I arrived quite early and went for a coffee at the smart cafe under the stand, which provided welcome shelter from the mizzling greyness enveloping Töölö. Atlantis would like there to be a roof on top of the stand at Bollis, but apparently 'the whole area is protected' so Helsinki Council won't do it.

With my prgramme there was an advert for Jorma Kronstedt, a Kokoomus candidate in the forthcoming local elections. Being extremely cynical about politicians of all stripes, I decided to give him a call and ask to meet up at half time, in the certain knowledge that he wouldn't be wasting his Saturday afternoon watching Ykkönen football. I was wrong. His campaign manager was there, as was Christian Thibault, a bulky German who is also standing in the elections. He's a Svenska Folk Partiet candidate in Espoo.

Both had gratifyingly down to earth ideas, and wanted to use football (and sport in general in Kronstedt's case) as a force for social cohesion. The problem as Thibault sees it is that kids don't have the money to pay their subs (around €100 a year), especially immigrant kids. So Atlantis have a 'hundreds' club whereby businesses and individuals can chip in €100 and help a young player play for free, when they might otherwise be unable to afford it.

Thibault is a strong believer in football's ability to change society. "When people go to a game, they sit next to each other, they mix, they talk and they have something in common," he told me before the match. "The chances to interract between Finns and immigrants are pretty rare, so maximising these chances is vital for us."

It's a great image, and the idea of 'keeping kids off the streets' is also prominent with Kronstedt. He coaches hockey and golf as well, and sees them all as a means of preventing the listlessness of unemployed youth. There is a strong strand of paternalism in Kronstedt's politics (he's in the right wing party, after all), but he and Thibault seem genuine, they go to matches, and they support a football club that needs the money and seems to be doing good work.

JJK did not play well. Ady was inventive and clever, keeping moves flowing and looking after the ball, but the Atlantis defence were resolute. Eid Adel was particularly impressive, keeping a lid on Babatunde Wusu and making a couple of last ditch tackles.

There were a LOT of JJK fans there, and the racket they made was quite impressive. The crowd was 835, but that didn't include the 100 odd people standing on Urheilukatu watching the game without paying, or the several journalists who had gone in before the Azerbaijan game to have a quick look.

In the second half Skepple scraped a shot home, and Atlantis had something to hang on to. The news of TPV's surprising win at Viikingit filtered through to give the JJK fans some hope, but aside from a weak header by Wusu and a goal disallowed for offside, they created little. The result secures Atlantis's position in Ykkönen, as VIFK now travel to Tornio for their final game against TP 47 knowing that a draw will see them cling on to their position in Ykkönen.

The title race goes to the wire now, with Viikingit away at JIPPO and JJK hosting Kemi. If JJK win they go up as champions, if they draw then Viikingit need to win by three clear goals to win the title. a two goal margin might be enough, depending on how many JJK get. The team that finishes second will play off against the second bottom team in Veikkausliiga, either KuPS or IFK Mariehamn.

Inspired from the legendary island of Plato and the original Atlantis of the Bahamas, a new Atlantis rose on the shores of Palm Jumeirah-Dubai in September 2008. Astonishingly, this resort cost nearly 1.5 Billion dollars to build. It consists of two towers linked by a bridge, with a total of approximately two thousand rooms. There are two Palm Jumeirah Monorail stations connecting the resort to the main section of the Palm Jumeirah islands. The resort also includes a water theme park (160,000 square meters), a conference center, and 20,000 square feet (1,900 m²) of retail space.

You must be wondering how much a room costs in such a resort/hotel. Well, I first heard of numbers ranging from 500 - 20,000 $ US dollars; looked it up afterwards and found THIS. I think it ranges from 500 - 2,500$ a night.

I'm jumping back over into the Sci-Fi realm this week with a mini-review of last week's midseason finale of Stargate Atlantis. The Stargate franchise is really what got me into Sci-Fi televison. Up until about six or seven years ago I really didn't watch any televison that could fall into the sccience fiction genre. Trek in all of its incarnations never impressed me and had turned me of the genre as a whole. One night while flipping channels I stopped on something that seemed to have something to do the military. Long story short, it ended up being an episode of Stargate SG-1 and after watching the rest of the episode I was completely hooked. Anyways I'm blabbering...

