Todo está en una Buena Fecha

Durante mi descanso, trabajé,  entre otras cosas en un libro sobre selección de fecha. Al trabajar en el libro, recordé mi propia experiencia al comenzar una aventura en la fecha equivocada (sí, aunque no lo crea, generalmente estamos tan ocupados en las necesidades de nuestros clientes que nos olvidamos de escoger una fecha buena para nuestras propias actividades).

Esta percepción retrospectiva, proporciona un gran ejemplo sobre asuntos de selección de fecha y la diferencia que una fecha buena puede establecer. Fue en el año 2006 y estaba preparando mi excursión anual a China. La excursión incluyó ir a al Tibet, algo que había planeado incluir en la Excursión de la Academia a China para el 2007. El viaje, fue un completo desastre. Todos los miembros de mi equipo fueron afectados  seriamente por la altura y uno estuvo tan enfermo que tuvo que ser ingresado al hospital por agua en los pulmones.

¡Y así que este año antes de tomar a mis estudiantes para la Excursión Anual a China de la Academia, tomamos toda clase de precauciones para cerciorarnos de que todo marchara sobre ruedas, inclusive escoger una buena fecha!

No sólo nadie se enfermó, sino que el grupo entero de estudiantes lo pasó de maravillas. ¿Así, por qué fue un viaje  tan desastroso y el otro muy bueno? Todo estuvo en la selección de fechas.

Para mi viaje de 2006 al Tibet, la salida se realizó un día que se considera Día Balanceado en el Sistema  de selección de fechas 12 Day Officer. Estos días generalmente se consideran como aceptables para iniciar un largo viaje. Sin embargo, cuando consideramos el Dong Gong, que es otro método de selección de fechas, entonces la fecha en que mi grupo y yo partimos para el Tibet era verdaderamente mala, porque ese era un día donde una estrella de fuego estaba presente y los viajes hacia el Norte podrían ser afectados por el Sha Qi Negro. Ahora, como el vuelo fue a Beijin y después a Chengdu antes de llegar a Lhasa,  nos dirigiamos al Norte todo el tiempo. Sin embargo, yo había partido desde Hong Kong y fui un poco menos afectado que mis compañeros de viaje que habían partido de Kuala Lumpur.

El momento exacto en que arribamos al Tibet  era un Día Equilibrado (Ding Re) de acuerdo con el método 12 Day Officer, pero de acuerdo con el método Dong Gong, este era un día inauspicioso, afligido por Bing Fu, la estrella de la enfermedad, y eso fue exactamente lo que ocurrió.

En contraste, este año el grupo de Mastery Academy y sus estudiantes aterrizaron en China en un Día Equilibrado según el sistema 12 Day Officer.

Además, según el sistema Dong Gong  tenia las estrellas: Virtud Celestial y Noble Virtud Mensual, el Espiral Amarillo, el Sándalo Púrpura, el Emperador Celestial, el Emperador Terrestre y  el Almacén Dorado.

Grandes hombres de China y sus tumbas

Este año, uno de los sitios que seleccioné para que mis estudiantes revisaran en China fue la tumba de la madre de Deng Xiao Peng. Puede ser que se esté preguntando por qué no estamos mirando la tumba del propio Deng.

Bien, en el Feng Shui, si deseamos saber porqué una persona particular ha alcanzado grandes cosas en su vida, no miramos su tumba, miramos la tumba de sus antepasados. Esto es porque el Feng Shui de las casas Yin afecta a los descendientes, así que si deseamos saber si alguien va a tener grandes logros, la respuesta es comprobar la tumba de sus padres o la tumba de los abuelos.

Eso explica ciertamente la fortuna y los destinos que diferencian a dos de los más grandes  líderes de China: Mao Zedong y Deng Xiao Peng.

Mao es inmortalizado en China como gran líder y primer “Emperador de nuestros días”, mientras que Deng, a pesar de ser uno de los líderes más importante del partido comunista de China, nunca llevó a cabo una posición oficial como jefe de estado.

El Feng Shui Yin de Mao se origina de la tumba de su abuelo mientras que el de Deng se deriva de la tumba de su madre. Esto es ya un fuerte indicador que revela las diversas trayectorias que los dos hombres tomarían.

En el Feng Shui, se dice: El “varón es Yang,  la hembra es Yin, padre es huesos, madre es carne.” Ahora, ¿Que quiere decir esto?

La “madre es carne” refiere al uso de Qi Yin, los talentos y las habilidades que se ganan con la experiencia, observación y con estudio. “Padre es huesos” se refiere a lo que ya está en ti al momento del nacimiento, - talento latente, habilidades y al carácter  innato.

La habilidad de liderazgo de Mao y su carisma le llegan con el nacimiento  de manera innata mientras que Deng tuvo que aprender el difícil camino de alcanzar la cima.

Entre las dos tumbas, la del abuelo de Mao, que está en la cima de una magnifica colina, con un  Guardián  Norte (Bei Chen Xing) cerrando la boca de agua del área, es definitivamente superior y la de la madre de Deng es buena, pero es una Formación Básica Cinco Pétalos de Loto.

