I never really liked Cassie. Actually, I was more...indifferent about her. Never liked any of her other songs but this one I have to admit is very good. The production is probably what lures me in the most with the beat done by Danja who seems to have his Timberland impression down to a science. On the beat and even down to his talking/singing parts. The song is written pretty well and is decently performed by Cassie. They could've given this song to anyone and I would've liked it the same. Anyways, fuck Lil Wayne, shout outs to Roger Troutman and Peter Frampton.

Como cada año, la MTV celebra por estas fechas dentro de sus numerosos fiestorros el que es probablemente el más rancio de todos. Los Video Music Awards, donde, como su propio nombre indica, se dan los premios a los mejores videos. Siempre segun el criterio los mandamases de la MTV, claro. O sea, que se los dan a quien les dan audiencia, no al que haya hecho el mejor video.

Poco a poco se van conociendo los nombres de quienes estarán presentes en la gala y actuarán en ella o serán los encargados de dar los premios. Ya se sabe que sera la Spears quien abra el show (Señor, libranos del mal. Amén) y que será el rapero sin personalidad Kayne West quien ponga fin al festejo. Digo sin personalidad porque el año pasado juró y perjuró que jamás volvería a ir a unos premios de la MTV. ¿Cuanto le habrán pagado para que cambie de opinión? No hay dos formas de verlo, el rap ya no es lo que era y su mundillo está contaminado por peseteros de nulo talento como éste y otros tantos que acudirán también al la gala como T.I. o Lil Wayne.

También podremos ver a la nueva lolita sensación del pop chicle Katy Perry, que dijo hace no mucho que le gustaría morrearse con Miley Cirus (la Hannah Montana), que también estará allí. Así me gusta, dejando claritas sus intenciones desde un principio. Rihanna estará allí actuando también, aunque no sabemos si llevará su dichoso paraguas. Lo que si es seguro es que la eterna imitadora de Beyoncé irá ligerita de ropa, para no perder las buenas costumbres e interpretará una canción que aparecerá en el próximo álbum del mencionado T.I. llamada "Paper Trail.

Aguilera también estará allí, y ya se sabe que interpretará su mayor hit, el que la dió a conocer mundialmente y dejó a Britney en evidencia: Gennie In A Bottle. Podremos ver también al nuevo produto de la factoría Disney, los Jonas Brothers.

Entre los presentadores podremos encontrar a Jamie Foxx, Chace Crawford(¿?), Ashlee Simpson, John Legend, Kobe Bryant, Leona Lewis, Paris Hilton (¡que superhipermega guay!), Slash, Taylor Swift, Shia LaBeouf, Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Spencer PrattMichael Phelps (si, el nadador), Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Ciara, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu (¿?), Kristen Stewart (¿?), Robert Pattinson (¿?), Taylor Lautner (¿?) y Christopher "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse (¿?).

So my buddy Mikey McFly just informed me that Wayne has finally signed Drake to Young Money! As much as Lil Wayne makes me want to surgically remove my eardrums, I'm excited to see what Drake is going to do because no matter how I feel about Wayne he is making moves and more money than me. I have faith that Drake will go far, he has talent and he doesn't have to prove himself to anyone because he already has his own following and it will only get bigger and better for him. YAY DRAKE!

And yet again, Mr. McFly is like my number one bestest person right now!

MTV hosted a press conference for the MTV VMA awards at the Paramount lot in Hollwood today.  They wanted to give the press a little taste of what Russell Brand and MTV will bring to the masses.  To start with, a limo pulls up and out comes Christina Aguilera in some extra tell sexy heels promising to perform her new song, "Keeps Getting Better," which is also the name of a best-of album she's releasing in November.

"You're going to get a first look and a first listen at my new image and my new sound," she said. "The last album, the style and sound was about vintage glam — this one is all about the future."

Next surprise guest who appeared from a fire escape in the New York backlot, rapper T.I.!  He also confessed he'd be performing a new song from his forthcoming lp, "Paper Trail."