First Contact: IF you watch Atlantis and have yet to see this episode you may want to stop reading as spoliers apply to the rest of the post. It sure is great to see Daniel again. His character really belongs in Atlantis at this point. With the Ori defeated and Daniel being the foremost expert on the Ancients it is hard to imagine he would want to be anywhere else. Michael Shanks (Daniel) and Daviid Hewlett (McKay) have such a great on-screen chemistry that it makes their scenes fun to watch. There are a bunch of classic McKay moments throughout the episode. It has been interesting to watch the little Ronan/McKay rivalry for Dr. Keller heat up. There is the potential for some really good character moments within this little arc and it should be really interesting watching it play out. For me the best part of the episode was when Daniel and McKay were in Janus' lab on Atlantis together and we see Daniel tell McKay he really doesn't care about getting the credit for any of the work they are doing. It really was a touching moment and really speaks to Daniel's character. We may have seen him grow as character over the last eleven or so years and we have seen almost all of his theories and research prove to be correct, but to the outside world he is still the bumbling professor we saw back in the original Stargate movie. And until the Stargate program goes public that's all he will ever be. I really think it will be interesting to see if any of this humility starts to rub offon McKay. He has certainly grown over the course of the series and there are hints that he may able to set his ego aside temporarily, but he hasn't quite had that all important moment of truth yet, and maybe his captivity with Daniel will help reveal that to him.

The new bad guys this episode reveals are pretty interesting so far. Their grasp on ancient technologies will certainly make them a worthy foe for the Atlantis team. At this point I'm thinking they may be Wraith that had stumbled upon Janus' lab thousands of years ago, and have since adopted many of his inventions and perhaps found a feeding solution similar to the one Keller develops to stop the need for feeding on humans, either that or that is the side effect that the research alludes to. It is alos possible that the device's side effects somehow creates a link with a parallel universe, and the new bad guys were able to gain access to our universe. In which case they may be a different version of the aliens that were seen in the Daedalus Variations earlier this season. And my thrid theory (the one I believe isi the least likely) is that they may actually be ancients themselves. The Ori prove not all the ancients were good people, and these may be another example of 'bad/evil ancients' only the never ascended.

Anywas we more than likely will find out their orgin tonight as the thw two parter concludes with The Lost Tribe at 9PM EST on Sci-Fi.

I'm of on holidays at the weekend and my excitement is tinged with a few nerves 'cos my four girl pals and I will be venturing somewhat into the unknown. We're spending eight days in Dubai and although I did spend five days there last year, it seems so long ago and it was barely enough time to taste the true Arabian flavour.

The majority of my holidays are spent in Spain - I know it well, love the food, the culture (and the siestas!!), the people and the weather. But I like new things too and this holiday will definitely be an Arabian adventure. Last year I mostly soaked up the rays and the food but this time I want to do more than that; I want to experience Dubai.

Unlike my terrible experience in Morocco (not because I am a slapper and ignorant to different cultures but because it's a horrible country and the men are intimidating and rude), this holiday is going to be a discovery holiday so I can return to Dubai year on year and know what's what.

On the agenda so far is sunbathing (well, it would be rude not to squeeze a bit in while we're there), a desert tour including camel rides, bellydancing and henna tattoos; a dinner river cruise to soak up the Dubai nightscape; shopping in the souks; skiing in the world's biggest indoor snowdome; and possibly a water park. We quite fancied the newly built Atalntis water park, where you can swim amongst the sharks, but rumour has it that there is no water; kinda essential for a water park wouldn't you say?

Ich wollte Euch nur kurz meine Erfahrungen schreiben.

Die MP3 sind sehr wirkungsvoll. Ich hatte schon andere Produktionen versucht, aber da war ich nie richtig in Hypnose und Erfolge hatte es auch nicht gebracht. Nachdem ich CDP1 angewendet habe, weiß ich daß man mir bisher nur etwas einreden wollte.

Jetzt habe ich Erfolg und kann Frauen ohne Angst kontaktieren. Ich habe mich verändert und bin interessanter für Frauen geworden. Ich bin zufrieden und kann die CD empfehlen.

