and his friend who are hissing at and calling things to any female who walks past.

The Romanian eventually sidles up to me and attempts to start a conversation.  I ask him to leave me alone, and after about six demands as to why, I finally tell him that anyone who thinks it's funny or entertaining to make women who are trying to make their way home feel unsafe and harassed can't be my friend.

Romanian then blames it on his English friend, who says he had no part in it, and agrees that I have a point.  English friend then turns to me and asks why all Americans have such an attitude.

I respond that my attitude has little do with my nationality and more to do with the fact that I've been on my feet for several hours.  He becomes very thoughtful and then asks me, in a quite friendly tone, if I'm taking a gap year.  

Speechless at the bizarrity of this, the Turkish guy who owns the restaurant across the street pulls to the curb and offers me a ride.  Realizing that this is probably the safer of the two options, I jump into his car, hoping he doesn't intend to rape, kill, and taxiderm me.  

I am driven home without incident.

Saturday - Day 4.)

Night progresses as usual until about 1:30am, at which point, Molly's husband of 15 years, whom she's currently divorcing, comes in drunk.  She asks him to leave, and furious, he comes behind the bar shouting, "GET OUT?  GET OUT?  IS THAT WHAT YOU SAY TO ME? GET OUT?"

She shoves him, and he backhands her, hard, into glass and bottles of wine and beer, which shatter.  She finally manages to get him out, and shaking, sits down.  I give her a giant glass of Jameson, and clean up with the assistance of this poor Irish bloke who'd just come in for a quiet drink with his cousin, but seemed to have compassion for the situation.

After closing down, I sit down with Irish guy and his cousin and Molly and have a shot of tequila to calm my nerves.  Suddenly, a loud bang comes from outside.  Seems Molly's husband has come back and is trying to break in through the (glass) door with a chair from outside.

Molly calls the police, and I retreat downstairs, because I'm a bit nervous that he may get in.  Irish guy comes with me, gets drunk, and starts ranting about Oliver Cromwell (?).  He seems nice enough, but clearly very in love with his girlfriend (which is refreshing).

I come back upstairs where we're joined by Molly's bff, the beautiful but slightly crazy Gemma, and her boytoy of the week.  They, along with Irish guy's cousin, are loudly singing Irish ballads and dancing about.  Molly calls me a cab.  I get home just as the sun rises (again).

Thursday - Day 5.)

So, I've had about four days off to recover, which was pretty necessary, all things considered.  I go back in refreshed and ready to get some things done in preparation for my cinema night.  

Molly is drunk.  Sooooo drunk.

There's another barmaid there, off the clock, who is pregnant, but smoking and drinking Merlot (but only Merlot that's been open today, don't want to chance anything, wtf) and the music coordinator.  Both slowly help take over as Molly spirals into complete oblivion.

Molly goes to walk downstairs toward the end of the night.  She trips, and falls down an entire flight of stone steps, crashing at the bottom.  Because she's drunk, she pulls herself up, claims to be fine, and falls asleep on one of the couches.  

The staff decides not to call an ambulance for her (though the next day, we'll find out she broke her shoulder and three ribs).  

Closing goes smoothly because Molly isn't there pressuring me to drink.  Pregnant Barmaid offers me a glass of her merlot, and I accept, running across the street first to buy myself two jam donuts and to get Pregnant Barmaid some ciggies.

I decide to walk home, since the bus never seems to come.

We still don’t know what it represents specifically, but, does it remind you of some things? Well, the most obvious reference is the colors. It has 4 different colors, just like the letters in the Google logo: blue, red, yellow and green. Where else do you see them? The game Simon has them, even the general shape, but Chrome’s icon has a more modern look. There are three surrounding colors instead of 4, plus the main circle in the center. A circle has 360 degrees, as circular as the Firefox logo. Google borrowed source code from the creators of Mozilla Firefox. Chrome will also add the ability to use Firefox’s add-ons in the near future.

Now, why does it look like a Pokéball? Ash (Satoshi in Japan) and Google have something in common. Ash’s famous slogan can perhaps explain Google’s goals: Gotta catch’em all. The competition between Google against Microsoft and Yahoo in many different areas is a sign of how powerful the company currently is and wants to be. Besides the search engines, they have instant messengers, e-mails, blogs, video-sharing sites, photo storage, maps, etc. The competition doesn’t seem to end. Last but not least is the webcam. Google may not look at us through our webcams, but it can look at everything we do in their sites and their affiliates’. At least, they protect the users’ privacy more than its competitors do, it seems.

