Last night, Whitney Thompson was named the winner of cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model. She was the first "plus-sized" model (meaning she weighs more than 100 pounds) to win the crown since the show began in 2003. It was seen as a monumental step for the modeling industry, according to the show's creator, Tyra Banks.

This got me thinking that it was about time "plus-sized" athletes got the recognition they deserve. The following athletes have managed to succeed in their sports despite weighing nearly as much as an 18-wheeler. In no particular order, here are three of the best "plus-sized" athletes of all time.

Cecil Fielder: Cecil, also known as "Big Daddy" is one of the largest men ever to grace the baseball field. His listed weight on baseballreference.com is 240, but the 6-foot-3 first baseman was pushing 300 by the time he retired in 1998. Fielder excelled despite a penchant for hot dogs, making the All-Star team 3 times and leading the Major Leagues with 51 homeruns and 132 RBI for the Blue Jays in 1991. Fielder is unique in the fact that his girth wasn't a result of getting out of shape in his later years. He was fat when he came into the league and fat when he left it. Oh, I'm sorry, "plus-sized."

P.S.- Cecil's son, Prince, is not afraid of the cheeseburgers either.

Kevin Duckworth: This guy, again under-listed at 275 pounds , made an immediate impact in the league as a true center for the Portland Trailblazers in 1987-88. The 7-footer averaged over 15 points per game for four straight years until the Cinnabons got to him. As his scoring average went down over the next six years, his weight went up, leading to this flattering picture in his final year in the league with the lowly Los Angeles Clippers.

William "The Refrigerator" Perry: One of the most popular "plus-sizers" of all-time, the Fridge embraced his hefty nature from Day One, using his considerable size to become an effective player on both sides of the ball. He was also on the 1985 Superbowl Champion Chicago Bears team who entered into legendary status with the greatest sports-related rap in music history. (Yes, I've been waiting for an excuse to put this video up, the Fridge blesses the mic around 4:42)

Congratulations to Whitney and the three athletes above for opening doors for "plus-sized" people in both the sports and modeling world. Hopefully these two worlds never collide, although it would be interesting to see a spread of Big Daddy, The Duck, and The Fridge in this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. I'll start a petition.

Imagine Fresno magazine features on its May cover and in the lead story, Fresno newcomer and gay business owner, Michael Craghead.  Craghead moved to Fresno in January, opening Michael Craghead Stable at Rainwater Farms on Fresno's north side.  The business offers riding lessons and horse training, specializing in American Saddlebred horses and related breeds for amateur riders.  Craghead is a nationally noted horse trainer with several national and world titles to his credit and is also a United States Equestrian Federation judge.

This descendant states that in his personal opinion, if anyone were to be haunting Hurst Mansion it would more than likely be Colonel Fielding's wife, Melocky Hurst. He says that it was told through the generations of his family that Mrs. Hurst was very saddened by having to leave her dream home and this is why he believes her spirit may still be there.

I was also told that many of the Hursts buried in this area are children that Colonel Hurst conceived with his slaves. He stated that the descendants of these children attend the family reunions to this day. I had read that he had children with several of his slaves. I can't remember if I read it on Kevin D. McCann's blog or on HurstNation.com, but it was one of those sites.

The 3d modeling software called anim8or ( http://www.anim8or.com ) has finally gotten its first magazine. The 3d modeling software has been used by many to create games, animated shorts, and more. The person who has created dotan8 was inspired to make it by Rouder.

No links has been provided for the abandoned projected called Rounder. The website link to the upcoming magazine is http://www.dotan8.com/ and it has already have 2 full magazines filled with many pages(unlike many new and/or abandoned gm projects).

Kevin Fredward used to wrote suspense novel by the pen name elyod nanoc . But, one day, a kid follows his story and kills his friend. It wasn't his fault, but it distressed him. He moves to a village, in a big house. He calls a housekeeper to help him cleaning the house. The maid he knows from the pamphlet in train station. It was a nice handwritten and felt very warm.

But, the housekeeper surprises him. She's a duck, named Rosemary. Thought an animal, she could speak and work efficiently. Rosemary soon teaches him to open to his surrounding.