Space Shuttle Endeavour will deliver equipment and facilities, such as a reusable logistics module, additional crew quarters, a second treadmill, equipment for the regenerative life support system and spare hardware to the International Space Station to enable them to have a larger crew to reside aboard the complex. 

This mission which will be manned by astronauts Christopher J. Ferguson, Eric A. Boe, pilot, Sandra H. Magnus, Stephen G. Bowen, Donald R. Pettit, Robert S. (Shane) Kimbrough and Heidemarie M. Stefanyshyn-Piper, will also help replace Expedition 17/18 Flight Engineer Gregory E. Chamitoff, who will return to Earth with the STS-126 crew.  In his stead, Sandra H. Magnus will remain on the station to serve as a flight engineer and NASA science officer for Expedition 18.  Magnus will return to Earth on shuttle mission STS-119.

Penelitian mutakhir yang dilakukan oleh Aryso Santos, menegaskan bahwa Atlantis itu adalah wilayah yang sekarang disebut Indonesia. Setelah melakukan penelitian selama 30 tahun, ia menghasilkan buku Atlantis, The Lost Continent Finally Found, The Definitifve Localization of Plato's Lost Civilization (2005). Santos menampilkan 33 perbandingan, seperti luas wilayah, cuaca, kekayaan alam, gunung berapi, dan cara bertani, yang akhirnya menyimpulkan bahwa Atlantis itu adalah Indonesia. Sistem terasisasi sawah yang khas Indonesia, menurutnya, ialah bentuk yang diadopsi oleh Candi Borobudur, Piramida di Mesir, dan bangunan kuno Aztec di Meksiko.

Bukan kebetulan ketika Indonesia pada tahun 1958, atas gagasan Prof. Dr. Mochtar Kusumaatmadja melalui UU no. 4 Perpu tahun 1960, mencetuskan Deklarasi Djoeanda. Isinya menyatakan bahwa negara Indonesia dengan perairan pedalamannya merupakan kesatuan wilayah nusantara. Fakta itu kemudian diakui oleh Konvensi Hukum Laut Internasional 1982. Merujuk penelitian Santos, pada masa puluhan ribu tahun yang lalu wilayah negara Indonesia merupakan suatu benua yang menyatu. Tidak terpecah-pecah dalam puluhan ribu pulau seperti halnya sekarang.

Santos menetapkan bahwa pada masa lalu itu Atlantis merupakan benua yang membentang dari bagian selatan India, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Jawa, Kalimantan, terus ke arah timur dengan Indonesia (yang sekarang) sebagai pusatnya. Di wilayah itu terdapat puluhan gunung berapi yang aktif dan dikelilingi oleh samudera yang menyatu bernama Orientale, terdiri dari Samudera Hindia dan Samudera Pasifik.

Teori Plato menerangkan bahwa Atlantis merupakan benua yang hilang akibat letusan gunung berapi yang secara bersamaan meletus. Pada masa itu sebagian besar bagian dunia masih diliput oleh lapisan-lapisan es (era Pleistocene). Dengan meletusnya berpuluh-puluh gunung berapi secara bersamaan yang sebagian besar terletak di wilayah Indonesia (dulu) itu, maka tenggelamlah sebagian benua dan diliput oleh air asal dari es yang mencair. Di antaranya letusan gunung Meru di India Selatan dan gunung  Semeru di Jawa Timur. Lalu letusan gunung berapi di Sumatera yang membentuk Danau Toba dengan pulau Somasir, yang merupakan puncak gunung yang meletus pada saat itu. Letusan yang paling dahsyat di kemudian hari adalah gunung Krakatau (Krakatoa) yang memecah bagian Sumatera dan Jawa dan lain-lainnya serta membentuk selat dataran Sunda.

