The Russian foolishly left the court yesterday after a disputed line call in a doubles match with Chris Haggard.

I'm sure one of the first and most important match tips drilled into youngsters is to not let a line call upset your game and that sometimes you may have to accept a dodgy one and get on with it.

Tursunov was obviously never given this advice and I find it unbelievable that this has happened in a professional tournament.

How embarassing for his partner Chris Haggard who I'm sure would have been furious at his actions.

The pair were defaulted out of the doubles event and Tursunov was then chucked out of the singles by the tournament supervisor giving Thomas Johansson a walkover into the quarters. Great decision.

In one scene of the movie Jesus Camp, Pastor Ted Haggard jokes about how "if you send him $1000 dollars he will not tell your wife what you did last night". He should have used the advice on himself. This was also the same gay guy that was having weekly teleconferences with President Bush. Wonder what advice he was giving him?

As the directors of the film Jesus Camp we feel the need to respond to Pastor Ted Haggard’s comments on our documentary. As a co-directing team, we embark on each new project with two qualities: a healthy amount of curiosity—we’ll be living and breathing the subject for over a year—and with the utmost respect for our subjects. We make films to not just simply entertain, but as a way to learn about the myriad different lifestyles that together form the human experience. We see making non-fiction films as a way for our viewers and ourselves to connect with others.

When we heard that that Pastor Haggard has described us as having an “agenda” we were alarmed. Of course, there are plenty of filmmakers that do make films with a political or personal agenda, but our conscience is clear that we aren’t among them. We filmed with an open-mind and with a beginner’s eye (neither of us are Evangelicals) that allowed the story to emerge in a natural way.

As for accusing us of portraying our protagonists (people whom we’ve grown close to over the past year) “sinister,” this is a disturbing charge. Perhaps Pastor Haggard is projecting his own point of view on the film’s characters, as we absolutely do not see them as such, and went out of our way too make sure that they were shown in a human, three-dimensional light. The children come across as kind, passionate and intelligent. Pastor Becky Fischer is a very likeable and real person, both on and off the screen.

Pastor Haggard is the only person in Jesus Camp who has a problem with how he was portrayed, and with the film as a whole. All the others in the movie feel it is accurate and fair and are excited about people seeing it. The subjects in the film very much identify themselves as part of the Evangelical family and are hurt and stung by Pastor Haggard's wholesale and somewhat venomous rejection of them and the film. While they do identify themselves as Charismatics and Pentecostals, they feel (and we agree) that they have much more in common with the greater Evangelical movement—their morals, values, and political beliefs—than they have differences. For Pastor Haggard to marginalize and dismiss them by labeling them a “sub-group” seems unfair, mean spirited and unproductive.

Filmari Haggard si Amorphis pe MHTV

Haggard s-a gandit la fani mai mult decat orice alta formatie care ne-a vizitat tara. Cu o seara inainte, dupa ce au terminat de cantat, au anuntat audienta ca asteapta in culise pentru o sesiune de autografe, poze si discutii(?!).

Duminica au prestat pentru toti cei care nu au apucat bilete pentru 9. Si spre deosebire de sambata, showul a fost total.

Sala de concerte de la Preoteasa s-a potrivit ca acustica si ca spatiu cu muzica germanilor contribuind la inducerea atmosferei intime si joviale specifica perioadei medievale. Singura disfunctie a fost scena, pe care unii dintre cei 12 s-au cam inghesuit, ascunzandu-se nevoit de priviri.

Se pare ca deasupra trubadurilor pestriti vegheaza o stea norocoasa din moment ce si de aceasta data sonorizarea a fost buna.

In debutul showului Asis si Claudio schimbau priviri scanteietoare si umblau nedumeriti la chitari. Si Asis spune la un moment dat: “ Do not buy Jackson guitars!! American guitars are worse than Japanese!”. Imediat s-a iscat un suvoi de rasete prin sala lucru care a contribuit la descatusarea energiilor si la detensionarea publicului. Asta pentru ca am vazut multi fani stand ca si cum se aflau sub represiune politica, seriosi si parca cu frica sa se dezlantuie.

Orchestra ( ii pot spune cu adevarat asa :D) transmitea sunetele usor ezitant la inceput dar in cele din urma si-a intrat cu vigoare in rol si ne-am delectat cu piese ca: Origin of a Crystal Soul, All’inizio e la Morte, The Observer, The final Victory, Per Aspera ad Astra, And the Dark Night Entered si Awaking the Centuries.

Origin of a Crystal Soul a lansat aceleasi ovatiuni ca si in seara precedenta plus o gramada de tropaituri. Se pare ca este “ slagarul” preferat al fanilor.