La tumba del abuelo de Mao tiene algunas características típicas de la Formación Creador de Emperadores, mientras que la tumba de la madre de Deng deriva su Qi de la Formación Básica Cinco Pétalos de Loto. El poder de Deng no es verdadero poder, pero tomará  largo tiempo asegurarlo,  tal como el loto toma largo tiempo en emerger entre las aguas pantanosas. El florecimiento del loto no es duradero, como el poder de Deng que no logra influir por mucho tiempo.

Los hijos de ambos, de Mao y de Deng no alcanzaron posiciones de gran poder e influencia. Esto es porque sus lugares de enterramiento no tienen varios estratos de Dragones que entran, sino solo un punto meridiano. Esto indica poder solo a los descendientes inmediatos, no un poder duradero a través de generaciones que pueden crear una dinastía.

Este es el contraste de las tumbas de los ancestros de los fundadores de las dinastías Ming y Ping, donde hay extensos dragones que entran y montanas de apoyo detrás del punto principal, indicando un largo tiempo de poder- 12 generaciones para ser exactos.

¿Que hace que una persona se vuelva loca?

Algunos de mis alumnos me enviaron  mensajes de texto mientras estaba en China, preguntando acerca del Bazi de un hombre joven  que arrasó con todos en la Universidad Tecnológica de Virginia en los Estados Unidos.

Basado en información del dominio público, tomé su fecha de nacimiento y esta es la carta Bazi de Chou Seung Hui, el pistolero coreano:

Metal Xin nacido en Buey (Chou) que es parte del invierno. En Bazi usamos la frase “Agua y Metal demasiadas emociones” y su carta resume eso. Este joven estaba emocionalmente inestable.

Como nació en Corea y emigró a los Estados Unidos, este movimiento afectó su carta negativamente porque la dirección Oeste está asociada con el elemento metal. Podría haber sido mejor para su salud mental permanecer en Corea, en el este, que es Madera.

Basado en los cálculos de sus pilares de la suerte, el aún podría estar en el periodo de suerte Gui Hai, eso significa que su pilar del año está en una formación Fu Yin con su pilar de la suerte.

Fu Yin se refiere a un evento triste y de llanto. Su pilar no solo está en una formación Fu Yin, sino que además hay un auto castigo entre su pilar del año, su pilar de la suerte y el pilar anual de 2007. De ahí que esta persona esté profundamente afectada emocionalmente  y muy  inestable durante este año.

El Fu Yin también explica el suicidio, el cual es frecuentemente referenciado en la literatura antigua  Bazi como San Ming Tung Hui que dice que un Fu Yin trae tristeza, comportamientos autodestructivos o aún la muerte

El pilar del año representa la apariencia de la persona y el sentimiento de gratitud. Cuando este es afectado la persona se siente reprimida y perturbada

Como la estrella afectada es su Producción Impropia (Shang Guan), el está rebelde, enojado y quiere probarle a los demás que están equivocados en la percepción que tienen de el

Por supuesto que hay más acerca de esta carta, pero para mantener el interés en el tema, voy a hacerlo breve y agradable.

Today is the day that I am going to throw my life away. I'm going to empty every drawer, every cupboard, every nook and cranny, put it all into one big pile and then aim to put a good 70% of it into bin bags or send it to a charity shop (although seriously, just because it's for charity doesn't mean I should subject the patrons of Oxfam/Mind/[insert charity shop name here] with out of season, out of order, holey and battered attire). Bin bags it is then.

It's going to feel SO GOOD. It'll be like feng shui for my mind - currently it's in a permanent state of kerfuffled, confuzzled, discombobulated, bamboozled-ness (oh I love words) and I think if I organise my environment, perhaps the thought-clutter will clear too. Plus, I LOVE a clear out. It gives me another reason to go shopping for more stuff. It gives me a reason to be resourceful with what I'm left with - I love how I find old clothes I'd forgotten about and find that they go perfectly with newer apparel I've acquired.

It'll also give me the perfect excuse to rumage through my 'memory box(es)', a shoe box inside a big plastic box (because the contents keep on growing), both full of photos, leaflets, tickets, cards, letters and general junk from school days, university, friendships, very old boyfriends and life with Kiwi. Last time I delved back in time, through the depths of my memory box(es), I found a load of old negatives and sent them off to see what secrets lay in store. In return I received a CD full of incriminatingly bad hairstyles, brace-filled smiles and old school fashions. The negatives were from photos I'd taken between the ages of 15 and 16 and had previously been used in my own, homemade year book (which I also relocated, bonus!). Ooh the nostalgia, it feels good to look back at the days before life became less carefree. These are the friends I left behind when I moved up North, the friends who moulded me - I am my school friends, my ex-boyfriends, my first love. They are the friends who I grew up with, laughed with, cried with, partied with, first drank alcohol and smoked (both cigarettes and the good stuff) with. New Zealand will be like a second coming for me, I can do all those things for the first time again (obviously the first time in New Zealand), but for me it'll feel brand new - I feel really lucky in that respect.