He says, "The people can expect action-packed pandemonium from top to bottom," he said, before turning to Brand and adding, "Those are some impressive pants you've got there. Are they denim? I thought they were spray-on aerosol."

Russie also broke the news that Kanye West would be getting over his strike against the VMA's and will close the show!  Oh one more thing, did I mention that Kid Rock was there and he confirmed he'd be performing........with Lil Wayne?!

I knew as soon as they hired Russell Brand to host this years awards show that MTV wanted to go with something BIG something fabulous!

Depuis ses débuts, The Game est comme le centre d’une cible où les flèches seraient la jalousie, les embrouilles et les polémiques. D’abord fâché avec 50 Cent et le G-Unit, ensuite séparé de son maestro Dr Dre, il lui a fallu évoluer en solo pour démontrer l’étendue de ses capacités. Et jusqu’ici, tout a très bien marché. Alors quant on réussi tout ce qu’on entreprend, le plus dur est de perdurer ainsi. Pour que la sauce prenne de nouveau, l’artiste se devait de lancer son disque de la meilleure des façons possible, comme il avait pu le faire pour ses deux premiers essais. Ici, le californien a choisit « Game’s Pain » avec Keyshia Cole comme rampe de lancement. Un titre bien calibré par DJ Toomp, un single en somme.
Doctor’s Advocate était composé de titres bruts, d’autres plus mainstream et des morceaux à tendance souful, ce qui rendait l’écoute limpide. LAX débute comme il fini, à savoir sur des paroles spirituelles de DMX ( ce qui n’est pas donné à tout le monde ). Puis ensuite, « LAX files » entame les hostilités et prouve que The Game est bel et bien de retour. Tout n’est que subtilité et finesse, adresse et maîtrise. La suite se veut plus puissante, les featuring plus nombreux. Ice Cube se charge du refrain sur « State of Emergency » qui se révèlera peut être comme étant le début d’une future (Westside) connexion. De son côté, Raekwon transparaît sur « Bulletproof Diaries », morceau très Wu-Tang Clan dans l’âme ; peu étonnant me direz vous. Dans la série des titres à classer dans une atmosphère sombre nous pouvons inclure « House Of Pain » et « Let Us Live » ( feat. Chrisette Michele ). A noter que ce dernier est produit par Scott Storch, déterré pour l’occasion. Néanmoins le résultat est convaincant. La jeune Chrisette Michele apporte La touche de volupté qu’il fallait à cet instrumental oppressant.

Il est vrai que depuis Doggystyle ou Straight Outta Compton, le son local à changé. Désormais les albums contiennent leurs morceaux r’n’b devenus presque obligatoires aux mœurs actuelles. Dans cette catégorie, The Game est un as. Sur LAX il nous pond le mielleux « Gentleman's Affair » aidé par un Ne-Yo plus insupportable que jamais avec ses délires de gentleman. Davantage orienté Nu-Soul cette fois ci, « Touchdown » montre une facette moins commerciale que « Gentleman’s Affair », chose qui ne surprend pas lorsque l’on découvre que c’est Raheem DeVaughn qui accompagne le MC. La production est signée 1500 or Nothing, soldat quasiment inconnu au bataillon. Ce dernier est également aux manettes de la bombe « Dope Boys » qui joui de la présence de Travis Barker ( batteur de Blink 182) à la batterie. Des morceaux surpuissants de cet acabit, The Game sait en faire et il le prouve ici. Ses deux premiers disques nous avaient donné l’image d’un artiste extrêmement habile en terme de choix d’instrumentaux. C’est un fait que l’on ne peut guère lui reprocher, le MC sait faire le tri pour en retirer le meilleur, tel un Dr Dre par exemple. Sur LAX on passe d’excellents moments, bercé entre des ballades ensoleillées ( « Cali Sunshine », « Game’s Pain » ) et des réflexions parfois sérieuses ( « LAX files », « Bulletproof Diaries » ). Cependant, ce troisième et hypothétique dernier album contient dix-neuf morceaux dont un interlude, une intro et une outro ce qui fait lourd dans la balance, trop lourd même. En effet, on est en droit d’éprouver des regrets en voyant certaines pistes vraiment dispensables comme le raté « Ya Heard » feat. Ludacris.