Rolul de vedeta incontestabila a serii s-a jucat intre Claudio si Michael. Si tind sa cred ca percutionistul “l-a luat” pe Claudio, oricate fentari de ghitara si solo-uri a facut tot timpul concertului. Michael s-a comportat ca un rockar veritabil..a dat el ce-a dat din pleata in spatele tobelor sale si in spatele fetelor de la viori si violoncel, dar nu s-a abtinut si a iesit de doua ori in fata lovind talgerele deasupra fanilor incantati. Apoi, pe la jumatatea concertului, s-a napustit de-a dreptul peste acestia, dand din cap si aproape sarind peste ei, fiind insa oprit de bodyguarzi.

Toata seara a fost plina de momente speciale de genul acesta. Inca una fiind si la mult asteptata piesa The final Victory, in care charismaticul tenor Fiffi a dat tonul: “The final Victory/ Has crushed the autumn silence”. Vocea sa curata rasuna cristalin in intreaga sala iar Asis indemna o data barbatii si o data femeile, sa continue cantecul...Frumoasa Sussane s-a poticnit de cateva ori cu vocea, facand pauze putin suparatoare pe piese. Dar s-a descurcat de minune atat in postura de prim solista cat si acompaniata de Fiffi. Uneori semana cu un inger care se chinuie sa iasa din ghearele demonului pentru a se inalta spre cer. Alteori ca o vrajitoare care isi deschide bratele intr-un ritual sabatic.

Pentru cei care au venit si sambata, in afara jocurilor scenice evenimentul a fost usor plictisitor. Playlistul, cu putine modificari, a fost identic. La final am aflat de la Asis ca se vor intoarce in Romania, cel mai probabil in luna octombrie, cu lansarea noului album.

Se pare ca Haggard au inteles ca fanii sunt cel mai important factor al succesului si au profitat de acest lucru cu mijloace demne de invidiat. Tot respectul pentru deschiderea lor fata de public si pentru decizia de a cobora catre el, intelegand ca scena este doar un element de improvizatie.

Dar sa imi incep cronica...Totul a inceput in fata Pavilionului 18 de la Romexpo unde am stat in frig afara asteptand intrarea. Nu stiu de cand nu m-am mai simtit asa inghesuita...hmmm..poate din zilele in care calatoresc la orele de varf. Vorba unui participant la concert...."E ca la metrou, numai ca lumea e mai selecta!" :)

Intr-un final am reusit sa intru. La intrare am fost perchezitionata si cautata in rucsac. Dar nu mi-au gasit arme albe sau droguri sau alcool asa ca m-au lasat sa intru.

O prima surpriza pentru mine a fost Frozen Dusk. Vocea Adinei, solista trupei, m-a facut sa ma intreb daca nu cumva o am in fata pe Tarja. Felicitarile mele pentru o prestatie atat de buna, si sper sa va revad cat de curand

Eine Frage, die mich sehr interessiert (und schon immer interessiert hat) ist diese: Ich weiß, dass ich weder an irgendeinen Gott, noch an irgendeine Religion glaube, und ich kann meine Gründe dafür auf eine Art und Weise darlegen, dass sie die andere Seite zumindest verstehen kann. Ist es jedoch möglich, dasselbe von jenen zu sagen, die behaupten, dass sie glauben? Kurz gefasst: Meinen unsere Widersacher in diesem uralten Streit wirklich das, was sie scheinbar sagen wollen?

Die jüngste Enthüllung, dass Mutter Teresa beinahe ein halbes Jahrhundert lang bei der Eucharistie die Gegenwart Christus nicht spüren konnte, noch wie das Ohr Gottes ihren Gebeten lauscht, ist hier von großer Wichtigkeit (Lesen Sie das aktuelle Buch mit ihren verzweifelten Briefen, Mutter Teresa: Komm, sei du mein Licht!). Nicht einmal ihre eifrigsten Anhänger betrachteten diese Frau in irgendeiner Weise als Intellektuelle und sie bemühte sich offensichtlich darum, ihre Zweifel auch höchst traditionelle Weise zu bekämpfen – nämlich, indem sie sich immer mehr außergewöhnliche und sogar masochistische „Glaubens“-Bekundungen aufbürdete. Dies wäre eine hervorragende Bestätigung von Daniel Dennett's Hypothese über den „Glauben an den Glauben“ – die seltsame Idee, dass, obwohl der Glaube selbst zusammenhangslos und haarsträubend sein mag, die bloße Bekundung davon bereits einen Wert für sich selbst darstellen könnte.