Aún no sabemos que representa específicamente, pero, ¿les recuerda de algunas cosas? Bueno, la referencia más obvia es la de los colores. Tiene 4 diferentes colores, como las letras de Google en el logo: azul, rojo, amarillo y verde. ¿Dónde más se les ve? El juego Simon los tiene, incluso la forma general, pero el ícono de Chrome tiene un look más moderno. Hay tres colores circundantes en vez de 4, más el círculo principal en el centro. Un círculo tiene 360 grados, tan circular como el logo de Firefox. Google pidió prestado código fuente de los creadores de Mozilla Firefox. Chrome también agregará la capacidad de utilizar las add-ons de Firefox en un futuro próximo.

Ahora, ¿por qué se parece a un Pokéball? Ash (Satoshi en Japón) y Google tienen algo en común. El eslogan famoso de Ash puede quizás explicar las metas de Google: Gotta catch’em all (Atrápalos ya). Quisimos continuar con "Cambio de ruta" de los valencianos "Una sonrisa terrible", desde su album "El dia uno" únicamente distribuido a través de la pagina web de la antigüa revista músical de papel efeeme. Aprovechamos para recordarte que su canción "Ésto es valencia" abre el recopilatorio de nuestros compañeros de onda del Club de los amigos del crimen, que dentro de nada estará en alguna tienda de discos.

Seguimos con la maqueta de éste año de los "Ambros Chapel", que actuaran en concierto ésta noche en la sala Darkness de Sedavi.

Nos volvimos a acordar de Sergio Algora y su Niño Gusano para hablaros del recopilatorio "Fotos con Sergio", que los ámigos de grabaciones en el mar estan preparando. Os pusimos "El rey ha muerto" de su album "El efecto Lupa".

Os hablamos del primavera club y de su flamante incorporación de La buena Vida, que harán un concierto con orquesta de su album "Soidemersol". De ese mismo album os pusiomos "Pacifico".

Iniciativa parecida llevaron a cabo los mallorquines Antonia Font con su album "Coser i Cantar" con las mejores canciones de su carrera. De aquel disco os estrajimos la versión del "Dins aquest iglú", que en su día apareciera en uno de sus mejores trabajos llamado "Alegria".

Como muestra de las canciones que puedes encontrar en el recopilatorio Valencia Radio on 2008, os pusimos la "Dolce Vitta" de "Megaphone out la mort", y os mencionamos la noticia de que dentro de nada tendran su primer disco en la calle de la mano de "Dress for exces".

Otros que vienen desde Xilxes (Castellon) y ya tienen su album de debut en la calle son Pleassants dreams que de la mano de Grenn Ufos han editado su sorprendente "Podría ser hoy". De él os extrajimos "Nunca me has gustado" y hablamos brevemente de sus influencias.

La nota de prensa de Gren Ufos hablando de éste disco cita a Belle and Sebastian como una de sus influencias. Nosotros no dudamos en usarlo como excusa para programar nuestra canción favorita de los galeses. Se trata de "Mary Jo" de su "Tiguermilk".

Os recordamos su paso por valencia de Jeff Tweddy, lider de los Radiohead americanos, y mediaticos Wilco, y os pusimos "leave me (If you found me)" de su album del 2.007 "Sky blue sky". Aprovechamos para poneros despues algo de su flamante telonero Senior, encarnado por el señor Landete y sus ilustres secuaces y a la szón actualmente también guitarrista de Euro Trash Girl. De ellos seleccionamos "El signe del temps" y lo emparentamos con gente como Billy Bragg por el caracter social de sus canciones, con el que por cierto los Wilco han colaborado en el "Mermaid Avenue".

Os hablamos del nuevo album de Snow Patrol "One hundred million  suns"que por cierto estrenan en la web de Radio 3, y aprovechamos pars ponerosOne hundred things you should done in bed de su album de los 90 "Songs of polar bears"

Ya puestos también os recordamos que los irlandenses del nortem Ash estuvieron el pasado Sábado en el FRA y os pusimos un tema de nuestro album favorito de la banda del 2005 "Meldtown"

Os hablamos de la gira del grupo de Mr Jon Auer y Mr Ken Stringfellow, los  Posiies, que interpretaran canciones de su album "Frosting on the Beater". El 2 de Octubre en Valencia en el greenspace. No te los pierdas. De ease mismo album os pusimos "20 questions"

Recordamos las colaboraciones del Sr. Stringfellow con REM y os rescatamos la versión en directo del Man on the moon que hicieron para su album "Live" del 2007.