La fin de l’écoute approche lorsque retenti la somptueuse mélodie de « Letter To The King » produite par Hi-Tek. Le californien a décidé de conclure cet opus comme son précédent, en invitant le roi de New-York Nas pour un voyage de presque six minutes. Mais il me serais impossible de terminer la chronique de LAX sans dire un mot sur « Angel ». Que dire…Common débute, The Game suit, Kanye West produit. On passe de Chicago à Compton, le trajet se passe à merveille, nous sommes dans les airs et on aimerait que ça dure très longtemps. Comme je l’ai dis précédemment, DMX obtient la clôture de ce troisième essai.
The Documentary, Doctor’s Advocate et maintenant LAX. Je l’ai dis, ce projet aurait gagné a être allégé de certains morceaux ce qui aurait pu le mettre au niveau que ses prédécesseurs. Le maître en a décidé autrement et ma foi il s’en sort haut la main. Désormais je vous invite à vous prêtez au petit jeu du « lequel est le meilleur » en écoutant cet opus. Mais croyez moi, si vous avez su apprécier les deux premiers volets, ce petit jeu se transformera en véritable partie de plaisir avec LAX.

Review: He Raps & He Sings! The T-Wayne mixtape collaboration features an interesting format with tracks 1-11 featuring Lil Wayne, tracks 12-21 featuring T-Pain and then the last three tracks purporting to feature T-Wayne, the Florida rappers' combined alter ego. Some of the tracks are new and some have been around for a bit. Got Money, T-Wayne's older hit single is on here as is the new single Cant Believe It, which the duo has also released a really nice new music video for. The T-Pain "official remix" of Lollipop, which is a decent version of the smash single, is also on the tape. Wayne's new Make A Toast joint featuring Dolla is worth listening to if you haven't heard it already. Check out Im On Dat for one of Wayne's better tracks. Wayne's half of the tape features contributions from artists such as Camron, Nutt Da Kidd, Jae Millz, B.G. and Juvenile. The Wayne, Juve and B.G. collabo on the Mannie Fresh-produced joint Aint A Hot Boy is a track to check for as well. On the T-Pain side of things, the tape also makes out very well. Pain's new banger Go Hard with DJ Khaled and Kanye West is straight fire. Absolutely listen to Beam Me Up, an insane alien beat with Tay Dizm and Rick Ross. The T-Pain joint Make Movies procaliming "Duval County Stand Up" features Yung Cash and is another stellar track from T-Pain. T-Pain's Silver And Gold and You And Me are both recent pieces of fire that can be found on "The T-Wayne Show". Overall, the album reflects the direction that each artist is heading in their respective careers. Wayne, coming off the chart-busting "Tha Carter III" performance is content to drop some mixtape and unreleased material and ride the two collabo singles Got Money & Cant Believe It. T-Pain on the other hand is fresh off the hype from his "Pree Ringz" Mixtape and anxiously anticipating the upcoming release of his album "Three Ringz". For two guys who are both on the top of the hip-hop game, you cant really ask for much more in a mixtape. We're calling this one a must pick-up. Go get it.he

Once again, Trey is back on his mixtape shit. Just as many artists do, Trey is hopping on tracks left and right before the arrival of new his album 'Ready'. On this song, Trey sings over T-Wayne's 'Can't Believe It'. As I always say, Trey is an undeniable talent but this isn't amazing to me. Trey can outsing T-Pain anyday and I support him regardless but this wasn't anything special to me. What do you think?