La mayoría de los autores cuando escriben un libro dedican unas páginas a contarnos algo del proceso, personalmente disfruto mucho de este espacio cuando comienzo una nueva lectura.

Cuando empecé a escribir un libro me di cuenta que, aunque este apartado suele aparecer al principio de la obra, necesitaba haberla concluido para desarrollarlo. A lo largo de las páginas voy describiendo mi visión tanto técnica como práctica del arte del Feng Shui, por ello, me apeteció acabar compartiendo con mis lectores como, yo misma, lo había utilizado en este proyecto.

En ese momento me surgió la idea de crear una forma de ayudar a otros a practicar Feng Shui, tal y como yo lo hago. Así es como nació el Seminario, un espacio en donde poder explicar como llevar a la práctica el Feng Shui, es decir, como asegurarnos que nuestro entorno nos apoya en la consecución de nuestros objetivos. Además en esta jornada puedo demostrar los beneficios que esta aplicación puede aportar y contestar a todas las dudas que surgen.

Sin embargo, me doy cuenta que cuando llega la hora de poner en práctica todos los conceptos aparecen de nuevo las dudas y los asistentes se vuelven algo indecisos, necesitan más apoyo. Entonces decido ir más allá y se me ocurre hacer un programa de acompañamiento para practicar Feng Shui: “Cuarentena Feng Shui”.

Puesto que entiendo que la aplicación de Feng Shui es una herramienta ideal para iniciar una dinámica positiva de cambio, la idea de los cuarenta días no fue casual. Se trata de un periodo que la naturaleza ha elegido para ciertos procesos de renovación y, que nuestra cultura ha reutilizado como símbolo (los cuarenta días del diluvio universal, la cuarentena tras el alumbramiento, la cuaresma…).

La propuesta consiste en ayudar al futuro practicante de Feng Shui a descubrir cuales son sus objetivos y las herramientas con las que cuenta o necesitaría desarrollar para conseguirlos. Este análisis se realiza en cada una de las aspiraciones de la vida, tal y como esta técnica propone: carrera profesional, nuevos proyectos, salud, éxito, reconocimiento social, compromiso, creatividad y liderazgo.

I once spent endless summer mornings, barefoot on dew drenched grass, hunting four leaf clovers. I was convinced they were deposited overnight by fairys and elven folk as a special treat just for me. I adored finding them and pressing the precious clovers in my Bible. I thought, if I found a four leaf or a five leaf clover, I was receiving special blessings.

Years later in the midst of studying feng shui, I rememebered my little lucky clover charms. It occured to me it wasn't so much the discovery of the charm that made me feel lucky, as it was the feeling of fortune washing over me. Feng shui, is , after all, the placement of objects in one's environment to enhance certain areas in life. I realized, as I arranged my desk in perfect feng shui order, that even though I was physically making changes, what was most profound was the change inside myself. As I placed candles, small fountains and flowers, I felt inner peace and tranquility. My self talk improved and my mood lightened.

Magic is where we make it and what we believe it to be. Whether it's a lucky pick, a guitar that is just right or a piece of ritual jewelry we wear, musicians link to the spirit of the universe via the perceived magic in the object. When you consider wood and metal are two essential universal elements as well as building elements in instruments, it's easy to understand a musicians unique connection to the elements that connect him or her to source and energy.

Whether your talisman is a fetish, a charm, jewelry or a special stone gleaned from nature, recognize it as an object connecting you to an emotion. You choose to be lucky. You choose to be successful and happy and spirit filled. Talisman or no, summoning good luck is a matter of mind- not of matter.

I don't watch the news and read very little of the newspaper.  I choose not to be part of the fear and lack that most news stories focus on.  That doesn't mean I don't know what's going on.  It's very easy to tap into the pulse of our economic times, political adventures and other news worthy stories because it's everywhere.  It's amazing how much I know without even trying.  And that's how I like it, I dip my toe into the flow of what's happening without jumping in and getting swept away by the current.  I am able to keep my focus on what makes a positive difference in my life and move forward without being caught up in the drama swirling all around me.  As I've gotten older, I find drama extremely fatiguing and chose not to engage as I am able.

Another factor that makes a huge difference in our lives, is that my husband and I created a living space that feels uplighting, inspiring, safe, and nuturing.   We incorporated chi enhancers with music, colors, smells, objects, furnishings and art that are chosen to create a vibe of health, abundance and well-being.  For example, in my office I have painted the walls a color that is very uplifting to me, hung art that I made myself, arranged the furniture to keep "chi" flowing easily, address clutter, play music while I work (when possible), light incense and candles regularly, added live plants, and placed meaningful objects on my office altar that includes a small fountain.  Over time, my husband and I did the same thing in our entire home. It's taken about eight years, and the payoff has been immeasurable.