Obwohl ich sie manchmal eine Hochstaplerin genannt hatte (für ihre geheime Absprache mit reichen Unterdrückern der Armen wie der Duvalier Familie in Haiti und wegen ihren anderen kriminellen Machenschaften), würde ich nun zögern, Mutter Teresa in die selbe Kategorie zu stecken wie einen Falwell, einen Haggard, einen Sharpton oder einen Robertson. Diese Männer haben noch nie in ihrem Leben auch nur einen Tag gearbeitet und sie sind oder waren primitive Parasiten, die sich jeden Morgen wegen ihres Glückes kniffen, das einfache Leben führen zu können, das ihnen die Ausbeutung der Leichtgläubigen ermöglicht. Für sie ist Religion nichts anderes als ein Gewerbe oder eine Gaunerei.

Dasselbe kann man, denke ich, von den unzähligen Klerikern sagen, die man der Kindesvergewaltigung bezichtigt (warum zum Teufel erlauben wir uns den albernen Euphemismus „Missbrauch“?). Ihr widerliches Verbrechen ist nicht die Heuchelei. Kein Priester, der auch nur für zehn Sekunden ernsthaft an göttliche Gerechtigkeit glaubt, würde seine unsterbliche Seele auf diese Weise aufs Spiel setzen, und diejenigen in der Hierarchie, die dabei halfen, solche Männer vor Strafe in dieser Welt zu beschützen, sind gleichermaßen und offensichtlich eines abgebrühten und obszönen Zynismus schuldig.

 Das Gangstertum und die ausbeutende Seite der Religion, wie auch ihre nicht weniger klare Neigung, Kriege, Kräueltaten und Verdrängungen auszulösen, beschreiben jedoch nicht das gesamte Phänomen. Was ist mit denen, die ihr Bestes tun, anderen zu helfen und ein anständiges Leben zu führen und dabei diese Haltung mit dem Glauben an eine Jungfrau verbinden, oder an einen Propheten, mit der Geschichte des Auszugs aus Ägypten oder mit irgeneiner anderen Erfindung? Ich frage mich jedes Mal bei Gesprächen mit solchen Leuten, ob sie wirklich sagen, was sie meinen oder meinen, was sie sagen.

Es ist jedem Humanisten zum Beispiel vollkommen klar, dass Kalkutta von zureisenden freiwilligen Krankenschwestern, Ärzten, Arzthelfern, Abwasserexperten und anderen profitieren würde, genau wie es von der Aufmerksamkeit von Leuten nicht profitieren würde, die Armut und Tod für ein Nebenprodukt des „Mysteriums“ der Kreuzigung halten. Es gibt eigentlich eine ganze Menge Aktivisten des ersten Typs (Ich habe dort einmal einige Zeit damit verbracht, dem Fotographen Sebastiao Salgado bei seiner Arbeit für UNICEF zuzusehen; eine Dokumentation der Großkampagne für die Schutzimpfung gegen Kinderlähmung), aber aus irgendeinem verrückten Grund ist der einzige Name, den die Leute nennen können, der einer Frau, die ihr ganzes Leben einer Kampagne gegen Geburtenkontrolle widmete – einer dämlichen Kampagne, die die Bengalen ganz bestimmt niemals brauchten, noch heute brauchen.

Ist es möglich, dass die Missionare des „Glaubens“ die Objekte ihrer Mildtätigkeit als bloße Rohstoffe ansehen – menschliche Subjekte für ein krankes Experiment ihrer eigenen Psyche? Es scheint so, als ob Mutter Teresa ihre Zweifel immer eifriger ruhig stellte, je stärker sie das Vertrauen an die Lehre ihrer Religion verlor; und das tat sie mit Hilfe von protzigen Kreuzzügen gegen Scheidung, Abtreibung und Verhütung, indem sie die Ärmsten der Armen als ihre Kulisse und ihre Entschuldigung benutzte. Und wertet das nicht den Beitrag ab, den sie tatsächlich leistete? Für sie war der hilflose Bettler nur das – hilflos, und genau aus diesem Grund leicht zu haben für ihre eigene strapaziöse Propaganda. Die Bemühung um verhungernde Bengalen ist als solche schon hinreichend, jedoch kam der überwiegende Teil des Geldes für die „Missionarinnen der Nächstenliebe“ – wie Mutter Teresa selbst zufrieden einräumte – dem Bau von Klostern zugute, von dem ihr eigener Ehrgeiz und ihre eigene sehr extreme Lehre des katholischen Dogmas profitierten. Diese Predigten wandten sich entschieden gegen das einzige sichere Mittel gegen Armut, das die Menschheit kennt – die Emanzipation der Frauen aus dem Status und dem Zustand von Geburtsmaschinen.

