I like my fashion/ gossip magazines mostly because they are soo very pretty :) The fact that they grossly misquote prices and trick me into believing i can actually buy something advertised is beside the point. I was going through one today (i don't "flip" through my magazines, that just leaves me unsatisfied) and i saw these pictures where the "models" had some blue eyeliner on.  I had bought some a while back so at exactly 1:10 am i proceeded to put on the eyeliner, fix my hair and dab on some lip gloss for good measure. Not surprisingly i looked like a circus freak! I looked deader than Angelus on a bad day and the make up was not helping at all!

By now I had done all to delay the task at hand, i went into the kitchen with my laptop, put on some Abba from the Mamma Mia soundtrack and started with kneading the atta for the rotis we would have for sehri. This is when i had a stream of epiphanies! One glass bangles and soggy atta don't mix unless you like bits of blue glass coated with the stuff :P

Two my laptop will die on me just when I'm getting into the whole dancing queen thing with both hands covered in atta. Also if you did not catch it, i was listening to Abba in the kitchen while kneading flour at 1:30 am when the entire house was sleeping- i cannot cook, clean or prep food alone. I need music or my ma.

Epiphany number three arrived when i finshed plummeling the dough into submission in the warm kitchen and went to wash my hands; i looked in the mirror and noticed i looked quite... alive so physical labor did what no amount of makeup could manage.

Epiphany number four wasn't so much an epiphany as it was a warning against stupidity. I once again picked up chopped bits of green chilly because of which my fingers are on fire; at least my eyes are safe :) I think green chillies need to come with a warning label: TOUCH me not Bashiriya!!*

And so i sit here with my eyes lined in blue, eating a chicken roll a 3 am on my first day off from work :D me loves!!

De 'no plane' theorie gaat door.

We are at the end of week two for the ‘50ks In 30 Days’ challenge. I’m on 44,104 words for the challenge and almost finished the second WIP I wanted finished. I had hoped to have it finished today but with two days out with my saggy middle and my daughter and grandson staying with us tonight I didn’t quite make it.

Tomorrow I’m off to the movies with my grandson to see ‘Speed Racer’, the horse show we were supposed to go to has been cancelled due to the forecast of rain. So it is movies in the morning for me, then writing in the afternoon. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the last 5,896 words done to finish this story so I can get to work on the next one.

The next story is my erotic romance. I’m at 30,248 words for it so only have another 19,752 to go. If I can get this one finished this month as well that will give me four full MS’s to edit in July. Of course if I get my finger out and finish this one in the week, I still have another eight I can work on.  This will be good practice for me and November with NaNoWriMo, I plan to write an Historical romance, they are normally 70,000 to 100,000+ words, if I can write at this speed in November I just may get my Historical finished or very close to finished.

I’ve been giving some thought to some of my current WIP’s and I may change a couple to novellas. I’ll see how I go, last time I tried writing a novella it turned into a novel. So maybe if I try for a novel it may turn into a novella. Yes I know its Irish but I know what I mean.

Anyway I’m off to bed. I happy I got to do at least a little writing tonight. I have to be up early in the morning ready for my movie adventure and if I’m very lucky I may even get an hour’s writing in before I go. I girl can only hope.

For someone who has lived for roughly the same amount of time in Karachi and Dubai/Sharjah the word green holds ample significance. I have seen fields ending up in forests which lead to mountains which are green. The most beautiful lush emerald green. It rains, alot! Ab barish mein nahana nahin barish say bhagna parta hai :P The shot from my window was taken from my mum's cousins place, where im staying. The sense of privacy it affords is awesome. I have seen monkeys on the road and climbing up trees on the beach, fish swimming in clear sea water right where i stand in knee deep water. For someone who cannot snorkel (im blind, id need to have the goggle things made to my prescription) this was heaven. The pure joy of flinging sand on my brother's back and making sure it got in each crevice of his back while he tried to do the same to me and acting like imbeciles and 2 year olds simultaneously was unexplainable. I cant remember the last time i had so much fun at the beach. Dancing out of each other's way and throwing fistfuls of sand at each other while everyone looked on, screaming with mirth, lying down on the sand and letting the water in... irreplaceble.

Food here is an experience. For someone like me who is strangely picky its more or less a gamble which can lead to cheap delights or expensive disasters. Ive had street food, dhaba food, been introduced to water apple and caramelized coconut, eaten the best passion fruit sorbet and really stinky fish. Discovered how spicy thai food actually is (have you ever eaten tom yam soup with rice??), how the comfort of anda paratha (omelettes and fried bread) never fades no matter what country its cooked in or what it is called (roti chani with anda), the existance of instant tea which cant even be compared to the real thing.

In these 11 days, my body has relaxed like it hasnt in the last year. My sore shoulders have disappeared as have the tension headaches and i have realized the importance of letting go as well as how stupid my place of work is (no seriously, a guy wrote to me for help with print settings on excel, he couldnt get colums A-P on one sheet!!!) . i still have a week, im going to make the most of it :)

There is no way other than a slideshow for pictures to be posted as there are just too many to chose from, ive been acting like a paka Japanese tourist!