The result of our diligent and purposeful creation of all our rooms, is we are refreshed and rejuvenated by our home.  Then, we are better able to be our best "out" in the world doing our work.  Our home supports us in every way, physically, emotional, mentally and spiritually.  It's like eating specific food in preparation for a running marathon.  The proper food provides the fuel in a vital, efficient way to best run in the race.  The same is true in our physical environments.  Our homes provide fuel for our bodies so we can operate efficiently and effectively "out" there.  I call that creating sacred space.  Creating space that honors our body temple on all levels.  Our sacred space can also provide rejuvenation, inspiration, etc. to all who spend time there.  It's a gift we give to ourselves and others.  Especially now with all the craziness happening all around us.

We deserve it and so do you.

While reading my mail from Yahoo! Groups, here are some exchange of messages from an individual asking an elaboration on what constitutes Traditional/Classical Feng Shui from New Age Feng Shui:

I have been lurking for a while here, reading the interesting exchanges among
the group members. One thing that has perked my attention is something that it
is often repeated like everyone knew what it meant, and unfortunately, I don't.

For instance, Dr. Rob in a recent note wrote:

My query is this. What is considered to be "Traditional" Feng Shui? What is it
that makes it "traditional"?

I understand that many times this is a term used to contrast the approach used
by the followers of Dr. Lin Yun. I am told that Master Lin Yun invented a lot
of his stuff, and so, it is ot traditional. Said that and taking into account
this consideration, is there anything else that we should know in order to judge
a system to be traditional?

What are the principles by which we can judge that Master Lin Yun's approach is
NOT traditional?

What is the approach of Master Joseph Yu that makes it traditional?

What makes the system advocated by Master Larry Sang traditional?

What are the reasons why we could consider Master Raymond Lo Feng Shui
traditional?

Hi,

Traditional feng shui practiced by masters Lo, Sang & Yu is based on,
and can be traced to, classical works done by masters from anywhere
during the Ming to Ching dynasty over in China thousands of years ago.
Hence the use of the word "traditional" or "classical" to
differentiate between the different kinds of modern feng shui out there.

The feng shui practiced by master Lin Yun is self-derived based on the
bagua and is not based on any of the original works and formulas by
the ancient chinese masters. Also his feng shui methods are only in
use only recently (started from the nineteen-eighties i think) so it
can hardly be considered "traditional".

My two cents worth.

Consequently, Stephen Skinner, an established researcher and scholar on Classical Feng Shui posts that:

The thing that distinguished traditional/classical feng shui from
modern Lin Yun style feng shui, is the use of the lup pan. The luo
pan is the traditional Chinese compass. It is used by Raymond Lo,
Larry Sang, Josephe Yu, Peter Leung, all traditional masters, and in
fact by every feng shui master practicing in Asia today, and for the
last 2000 years.

If this is not used, then the feng shui is not traditional, not from
China, and is a simplified system that was invented in the mid 1980s
in the US.

If we try to dig into the terms "Classical" and "Traditional", we can say that the word TRADITIONAL is a synonym for the word CLASSICAL. Thus, it is only right for us to define the word CLASSICAL.

Merriam-Webster defines Classical as:

(1): of or relating to a form or system considered of first significance in earlier times

while Princeton University's Wordnet defines Classical as the following:

or relating to the most highly developed stage of an earlier civilisation and its culture; "classic Cinese pottery" ; authoritative: of recognized authority or excellence; "the definitive work on Greece"; "classical methods of navigation"

Often, in Ancient China as to where we attribute the source of our Ancient Study and Art, Classical Feng Shui is seriously studied, calculated and given strict observance to by its students. Much like how people undertake field trips to moutainous structures, gigantic water formations, etc. A lot of Classical Texts were written on Feng Shui, to name a few were the Green Satchel Classics, Zang Shu, Eight Mansions, etc. Feng Shui back then was backed by respected scholars and did had a few charlatans that undertook the study. Why? Because the Art and Study of Feng Shui was strictly guarded and only handed down from generations to generations of Master to Student. And from these lineages gave rise to new discoveries and additional CLASSICAL Feng Shui methodologies employed by the student. The name them are the San He and San Yuan Schools or Methodologies of Feng Shui. These are the respected schools of Feng Shui. A long time ago, these 2 schools or should we say "methodologies" were actually rivals in their own rights as each school remained independent from the other. But as time passed and students of Classical Feng Shui studied these 2 schools, we soon came to realize that each had its own strength and weakness thus the 2 methodologies of San He and San Yuan should be applied.

This is the grip of Classical Feng Shui vs. New Age Feng Shui. Classical Feng Shui having been established for centuries and millenia ago has a firm stand with a lot of Masters studying and keeping the art alive. Unlike New Age Feng Shui which is still yet to grasp its true nature as nothing but an obvious desire of a man to simplify the tenets of Feng Shui to market it to the needs of Western Society which defies the purpose of Feng Shui which is to bring each man to his true potential.