Atlantis berasal dari bahasa Sanskrit Atala, yang berarti surga atau menara peninjauan (watch tower), Atalaia (Potugis), Atalaya (Spanyol). Plato menegaskan bahwa wilayah Atlantis pada saat itu merupakan pusat dari peradaban dunia dalam bentuk budaya, kekayaan alam, ilmu/teknologi, dan lain-lainnya. Plato menetapkan bahwa letak Atlantis itu di Samudera Atlantik sekarang. Pada masanya, ia bersikukuh bahwa bumi ini datar dan dikelilingi oleh satu samudera (ocean) secara menyeluruh. Ocean berasal dari kata Sanskrit ashayana yang berarti mengelilingi secara menyeluruh. Pendapat itu kemudian ditentang oleh ahli-ahli di kemudian hari seperti Copernicus, Galilei-Galileo, Einstein, dan Stephen Hawking.

Santos berbeda dengan Plato mengenai lokasi Atlantis. Ilmuwan Brazil it berargumentasi, bahwa pada saat terjadinya letusan berbagai gunung berapi itu, menyebabkan lapisan es mencair dan mengalir ke samudera sehingga luasnya bertambah. Air dan lumpur berasal dari abu gunung berapi tersebut membebani samudera dan dasarnya, mengakibatkan tekanan luar biasa kepada kulit bumi di dasar samudera, terutama pada pantai benua. Tekanan ini mengakibatkan gempa. Gempa ini diperkuat lagi oleh gunung-gunung yang meletus kemudian secara beruntun dan menimbulkan gelombang tsunami yang dahsyat. Santos menamakannya Heinrich Events.

Dalam usaha mengemukakan pendapat mendasarkan kepada sejarah dunia, tampak Plato telah melakukan dua kekhilafan, pertama mengenai bentuk/posisi bumi yang katanya datar. Kedua, mengenai letak benua Atlantis yang katanya berada di Samudera Atlantik yang ditentang oleh Santos. Penelitian militer Amerika Serikat di wilayah Atlantik terbukti tidak berhasil menemukan bekas-bekas benua yang hilang itu. Oleh karena itu tidaklah semena-mena ada peribahasa yang berkata, "Amicus Plato, sed magis amica veritas." Artinya,"Saya senang kepada Plato tetapi saya lebih senang kepada kebenaran."
Namun, ada beberapa keadaan masa kini yang antara Plato dan Santos sependapat. Yakni pertama, bahwa lokasi benua yang tenggelam itu adalah Atlantis dan oleh Santos dipastikan sebagai wilayah Republik Indonesia. Kedua, jumlah atau panjangnya mata rantai gunung berapi di Indonesia. Di antaranya ialah Kerinci, Talang, Krakatoa, Malabar, Galunggung, Pangrango, Merapi, Merbabu, Semeru, Bromo, Agung, Rinjani. Sebagian dari gunung itu telah atau sedang aktif kembali.

Ketiga, soal semburan lumpur akibat letusan gunung berapi yang abunya tercampur air laut menjadi lumpur. Endapan lumpur di laut ini kemudian meresap ke dalam tanah di daratan. Lumpur panas ini tercampur dengan gas-gas alam yang merupakan impossible barrier of mud (hambatan lumpur yang tidak bisa dilalui), atau in navigable (tidak dapat dilalui), tidak bisa ditembus atau dimasuki. Dalam kasus di Sidoarjo, pernah dilakukan remote sensing, penginderaan jauh, yang menunjukkan adanya sistim kanalisasi di wilayah tersebut. Ada kemungkinan kanalisasi itu bekas penyaluran semburan lumpur panas dari masa yang lampau.

Bahwa Indonesia adalah wilayah yang dianggap sebagai ahli waris Atlantis, tentu harus membuat kita bersyukur. Membuat kita tidak rendah diri di dalam pergaula internasional, sebab Atlantis pada masanya ialah pusat peradaban dunia. Namun sebagai wilayah yang rawan bencana, sebagaimana telah dialami oleh Atlantis itu, sudah saatnya kita belajar dari sejarah dan memanfaatkan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan mutakhir untuk dapat mengatasinya.

Eran 12 puntos, con ellos pedí la octava temporada de SG1 (ya se que tenía que haberla comprado depués de la primera de Atlantis, pero no la encontré en las tiendas), me enviaron un email diciéndome que tardarían unas 10 semanas (esto fué a finales de junio, cuando acababa la promoción).