Seguidamente os hablamos de la reedicion de los primeros discos de New Order, pero nos apetecio más escuchar a Joy Division comandados por el desparecido Ian Curtis. Os rescatamos "Love will tears us apart" en su versión grabada para las sesiones del rpograma de Jhon Peel en la Radio 1 de la BBC.

Tanto directo nos hizo recordar los momentos más especiales del concierto de los Irlandeses del Norte Ash, el pasado Sábado en el FRA con su tema "Starcrossed" de su album "Meldtown" del 2005, que es uno de nuestros favoritos.

Para reordaros que hoy y mañana estaran en Madrid y Barcelona los Coldplay, la inminente publicacion de su nuevo EP y el disco que piensan editar el año que viene, os pusimos seguidas "Viva la vida" de su flamante y actual album honónimo, y "Ize of the world" de los Strokes, ya que no en bano Albert Hammond Jr. estara teloneandolos.

Otros inclasificables que estuvieron en un FRA más nacional que de costumbre fueron El columpio asesino. Desde su "La gallina" os pusimo "Moscas".

El manifiesto desastre será lo nueve a un mes vista del asturiano Nacho Vegas. Mientras nos quedabamos con el "Verano Fatal" y su colaboración con Cristina Rosenvinghe.

Y acabamos con Vetusta Morla para recordaros el importante cartel del quizás eclipsado por el Primavera, festival barcelones que con motivo de las fiestas de la Merce toma el nombre de BAM, y llena las calles con un cartelon. "Sharabey Road" nos sirvio para despedir.

Ich selbst besitze ja auch ein paar und die sind eigentlich auch alle recht gut, nur die Abwechslung kommt einfach zu kurz... Klar, es gibt grandiose Titel wie Final Fantasy III, Magical Starsign, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker und Lunar Knights, die keine SRPGs/TRPGs sind, aber der Trend geht — wohl nicht zuletzt durch den Touchscreen — ziemlich Richtung SRPG/TRPG.

Muss ja nichts Negatives sein, solange die Qualität in vernünftiger Relation zur Quantität steht, dennoch würde ich mir einfach mehr richtige RPGs wünschen. RPGs bei denen man keine Scharen von Leuten rumkommandiert und man lediglich von Mission zu Mission hüpft. SRPGs/TRPGs mag ich aber dennoch recht gerne.

Na gut, was haben wir mittlerweile an SRPGs für den DS und welche erwarten uns noch?

Wie schon erwähnt ist der 4. September das Releasedatum für Blue Dragon Plus.

Sieht ja schon ganz ordentlich aus. Jedoch sieht's so aus als würden die Schatten nicht sonderlich oft genutzt. Und der Shadows Fight sieht auch sher lahm aus *gähn* Den Stylus über den Touchscreen ziehen kann ich auch bei Minigames... Bin mal gespannt ob und wann es nach Europa kommt. Da der Anime hier erscheint und das XBox Game auch recht erfolgreich war, könnte das gar nicht mal unrealistisch sein.

ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat

Besitze ich selbst auch, aber leider nur im land der aufgehenden Sonne erschienen... So versteh ich leider kein Wort und das raubt den Spielspaß extrem. Aber dafür war es auch sehr günstig. Wenn man von der Sprache mal absieht, ist das Game eigentlich recht gut aufgemacht und gefällt mir ganz gut, spielerisch auch nicht schlecht. Aber ich glaube, auf ein USA- bzw. Europa-Release warte ich vergebens :(

Front Mission 1st

Das zweite (oder war's schon das dritte?) Remake eines Klassikers. Besitze ich auch selbst und es ist wirklich gut. Grafisch hätte man wesentlich mehr daraus machen können, aber spielerisch top und es bietet eine recht interessante Geschichte. Leider gab es auch hier kein Europa-Release, dafür aber eins in Nordamerika, womit es das Game also auch in einer für mich verständlichen Sprache gibt.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Revenant Wings ist mehr Final Fantasy als der große Bruder von der PS2. Und der eigentliche Held rückt hier sogar mehr in den Mittelpunkt. FFXII war nicht schlecht, aber FFXII war kein FF wie ich es mir wünsche, Revenant Wings ist einfach ein besseres FF. Es gibt mir mehr das Feeling, das ich bei der Serie immer hatte, auch wenn es kein Top-Game (es ist gut, aber nicht top) ist macht es Spaß. Und natürlich ein großer Pluspunkt: Europarelease.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Das Game, an dem ich momentan dran bin. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance für den GameBoy Advance hab ich schon sehr gemocht, A2 toppt das aber. Mehr Kämpfe, mehr Mission, mehr Berufe, mehr Fun!