Since the core competency of a Feng Shui practitioner is to read and analyze Qi and to work with Qi, we need to know the different meanings of Qi used by the Chinese in different context. There are at least four ways of looking at the meaning of Qi:

 1) “Qi” seen as a “concrete thing” – a definite object in contrast to the Dao, which has neither spatial restriction nor physical form, that which is manifested. For example, the weather (Tian Qi) or our breath (Qi) are forms of manifested qi.

 2) “Qi” seen as a “subtle, incipient, actuating force” which is not yet visible - that which is hidden. For example, the term "Xing Qi" in Feng Shui where 'Xing' is refer to the physical form of an object and "Qi" is its formless quality hidden behind the form.

 3) “Qi” seen as a “material force” that has both matter and energy, as opposed to the concept of “Li” or Principle. For example, in TCM, Qi denotes the psycho-physiological power associated with blood and breath – Vital Qi that keeps us alive.

 4) “Qi” seen as a “concept of synergy” – a “field” of different things that are not related but finally connected together. So when we say this house has "Sheng Qi" it means a certain set of conditons is being satisfied to make the place come alive. 

The Chinese often add an extra character to the character Qi to give it a more precise meaning. For example, the ones I mentioned: “Sheng Qi”, “Vital Qi”, "Xing Qi" and "Tian Qi”. Onr has to be careful in what context or situation the word Qi is used, for example, the term "shen qi" mentioned ealier, it could mean being angry when you are having an argument with your girlfriend or it could mean a field of life enhancing qi when you are doing a Feng Shui consultation.

the last album i was on was Steve's, but my own was in 2006. this has been a personal source of controversy for me whether or not to release another album on CD or go completely digital.

everyone i know (i mean consumer here) goes the digital route. i'm the only person in my neck of the woods that still listens to CDs and actually BUYS ALBUMS. *sigh* (woe is the indie artist! snerk.)

Hoy 8/8/08 parece ser un día especialmente auspicioso, pero para el consultor de Feng Shui, Joey Yap, el número no es lo que importa si no los signos astrológicos conectados a el.

El Chino esta especialmente vinculado con el número ocho ya que es asociado con prosperidad. Algunas veces, llegan hasta el extremo de pagar altos precios por placas de autos con ese número y si es posible, también quieren que el número de su casa tenga ese digito.

El consultor de Feng Shui y fundador del Mastery Academy de Metafísica China, Joey Yap, explicó este hábito de los ciudadanos chinos diciendo “muchas personas no están conscientes del significado astrológico que esta asociado con los números".

Ellos creen que el ocho es sinónimo de “prosperidad” porque al pronunciar el carácter chino suena como prosperidad. Seleccionan fechas como 8, 18 o 28 solo porque suenan bien. A veces, sin embargo tienden a exagerar, como se puede ver en la cantidad de bodas pautadas para los 8, 18 y 28 de cada mes, y si la fecha resulta ser un domingo, será vendido sin titubear.

Aun así, Yap apuntó que si el 8 es una buena fecha por que al pronunciar el carácter suena bien, entonces el 14 de febrero seguramente sería una muy mala, ya que 14 suena como la frase china “muerte segura”

“La astrología tradicional y la selección de fechas se basan en cálculos astrológicos por las constelaciones, las estrellas y los campos de energía poseídos por esas estrellas, para así determinar lo tipos de actividades que encajen perfecto en esas fechas” señala Yap.

Día Triple Ocho

“Lo que el día tiene es mas importante; el día con el numero ocho puede contener muchos tipos de energías diferentes. Simplemente sucedió que hoy tiene razonablemente buenas estrellas, dice Yap

Cuando se selecciona un día para eventos auspiciosos, necesitamos ver que estrellas están presentes en esos días.

Coincidentemente, hoy tenemos presentes todas estas buenas estrellas: Felicidad del Cielo (armonía en el matrimonio), 3 Armonías (conexiones laborales), Prosperidad Celestial (buena para negocio), Descendientes Continuos (buena para los descendientes) Noble Celestial (presencia de gente noble) y Almacén de la Tierra (comprar activos).

Un Día así es extremadamente bueno para matrimonios y actividades comerciales.

Generalmente, es un buen día desde todos los puntos pero se han visto días mejores, ciertamente no es el mejor día del calendario!

Hoy también es bueno para el matrimonio ya que contiene el Hexagrama de la Unidad, el cual es el hexagrama Tai. Sin embargo, el día puede que no sea auspicioso para ciertas personas (basándose en su carta BaZi), tales como las nacidas en el año del Perro y/o pertenecientes al Fuego Yang, el Metal Yin y Tierra Yin.

Este día también es un Día Éxito y además tiene la auspiciosa estrella Golden Lock. Añade Yap.

El dice que el día no es recomendable para entierros por la presencia de la estrella Funeral Doble. Tampoco es bueno para cirugías o situaciones que amenacen la vida, por la presencia de la estrella Desastre de Sangre, que básicamente representa complicaciones.

Tampoco un buen día para empezar trabajos de construcción por la estrella Fuego Terrenal que indica muchas complicaciones con los trabajos de tierra, especialmente en las áreas del noreste.