Viendo que pasaba el tiempo y que no la recibía tuve que rendirme y aceptar que no me llegaría (no podía reclamar porque no había teléfono ni email de contacto), así que me la compré.

La semana pasada recibí un paquete que resultó ser Stargate SG1 Temp 10, pensé que se les había acabado (a pesar de que cuando la pedí habían unidades suficientes) pero no le di mucha importancia porque así no tenía dos veces la misma temporada. Dentro del paquete había una nota que decía que me mandaban lo que había pedido, no que lo habían sustituido sino que lo había pedido ¿?

Hoy mirando en el libreto de la promoción que venia con Atlantis me fijo que la temporada 10 vale 4 puntos menos que la 8, me compré expresamente la 3ª de Atlantis para no quedarme fuera de la promoción y tener 12 puntos para la 8, pero si lo llego a saber me quedaba solo con los 8 puntos reunidos con las otras dos temporadas.

Ale, ya me he desahogado.

At that stage the earth was inhabited by a white race only -- extremely un-civilized -- but with a huge potential for intellectual development, with the ability to exist in very hot conditions, but physically weak as they were hunters: It was clear from the beginning that they could not be used to mine the gold.

However, by a process of selective cloning, the inhabitants from the Thirteenth Planet started to create a race capable of mining gold on this planet:

1. This new specie had to be able to function in groups -- while the existing specie on this planet tends to be extremely individual.

2. The new specie had to be able to live and work in extreme hot conditions.

3. This new race had to evolve in a 'controlled' manner -- to that purpose their intelligence-gene was switched off -- in order for the next generations to work just as hard, without asking questions.

4. They had to be fertile in order to produce the next generation as quickly as possible. But at the same time they had to be unable or have no desire to build houses as protection against the elements:

4.1 That was to ensure that they spend a bigger portion of their lives to mine gold

4.2 And that bad weather drove them underground into the mines -- in order to spend even more time to mine gold.

5. They had to superstitious which would  assist in the controlling of them.

As could be expected, this cloning project was not without pit-falls, but yielded exceptional results:

A working-class-race was created over a very short span of time -- some scriptures claim this period was as short as 5 000 years -- which satisfied the above requirements.

Cloning continued for an extended period of time to achieve refinements, such as:

1. For safety reasons, the new race could not grow long hair.

2. For security reasons their genes to develop communication through the written word was suppressed.

3. Throughout the ongoing process of evolution, they had to maintain (and even better) their ability to smuggle gold out of the mines to such places where the Reptile People could easily collect the gold.

A side-effect caused their skin colour to become black, but the Thirteenth Planet never bothered to address this problem.

Breeding started on a continent, today only known as Atlantis, and the mine of gold started in Africa, apparently within 10 000 years after the clone project was initiated.

As mentioned earlier, this project was not without it pitfalls, and eventually -- after the project was running smoothly for tens of thousands of years -- these Reptile People (see a description of them later) from the Thirteenth Planet destroyed Atlantis totally in order to get rid of unwanted results.

However, the White Spiritual Leaders (WSL) of the time was expecting that already for a long time, and secretly established get-aways to a continent, known as Europe today.

They also helped thousands of other clones who did not achieve the desired results in this bizarre cloning project by sending them to the East -- as peace-loving vegetarians the WSLs could not abandon these creations that only looked like human beings.

As you know, all gold are stored in safety in places like Fort Knox, but did you ever wonder why there places are not filled to capacity?

Well, now you know, because the gold are transported at regular intervals to the Thirteenth Planet -- in a way that is so advanced, it is impossible to describe their mode of transport in an Earthly language.

Currently, in one South African mine alone, 50 000 clones work and live permanently in that mine -- and their yield goes directly to the Thirteenth Planet.

These clones are not weakened by evolution and inter-breeding -- genetically they are 99% the same as their fore-fathers of hundreds of thousands years ago.

The inhabitants of the Thirteenth Planet, who can exist easily in extreme cold conditions, look like reptiles and got hands and feet, although we would call it claws.

All people on this planet -- regardless of their skin colour -- are slaves of and subject to the Reptile People -- and freedom from them is the first priority of the WSLs.