Tactics A2 ist einfach großartig und das sag ich nicht als FF-Fanboy, der ich bin, sondern als verdammter RPG-Fanboy, der ich ebenfalls bin :P

Fire Emblem: Shin Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken

Fire Emblem ist wohl eine der besten Serien, die die Videospielgeschichte hervorgebracht hat. Definitiv ein Must-Have, auch wenn ich's noch nicht angezockt habe. Die vier in Europa erschienenen Teile hab ich alle schon hier rumstehen und auch dieser Teil kommt in meine Sammlung sobald es in Europa erscheint. Und ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass es hier erscheinen wird.

Disgaea DS

Ein Port der PSP Version mit einigen Verbesserungen. Nachdem ich den eher mittelmäßigen Anime geguckt habe und noch keines der Disgaea Games gezockt habe, ist aber zumindest klar, dass ich dieses Game früher oder später auch kaufen werde, es sieht einfach zu abgefahren aus, um es ignorieren zu können :D

Release in Nordamerika ist ja schon am 23. September.

Rondo of Swords

Bei Rondo of Swords bin ich mir nicht so sicher... es sieht zwar recht interessant aus, aber irgendwas stört mich, keine Ahnung was. Vielleicht wird es mal gekauft, wenn ich zu viel Geld habe und was Neues zum Zocken brauche... Beides wird wohl nie Eintreten, evtl. findet es dennoch irgendwann den Weg in meine Sammlung. Die Kampfansicht erinnert mich auch irgendwie an Tales of Phantasia.

Heroes of Mana

Nachdem mich Children of Mana doch sehr enttäuscht hatte und als mittelmäßiger Dungeoncrawler nun nach einmal Durchspielen in meinem Regal dahinvegetiert, sieht Heroes auf Mana verdammt interessant aus. Besonders die Online-Funktionen des Spiels sind interessant, leider hab ich es bisher versäumt, es mir zuzulegen. Sollte ich in naher Zukunft mal nachholen.

Luminous Arc

Ein Game, das mich schon nach dem ersten Trailer in seinen Bann zog. Ich muss es mir endlich zulegen und wie ich grade gesehen habe, hat Rising Star Games es sogar in Europa veröffentlicht, ist völlig an mir vorbeigegangen...
Teil 2 erscheint im November in Nordamerika.

Das sind jetzt so die wichtigsten und interessantesten für mich, es gibt eindeutig noch mehr, aber alle wollte ich nun nicht aufzählen. Kennt sonst noch jemand Gutes aus dem Genre, das man sich zumindest mal ansehen sollte? Freut vielleicht sogar jemanden dieser Trend? ;) Ich jedenfalls geh erstmal ein wenig Tactics A2 weiterzocken, bevor ich mir meinen wohlverdienten Schlaf hole.

El cartel ha sido revelado por la mítica revista de cine gore y de terror Fangoria; en la web de la misma, anuncian primeras fechas en las que se presentará el film en diversos cines americanos. Desgraciadamente, aún no se sabe nada de la fecha de estreno... mi pregunta es... ¿a qué se debe tanto retraso y tan poca prisa para estrenarla?

There were two event days. Saturday for jrock+subculture, Sunday for cosplay. I went for both days.

Hmm. Saturday was quite uneventful. Seriously, there were hardly anybody. Kiiinda wasted my time. XD But I had fun dressing up. I came up with a simple kodona outfit + blue wig + megane. LOL It's kinda based off

an original character that I've yet to draw.

Went home after it began to rain...HARD.

2nd day was much much better. Lots more people went. XD I'm glad to meet my cosplay friends. They are such utter crack and fun. I went as Ash Ketchum from pokemon. Not exactly happy with how I portrayed him though. He's supposed to be more...dorky. LOL and I swear, his hair is hard to spike out under a cap. I really did my best so I'm sorry if I effed him up.

Ash backslats and back posts being bent.  The pieces were split from a log taken from a fellow's back yard in Wichita, shaved down and bent while they were still green (wet) so that when they dry they will hold their shapes.

My adventure this morning included points of interest such as Nationwide, then the Post Office. Met Ash, who was back from Reading, and we went round town for a bit.
Then at 11:00 I cycled off to the Fox and Hounds in Bredon to pester them about giving me a job, who said they'll ring me back... Where have I heard that before? But at least they sound happy, unlike may other miserable gits I've asked. At least the journey wasn't wasted!