Este día se dice que tiene muchas estrellas auxiliares positivas, tal como la Felicidad del cielo. Pero ¿Como estas estrellas afectan la vida de una persona?

Las estrellas auxiliares son energías o constelaciones presentes en un día particular y poseen cierta frecuencia que es apta para ciertas actividades. El que sea apto para una persona depende de su “maquillaje” astrológico. Es importante tomar eso en cuenta. Dice Yap.

Cuando un día no es bueno para aquellos nacidos bajo cierto signo animal, significa que las frecuencias de las estrellas no le son compatibles.

8 de Agosto y China

¿Es hoy un buen día para china? Antes de seccionar la fecha, es pertinente ver a los días antes del día y no al día en si.

El arte de selección de fechas no es solo sobre elegir el día correcto. Me pregunto si ellos saben que el primero de agosto hubo un eclipse total de sol y la ruta del eclipse paso desde Rusia  hasta china, señalo Yap.

Cada vez que sucede un eclipse tiene un efecto negativo de corto plazo en los países o áreas por el cual ocurrió el eclipse. Así que, aunque hoy es un buen día, los poderes están disminuidos por el eclipse que tuvo lugar el primero de agosto.

Baby Boom

En china, las madres quieren que sus hijos nazcan en la apertura de las olimpiadas, ya que creen que es un día de suerte, pero ¿Es realmente un día de suerte para los bebes? Yap no lo cree.

Es un buen día para actividades pero no un buen día para que nazcan los niños, ya que este día pertenece a la Estrella Solitaria. Los niños nacidos en este día les será difícil conseguir dinero y riquezas mientras que a las niñas nacidas este día tendrán malos matrimonios. Dice Yap.

No tienes que nacer en un día apto para actividades, ese día puede ser bueno para actividades en particular pero cada individuo tiene otra cosa llamada Camino del Destino que hay que considerar. No es suficiente con considerar un buen día en términos de actividades sino más bien en el contexto del camino del destino de una persona. Dice Yap.

“The big picture is without form.” Lao Tze. 

Flying into Turin over the Alps must be one of the most breathtaking aerial approaches on earth: comparable to Hong Kong or Nice. As my plane descended, the undercarriage felt as if it might scrape the roof of the Superga, the magnificent Savoy palace that stands like a sentinel above the city which is itself divided by the winding River Po. This is real feng shui: real mountains, real wind and real water. Turin is a location that has commanded the Italian peninsula since at least the 1^st millennium BCE.

Sarawaggi is what keynote speaker Derek Walters called it: the mysterious quality that brings pilgrims to a location – Stonehenge, the Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, standing stones lost in the wilds of Armenia – for no quantifiable reason.

I had a little trouble with the Turin Airport security X-rays which found my clear quartz wand, along with my trusty moldavite fragment in my jacket pocket.

“You write with this?” the baffled security officer asked, brandishing it like a stylus.

“No I point it,” I replied and he shrugged and waved me on as only an Italian can.

Whatever it is, sarawaggi enticed several hundred to Turin the weekend of  the 18^th September including some of the most fascinating, creative and authoritative thinkers on feng shui. These included designers, practitioners, writers, healer, enthusiasts and above all architects, all there to see how their various disciplines might marry to design a sustainable world for the future.

Principal among these was feng shui architect Howard Choy who may lead the world in linking these two spheres. Howard opened proceedings with a deft introduction that placed feng shui and architecture right away into their appropriate relationship with the tao (or way) This was typically both definitive and clear. The Chinese character for “think,” he informed us, differs from that for “observe” by the addition of the ideogram for “heart.” So to think is to observe with heart.

“We don’t say,” he said, inviting us to both think deeply and observe “That feng shui is a science but that we can study it scientifically.”

Attilio Andreini followed with a discussion of the traditional tale of Zhuang Tze and the jumping fish which led to a lively end-of-session panel discussion. How did Zhuang Tze know how the fish felt? You had to be there.

Welsh-born Jill Lander who practices feng shui on the Chinese mainland, graciously tolerated an introduction as English and gave a masterful and visually impressive exposition of the feng shui of Hong Kong, the fragrant harbour, and the threats and opportunities that may lie in its future. Was the Lippo Centre doomed from the start? What will be the future of Lantau Island? This was among the most talked-about speeches.

As was that of Mauro Aresu and Arianna Mendo who next told of their discovery in Sardinia of stone structures holding measurable healing energies. This exercise in the marriage of architecture, archaeology and feng shui in practice, caught the imagination of the audience which again led to a series of questions in the panel discussion.

Equally ground-breaking was Anthony Ashworth’s absorbing account of his field research into the geomancy of sub-Saharan Africa and his meetings with Credo, the mutwa, or holder of ancient knowledge. Who knows where this may lead?  He was followed by Manuela Gatti who had put her money where her mouth was by building business premises of sustainable materials in keeping with feng shui principles. Next Vastu Shastra Master Giulia Bellentani’s account of basic Vastu was so sensitive, thorough and expert, it was hard to believe she was both so young and born in Italy. Namaste! 