Please remember that the WSLs are in direct and constant contact with what we would call The After Life -- but it is ironic that the white people on this planet became just as superstitious as their cloned neighbours -- caused by association and inter-breeding with the clones.

The WSLs know that this planet Earth will only develop spiritually when we are free from the Reptile People.

It is a bizarre fact that the Reptile People developed an unique taste for eating young children and teenagers.

They eat their victims alive because their flesh is still soft, juicy and fatty -- often over an extended period of days -- because the children's liver excrete a tasteful chemical while they are dying in extreme fear and agony.

The children are transported along with the gold.

This explains why lost children are seldom found -- there really is NOTHNG to find.

The occasional murdered child we sometimes find, are victims of pedophiles -- and here again, our superstition suite the Reptile People, because pedophiles are rarely murderers.

I hope the reader will understand know most efforts to search for missing children are doomed from the start.

I do not question projects like the Missing Child Project in South Africa for example (or any other similiar project), but experience has shown that these projects only end up with hugh amounts of money -- and nothing to spend it on.

The Truth, as the WSLs know from personal experience, are unobtainable by the human beings in this day and age, because The Truth is hidden and obscured by our pre-conceptions, indoctrination, racism, superstition, our desires after money, wealth, pleasure and our addiction to meat, alcohol, sex and drugs.

We will only conquer the Reptile People if we develop spiritually -- if we rise above the 'sins' mentioned in the previous paragraph.

We need to see and understand The Truth before we can become stronger than the Reptile People.

Because of our association and inter-breeding with the clones, we strayed extremely far from the suggested way of living prescribed by the WSLs.

For example, they teach that the purpose of sex is one-fold: It is to produce children -- and for no other reason -- and definitely not for pleasure only.

Ironically, as bad as the Reptile People are as rulers, they are extremely good and faithful slaves when they are under the command of the WSLs.

Actually, on a couple of planets where the WSLs and Reptile People live in peaceful co-existence, the Reptile People are very happy and content to explore distant universes under the close command of the WSLs.

Ich habe vor 14 Tagen das Paket CDP1 + CDS1 bestellt und auch schnell bekommen. Ich muß sagen, das ist nach verschiedenen Versuchen, endlich mal eine ordentliche Hypnose. Die Sache mit dem Codewort funktioniert prima und die Hypnose ist sehr tief.

Die beiden CDs passen perfekt zusammen. Wer nicht nur sexuell besser drauf sein will, sondern auch seine Traumfrau sucht, der hat hier ein Paket der Spitzenklasse.

Estás preguntas se hacían en la edición de Conozca Más que traía al Santo en su portada. Y efectivamente el tema eran los superheroes gringos contra el único superheroe mexicano que es El Santo, el enmascarado de plata. Yo en lo personal creo que se pudo haber creado un marketing y una buena serie basada en los luchadores mexicanos que fueron figuras adoradas por chicos y grandes en este pais.

El Santo, Blue Demon, Tinieblas, Rayo de Jalisco y Atlantis son algunos de los luchadores que se hicieron famosos en los cuadrilateros y cuyas figuras encajaban bien como para hacer de ellos mucho más que personajes de Lucha Libre. Algunos recordaran a otros como Huracan Ramirez o al Supermuñeco.

Yo al menos era muy fan de Tinieblas cuando aparecía en la serie de Capulina en los 80. Me gustaba la mascara y el traje, eran perfectos entonces. Si alguien tuviera la capacidad de reinventar estos personajes y los propietarios de los nombres se unieran, se podrían hacer grandes historietas y hasta una serie animada.

Por supuesto, el más adelantado es el Hijo del Santo quien ha sacado variedad de artículos de El Santo, principalmente ropa, algunas campañas y unos capítulos en Cartoon Network. Blue Demon Jr. hace lo mismo aunque no ha llegado a los niveles de tener una serie animada, ha explotado el nombre como ha podido y hoy en día esta convertido en todo un empresario que además tuvo su propio podcast en Dixo. No se si al Hijo del Santo y a Blue Demon Jr. les convenga más estar por su cuenta explotando el nombre que les heredó sus padres ó les iría mejor si se unieran junto con otros luchadores y crear una saga increíble de historias al estilo Marvel Comics o DC.