This is the greatest extinction event in the history of amphibians and the greatest taxon-specific conservation challenge in the history of humanity.

"And in terms of hotspots of amphibian diversity, the new study published in PLoS Biology today by Andreone et al. rightly focus on the significance and uniqueness of the Malagasy amphibian fauna. Habitat destruction and global warming are already straining Malagasy amphibians. And with a susceptibility of at least some Malagasy amphibians to the chytrid fungus, Bd, in captivity (pers. obs.), this precious jewel of biodiversity is an open Petri dish waiting for the first spore to land. Thus the call of Andreone et al. for conservation action that is “pro-active, rather than reactive, or simply post-mortem” could not be more timely or wise. We have watched Bd impacting amphibians on every continent where they are found, and in almost every case, even when we knew where it was going and when, our response has been a salvage operation after the outbreak because we lacked the timely resources to do otherwise. This is unconscionable and unethical. As responsible stewards we must act now to safeguard biophilic havens like Madagascar, protecting key habitat areas and safeguarding in captivity those species that would otherwise succumb to threats that cannot be controlled in the wild. ACSAM is the recipe for how to proceed.

"Although as individuals we lack the money to effect the requisite changes called for by Andreone et al., we have something more powerful than money—a vote. We must demand action from the governments of the world, to support addressing this conservation crisis and all environmental ills. And if they refuse, then we must use our vote to replace them with someone who will respond appropriately. There is no political issue more paramount that protecting the future of all life on earth. The current amphibian extinction crisis in the perfect test: if we cannot perform an act so simple as saving the frogs, then what hope do we have for ourselves? Like the frogs of Madagascar, we have only one home, we are endemic to planet earth. It is time for us to start using our superior intellect for the long-term benefit of the world, of ourselves. "The Uncertainty Principle" jest trzecim epizodem, który napisałeś w tym sezonie. Z postępem sezonu jest łatwiej, czy może coraz bardziej skomplikowanie?
Teraz jest łatwiej, gdyż widziałem już kilka odcinków i słyszałem głosy postaci, ale nowi bohaterowie i nowa fabuła zawsze są wyzwaniem. Na szczęście "The Spectacular Spider-Man" jest spektakularnie fajnym serialem do pisania.

Jak dotychczas napisałeś epizody z trzema przeciwnikami Spider-Mana - Electro, Sandmanem i teraz Green Goblinem. Jakie miałeś podejście do każdego z nich?
Zanim zabrałem się do pisania, przeczytałem jeszcze raz wszystkie komiksy z Electro, Sandmanem i Green Goblinem jakie zdołałem dostać w swoje ręce. Uwielbiam wszystkich łotrów, których miałem szczęście zawrzeć w scenariuszu. Każdy z nich wnosi coś świeżego do serialu - ich motywacje są różne i dlatego kontakty każdego z nich ze Spider-Manem są na swój sposób wyjątkowe.
Lubię ludzką twarz Electro - jest facetem, który nie chciał być czarnym charakterem, ale zostaje do tego zmuszony. Uwielbiam przeciętność motywacji Sandmana - jest po prostu oszustem, który nagle otrzymuje super moce. No i jest jeszcze Goblin - możecie uważać, że jest oszalały, ale on jest naprawdę błyskotliwy i jego myśli wybiegają daleko naprzód. Zawsze jest kilka kroków dalej, niż ci się wydaje. Więc póki zajmuję się Goblinem, zawsze staram się mieć na uwadze jego przyszłe ruchy.
Nie mam zezwolenia, aby powiedzieć co piszę w drugim sezonie, ale mogę powiedzieć, że czasami robi się trudniej, gdy piszesz jakąś postać drugi raz, bo musisz przewyższyć jej poprzedni występ. Dobrym przykładem z tego sezonu jest walka Spider-Mana z Green Goblinem z nadchodzącego epizodu. Musiałem zwrócić szczególną uwagę na ich pojedynki z "Catalysts" i skoncentrować się na tym, jak to zrobić inaczej i zarazem podnieść poziom.