As the conference drew on it became more and more clear that Turin, World Design Capital 2008 was the logical venue. Set in the Po valley among the foothills of the Alps, themselves studded with the historic  palaces of the Italian Kings, the streets of Torino are laid out in a grid much like Paris or Washington DC. If you look all the way along them in any direction your eye catches distant green hills. The prescient Savoys also incidentally, knowing that being in the shadow of the Alps made for above-average rainfall, arranged for pavements throughout the city centre to be sheltered with cloisters so that (as long as you don’t cross a road) you can shop all day without getting wet.

Turin native and Co-organiser Carlo Amedeo Reyneri di Lagnasco’s beautifully illustrated presentation argued convincingly for connections between the power of the Savoy family and the Piemontese landscape.

Papers followed from authorities in disciplines as diverse as semiotics, martial arts and urban planning. Civil engineer Livio Dezzani (who brought Italian design to the Chinese eco-city of Caofeidian) and architect Claudio Greco (who gave us an overview of the evolution of the Beijing Olympic facilities) both showed how European design like feng shui, can be applied  anywhere in the world.

The Hollywood-based Simona Mainini quoted Frank Lloyd Wright: “Form follows function,” she told us and added that “Function follows the energy.” Simona, a long-time student of Feng Shui Master Larry Sang, served her architectural apprenticeship with Eric Lloyd Wright, grandson of Frank, whose holistic vision of course predated this Congress by more than half a century. Simona  went on to show how good drafting and strict adherence to the traditional meanings of flying star patterns could lead to almost supernatural results.

Joseph Yu alumnus Silvia Sacchi did something similar a little later with the addition of her own distinctive spiritual insight. Bernardino Chiaia showed how nature’s mastery of the right design for the right function was a perfect model for the architect and Ermanno Bellucci made silicon sound sexy.

All the way from British Columbia, Teresa Min Yee Hwang by showing how a professional feng shui consultant does her job, inspired many who aspire to her skills.

Among other outstanding presentations were Roberto Marrocchesi (described by the absent Jon Sandifer as a true gent, a very special soul) and his moving account of the use of feng shui in rebuilding a family’s life after the death of a child brought tears to the eyes of many. Francesco Rossena took events to new heights by having the audience physically practice tai chi with him and the sheer energy of Madhu Patel brought a standing ovation.

Other highlights were the irrepressible Priscilla Braccesi who spoke with enormous enthusiasm and authority, without notes about the feng shui of Milan, past, present and future. The youthful Master Jin Peh explained the differences between the various types of luo pan with such clarity that when Derek Waltersshowed one on a slide the next day, whispers could be heard saying “Sam He…no. Zong He”.

Master Derek, sometimes called the Godfather of Feng Shui because of his seminal books on the subject, gave two talks linked by the title Mirrors of the Heavens and showed why many continue to consider him the leading edge in the understanding of the 28 Lunar Mansions and indeed Chinese Astrology.

With great clarity, Gyda Anders posed important questions about the role of traditional feng shui in modern architecture as did Munich-based Michael Rappwho explained movingly how feng shui had put him back in touch with why he had become an architect and demonstrated how a small number of subtle changes could transform workmanlike architecture into homes that put human wellbeing first.

Again and again this theme of mutual learning arose and it was in the examination of it that this gathering truly caught fire as healers, earth acupuncturists and interior designers found common ground. If this world threatened by over-consumption, inequitable distribution of wealth, global warming and a plethora of philosophical conflicts is to emerge into the 1^st century let alone flourish, it may be that the connections made here in Turin over this weekend will prove to be key to it.

This point was emphasised by Richard Creightmore, perhaps the world’s leading authority on geopathic stress, who dazzled not so much with his knowledge of the problem as with his concentration on doing whatever it took to heal the stricken planet.

Co-organiser Richard Ashworth took his reputation in both hands by making predictions for 2009 based on Four Pillars theory, evincing an appropriate combination of respect and bafflement. Then on the Sunday, as planned, Jon Sandifer failed to turn up, appearing on a big screen explaining the principles of Nine Star Ki so as to show why he as a 2 Earth, could not safely have made a flight to Turin at this time.

Giulio Mondini from the Faculty of Architecture wound the Congress up with encouraging words about the lessons learned and possible future gatherings.

Congratulations are due to Richard Ashworth and Carlo Reyneri for putting this together as well as thanks to Silvia Sacchi for her supportive role and Laura di Stefano and her OSC team for the flawless administration. Also to be mentioned in despatches are Carlo’s tireless partner Marietta whose multiple contributions included recruiting and coordinating with OSC.

I was a little reluctant to talk about this element of Feng Shui: because its, well not only is it not REALLY feng shui, its also the most personal to me. But I couldn't really hide the secret of manifestation from my Comeback Lovlies because its also THE MOST EFFECTIVE.