El Santo y Blue Demon crearon sus propias leyendas gracias a las películas que protagonizaron. Tinieblas hizo lo propio en la serie de Capulina junto a Alushe. Atlantis podría funcionar como el Aquaman mexicano. Rayo de Jalisco tiene personalidad muy mexicana, al tener referencia al Estado de Jalisco que tiene relación con el mariachi y los charros. Villanos hay de sobra en las películas de los 70. Todo es cuestión de adaptar esos personajes a la actualidad. Incluso podrían incluir luchadores como Blue Panter, Pierroth, Fuerza Guerrera ó Mil Máscaras como luchadores solitarios que no dependen del grupo de El Santo, que incluso tienen una enemistad con los mismos aunque luchen tambien contra el mal, pero con intereses personales... como Civil War!!!

Pero bueno, alla ellos y su mala cabeza.

The Atlantis has just been freshly opened for a couple of days when our group checked it out.

Of course, in order to get to the crown of the island, we first had to go through the island's, uh, "trunk". Here's a street view of Palm Jumeirah island's tree trunk, showing just how vast the real estate development there already is:

Man, it's already a city onto itself.

And after a few minutes of highway, estates and condos, we eventually got a glimpse of the grand palace that is the Atlantis.

To the left is a massive monorail that will lead visitors straight from the mainland and directly into the heart of the Atlantis resort:

Finally we reached Atlantis itself. Admittedly, the outside did not seem as impressive up close (at least to me) as it did from afar. Here's a closer look. Note the boom crane and the unpainted (and slightly scorched) portion of the arch. A fire broke out two weeks ago, almost threatening to delay its public opening. But the developers were able to make adjustments and the opening proceeded almost as planned:

Up close, you will notice the workers dangling on harnesses, doing their best to retouch the scorched facade.

Some of the priciest rooms were actually located on top of this arch. The fire knocked out some of these rooms. But then, I guess there's plenty more to go around.

At any rate, if the outside did not completely impress me, the insides did. Thanks mostly to the developers' need to dazzle the visitors in whatever way they can.

Since this is after all the "Atlantis," with a theme based on the premise that this mythical city has just been discovered and reborn, then it is only natural that the resort would have an underwater theme.

Here's the detail of a domed ceiling:

If that didn't wow you, this one might. It's a massive chandelier in the shape of a stylized sea urchin. Made of Murano glass:

The sea theme is kept everywhere. Here, massive nautilus gargoyles support the archway leading to a lobby:

(And of course, Filipinos abound here. In Dubai, service organizations prefer to hire Filipinos because they have a reputation for providing better service compared to other nationalities. Discrimination!)

All in all, the Atlantis is a pretty impressive tourist trap. But the primary reason for going here would still probably be its Aquaventure water resort, the region's largest, featuring a kilometer of beachfront and 42 acres of water rides. Too bad we didn't have time to go there anymore. Next time.

Opening in September 2008, the resort will utilise the 46 hectares site with 17 hectares of water park amusement, further marine and entertainment attractions and a collection of some of the most renowned world-class chefs including Nobu, Giorgio Locatelli, Santi Santamaria and Michel Rostang. Atlantis, The Palm will offer an unprecedented entertainment centre, an impressive collection of luxury boutiques and shops and extensive meeting and convention facilities. It will be home to one of the largest open-air marine habitats in the world, with some 65,000 marine animals in lagoons and displays including The Lost chambers, a maze of underwater corridors and passageways providing a journey through ancient Atlantis.

The blog has taken a backseat in order to focus on more pressing matters.

Second of all, I've been traveling a lot to Atlanta for events...  Such as an inverent with Drumma Boy.  Preview coming soon.

Third, I've been approached by a few very talented people to work on their projects.  Sonny Vito and I will be working on a heavily themed mixtape soon (I'll be producing a portion of it along with Alex White).  Preview and website coming soon.  Singer Riva Precil and I will be working on an E.P. exploring R&B, soul, rock, and hip hop styles.

And Finally, I will be doing some work with SIKKIS clothing very very soon!

So as you can see, Its been a busy week.