Mit anderen Worten: Der „Glaube“ ist nicht am giftigsten und gefährlichsten, wenn er unehrlich und heuchlerisch und korrupt ist, sondern wenn er ehrlich ist. In diesem Zustand kann seine Sicherheit und Selbstgerechtigkeit nicht nur benutzt werden, um die Kirche zu stärken, sondern (wie es Mutter Teresa nach wie vor beweist) sogar um die Säkularen zu beeindrucken. Es sieht ganz so aus, als wäre das die Art und Weise gewesen, mit der sie und ihre Anhänger den Kreis quadratierten. Unterdrücke deine Bedenken, überwinde deine Verzweiflung, verdopple deine Bemühungen und wir werden einen Heiligen aus dir machen und später behaupten, dass du sogar noch nach deinem Tod die Kranken geheilt hast. An dieser Stelle glätten sich die zynischen Wogen, um die Leichtgläubigen zu treffen und zu sagen, dass am Ende alles erlaubt ist, solange es die Illusion am Leben erhält. Abermals steht man fassungslos vor einer Geistlichkeit, die es fertigbringt, eine jämmerliche alte Dame als Rekrutierungsoffizier zu missbrauchen, eine Dame deren Glaube, wie sie genau wussten, nur noch aus einer Hülle bestand.

Concertul va incepe la ora 20.00 in Sala de Festivitati.

Biletul costa 75 de lei. Organizatorii anunta ca evenimentul va avea loc intr-un cadru "mai restrans" si ca publicul care va veni la concertul special primeste un bonus: sesiunea de autografe.

Atentie cat de repede va miscati de data asta, pentru ca si biletele de la concertul special sunt in numar limitat!

Aqui vengo con mi segundo review de musica vamos a ver que tal sale..

Hace unos dias atras el pana Luis "Emo" de la universidad donde estudio me comento que la bajista de la Banda Mistica le presto un "sidi" de Haggard que le habia abierto la mente y tal y bueno ante eso le propuse que me lo prestara a cambio del Photoshop...

Bueno hace poco me dio el sidi de emeptres y algunos videos....de verdad que me sorprendio este disco, lo suficiente como para en vez de querer hacer un review del mismo hacer un review de la banda. Empezemos por algo de la biografia de la Banda.

Haggard inicio en 1991 como banda de death metal con el cual a lo largo de 5 años lanzaron 3 demos...con el pasar del tiempo - en resumidas cuentas - definieron un estilo totalmente propio con lo que ahora son una banda de metal gótico sinfonico de nada mas y nada menos que 21 integrantes.

Tienen en su repertorio tres discos:

And Thou Shalt Trust... The Seer (1997) se basa en la vida de Michel de Notredame en los dias de la peste negra

En el año 2000, con 21 integrantes y un estilo claramente definido, es lanzado Awaking the Centuries, que conserva la temática del disco anterior, y cuya gira concluyó con la producción de Awaking The Gods, concierto grabado en México.

Para el año 2004 la banda saca a la venta el álbum Eppur Si Muove, inspirado en la vida de Galileo Galilei y su situación tras apoyar el modelo heliocéntrico. Este es el disco que me prestaron... de verdad inspirador, la primera vez que lo escuche con su primera cancion All'inizio È La Morte quede pegado al sidi con sus sonidos medievales que tanto me gustan, de verdad te transportan y en mi caso te hacen imaginar castillos y dragones, eso claro esta hasta que descubri que el disco era sobre Galileo -.- , esto sucede porque la lirica del disco son en ingles -no hay problema-, aleman, italiano y latin....medio palo por la pechuga.

Este ultimo es el unico que he escuchado pero sin duda estoy buscando los otros discos, y en lo que los escuche tendran informacion de ellos.

Una curiosidad, al escuchar el disco me di cuenta de que los alemanes tienen una manera peculiar de cantar si lo escuchan digan si es cierto o no el parecido en la voz entre Asis Nasseri (papa de los helados de Haggard) y Till Lindemann (Rammstein) y otro que no recuerdo -creo-.

Hay un cuarto disco que se esperaba para este año pero se atraso se presume que para mediados del 2008 y tendra por nombre: Tales Of Ithiria

AMORPHIS a mai venit in Romania, la prima editia a festivalului Artmania, atunci cand a cantat pe scena cu HIM, CARMEN GREY si SILENTIUM.

HAGGARD ar fi trebuit sa vina la a doua editie a festivalului Artmania, dar au anulat concertul, deoarece unul dintre membrii trupei s-a accidentat. Noroc insa ca celelalte trupe au venit, si au cantat foarte bine, de la capul de afis, WITHIN TEMPTATION, pana la TAROT si AFTER FOREVER.