 Vision boards are pictorial representations of that in which you want to attract into your life.

The one pictured (above), is probably the 5th I've actually done. They are very personal, so the only reason I decided to share this board is that I am working on another which is bigger and grander. The above was is in my work space, where I spend most of my time.  I often hide them if I'm having people over who don't quite embrace concepts of creative visualization, metaphysics etc., because negative thoughts (intentional or otherwise) can hamper the energy that surrounds manifestation of the vision board.

People often ask me if they work. And the only reply that I have is that my last two dream cars that I've gotten FIRST appeared on my board. My first three or four vision boards were all about the material stuff, over the last several years I've expanded them to include relationships I want to attract as well as philanthropic things I want to start as well. And of course, my board will always have a little bling (this time the Maserati Granturismo). Blame my momma for that, she named me after a blue box with a white ribbon.

Si Usted ha nacido bajo el signo del Gallo es necesario que se prepare para recibir un mes que lo lleva a vivir desafíos causados por su intrépida y/o descuidada acción.

Con la llegada del mes de Octubre las personas nacidas bajo el signo del Perro, enfrentan un cúmulo de situaciones que los golpean económicamente y personalmente.

Aunque hay buenas energías que promueven los ascensos y éxito económico, estas no se mueven, y así mismo se estancan sus proyectos y relaciones. Los trabajos y dinero que esperaban, se envuelven en trancas que difícilmente resulten.

Las personas que han nacido en el año del Caballo encuentran en Octubre un mes muy movido por tanto compromiso social. Sociedades, propuestas de trabajos en grupo, reuniones serán la tónica de estos treinta días.

Las personas que han nacido bajo el signo del Dragón, con el mes de Octubre les llegan los cambios en sus diferentes áreas de vida. Durante el mes, se producen movimientos, frecuentes viajes o un cambio de casa, ciudad, país, incluso de oficina o puesto de trabajo.

Aunque las oportunidades de dinero aparecen con el mes, es mejor ir con calma si no tienen la opción de aplazarlas. No es conveniente exponerse a hacer grandes inversiones, ni ampliar el negocio o endeudarse porque seguramente con el tiempo tienen como resultado una pérdida. Definitivamente es mejor que aplacen las cosas importantes que tenían programadas para estos treinta días. Guardar un perfil bajo y frenar los gastos ayuda a no exponerse a recibir más problemas en el futuro.

Las relaciones familiares y personales estarán teñidas de discordias, problemas, poco entendimiento. Por lo que es mejor no enfrentarse ni dejarse involucrar en situaciones que finalmente no los dejen nada bueno.

La salud puede afectarse a causa de accidentes, por lo que deben estar muy atentos a todo lo que hagan. Las personas mayores también se exponen a accidentes o tienden a enfermar, razón por la cual, una visita al médico no está de más.

Con la llegada del mes de Octubre las personas que han nacido en un año de la Rata tienen treinta días para probarse a sí mismos que tan valientes y mejores son frente a sus rivales y competencia. Sienten que las metas propuestas van por buen camino y con más disciplina y organización verán que es más fácil conseguir todo lo proyectado.

En el plano de las relaciones familiares encuentran algunos tropiezos que disminuyen la paz y armonía con quienes están alrededor. No vale la pena dejarse afectar emocionalmente por estos impases, más bien reflexionar y buscar la forma de ser más comprensivos y flexibles, aunque para ello, finalmente tengan que bajar la cabeza para abrir el canal de comunicación y limar asperezas.

La salud es quizá el punto más débil durante el mes y esto es a causa de posibles accidentes que encuentran por el camino. Si tienen que viajar, extremen las medidas de seguridad.

El mes de Octubre para las personas que han nacido bajo el signo Buey llega con la suerte del dinero y que además les acompaña esa fuerza interior que los llena de seguridad y confianza para dirigir todas sus acciones en la búsqueda de esas oportunidades con las que verán incrementar su capital.

Los planes y proyectos se cumplen aunque para ello tengan que salvar algunos obstáculos. Un consejo que les va a ahorrar problemas… No sean tan confiados!

Para los Tigres, Octubre es un mes que les lleva al tope las emociones y en el caso de no ser más racionales y objetivos seguramente les va a afectar todas las áreas de vida.

Tienen el apoyo de personas mayores y con más experiencia, siendo ellos los que pueden orientarlos en los momentos que más lo necesitan, por lo tanto, no duden en buscar su ayuda para obtener sus sabios consejos y clara dirección.

La confianza y seguridad interior que siempre han tenido, es posible que durante el mes se tambalee, lo que puede llevarlos a sentir que se frenan y no avanzan en sus planes y proyectos. Un poco de esfuerzo, más conciencia, fuerza de voluntad, confianza, les ayudará a salir adelante!.

La salud no se ve bien aspectada durante el mes, más a causa de accidentes que llegan de la nada. Mientras conduzcan o se movilicen tomen todas las medidas de seguridad, porque así mismo se van a ahorrar muchas molestias.