I really need to buy a new bike, one that doesn't squeak or creak. That saddle is extremely uncomfortable! My arse hurt so much when I got home... I can imagine that's the kind of pain Ash puts up with every Saturday night? So of course I put my feet up and started watching a film called "The Kingdom", it looks good, but I had to go to work :(

Anyway, the title of this entry happened at work. I finally got my graphics card back from Matt! Woop!
My £70-odd nVidia graphics card, and he brings it in a Tesco carrier bag!! Well, at least it works anyway, what more can you ask for?
Actually I should wipe the hardrive, real bad, there are so many bugs, and the real extent of the virus' I have just reared its ugly head at me. Pop up after pop up!!!

Work: boring as hell, I've got two more rooms to clean, and I really can't be arsed. Can I really be bothered to do my last three hours? Nah.

I feel like watching James Bond tonight. Die another day? I think that's my favourite, but it has been a while since I last saw it.

Well that's my Wednesday 27th, next rant tomorrow... Or shall I try to have some meaning in it? Inspirational and Moral, or my first developer post? We shall see!

El viento hace que las puertas del cementerio del santo refugio chirrien como los grillos mientras dan bandazos en mitad de la noche.

Eric contempla la tumba de Matt y la del padre Daniel, inmovil, mientras el viento ruge con violencia y zarandea sus cabellos y su abrigo.

- Siento que los dos hayais muerto dice Eric.

Un rayo ilumina todo el cementerio acentuando las sombras y dandole un aspecto fantasmal, la lluvia comienza a caer con mas violencia empapandole hasta los huesos.

-Han muerto demasiadas personas por mi culpa.

Eric se arrodilla delante de la tumba del padre Daniel y  desenfunda su desert eagle.

-Se lo que opina  de esto, no me lo tenga en cuenta...

El acomoda la pistola dentro de su boca, quita el seguro y da un ultimo vistazo.

Los cuervos vuelan agitados por el sonido de otro relampago, llenando el silencio reinante en la noche con el batir de sus alas...

El arma esta encasquillada.

El deja caer los brazos con cara de abatimiento mientras el arma cae a un charco, un leve tintineo pone en alerta a Eric.

En la lapida de Matt, un objeto cubierto de barro y hojas se balancea con el viento provocando ese tintineo.

Tras limpiar la suciedad con sus manos el objeto se descubre, Eric sostiene un medallon dorado, grabado en el se encuentra el mismo motivo que adorna la cerradura del santo refugio, un campo iluminado por los rayos del sol.

-...Mensaje recibido Matt...

Eric comienza a caminar lejos del santo refugio calle abajo, mientras enciende un cigarrillo se coloca el medallon al cuello, por un momento la lluvia cesa.

El coche permanece inmovil al final de la calle, hay unos 1000 metros desde ese punto y la entrada del cementerio.

Ash observa pacientemente, lleva ahi un par de horas esperando hasta que por fin su espera es recompensada, Eric Frost abandona el cementerio y camina lentamente calle abajo...

Ash dejando a un lado su estilo personal ha decidido acabar el trabajo, esta vez no habra errores, el bufon levanta la tapa de la mira telescopica y asoma el rifle por la ventanilla del coche.

La lluvia intensa hace dificil el blanco y tambien tiene que tener en cuenta el viento, pero respondiendo a sus plegarias, parece que la mano de dios ha cerrado el grifo de la lluvia por un momento.

En ese momento puede verlo con toda claridad a traves de su visor, Eric vuelve la cabeza por un momento.

-Eso es mirame a los ojos... murmura Ash mientras quita el seguro.

Algo distrae la atencion del bufon, una figura oscura le observa desde una esquina cercana.

Dos diminutos puntos rojos aparecen entre las sombras a la altura de la cabeza del misterioso desconocido y unos segundos despues el coche estalla en llamas...

Trozos de metal en llamas y pequeños cristales caen como siniestro confeti sobre la figura, que permanece impasible mientras los restos del vehiculo siguen ardiendo.

-Frost es mio pelele...

In ogni caso mi sembra giusto segnalare l'evento che interessa chiunque voglia approfondire al tematica del performance tuning.

Os prometo que ya no os volveré a dejar por falta de tiempo.

Mientras tanto deciros que Aguaspop no se emitira la próxima semana por la radio, pero sí la siguiente. Nuestras próximas citas serán pues en la fm valenciana, el próximo Miércoles 3 de Septiembre en Aldaia Ràdio 98.2 de la fm y el Jueves 4 de Septiembre en Radio Sol Albal 93.7 fm st.

Por cierto, acabar diciendo que me ha llegado a los oidos la nueva emisión antaño interrumpida de Radio Alaquas. Enhorabuena!!
