Mogę również dodać, że wraz ze startem Łódzkiego Tramwaju Regionalnego znikneły wszystkie linie zatramwajowe. Została tylko linia Z8 (pl. Niepodległości-Rzgowska). Otworzono również dwie nowe linie 16 (Kurczaki-pl.Kilińskiego/Zgierz) z wariantem 16A (Kurczaki-Helenówek) oraz P (Chocianowice-Wiejska/Pabianice).

Teraz parę słów o wagonach jeżdżących na ŁTR. Narazie na ten szlak wpuszczane są wszystkie wagony tramwajowe, a na linię 11 obsługują tylko tramwaje typu 122N i Cityrunner. Po wdrożeniu w życie inteligentnych systemów usprawniających przejazd, klamotki znikną z trasy ŁTR-u. Zostaną tam tylko te tramwaje, które są naprawach głównych i są wyposażone w system GPS oraz składy na stałe przypisane do linii 11.

Panie! Ale ładny tramwaj! To PESA!

Tak, tak, Pesa, mamy ich dokładnie 10 sztuk. Wszystkie przeznaczono do obsługi linii 11. Niestety już w niektórych wagonach objawia się tzw. choroba wieku młodzieńczego, czyli mniejsze bądź większe awarie. Jednak na to można przymknąć oko, gdyż to zjawisko jest normalne. 

Odpowiedź na drugie pytanie jeszcze musi zaczekać, bo limanka chyba postanowiła pobić rekord Guinessa wstrzemięźliwości. Pierwsza myśl zaś już jest nieaktualna: gdy wsiadłem do 11 po raz drugi, trzeciego lipca, klimatyzacja już była wyłączona a malutkie okienka uchylone. I tak skończył się piękny sen, bo cały ten tramwaj bez klimy jest kompletnie niewart tych 9 milionów - szwabskie ruiny obsługujące linię 46 też są ciche, też na nowych szynach nie trzęsą, za to kosztują dokładnie sto razy mniej.

Zatem wszystko jest jak zwykle: zielona farba z trawy się zmyła i cały interes pozostawił tylko kupę kasy w kieszeni Bydgoszczan, którzy jako jedyni mają z tego korzyść.

Well low and behold I opened my local newspaper this morning while drinking my first cup of coffee and guess what I found? More proof that what I and many others have been saying for several years is happening in the real world.

In the Sunday June 8th edition of the Jamestown NY, Post Journal  newspaper on the front page of the business section there is a story about two brothers that have opened a brick and mortar store because they were pushed away from eBay by higher fees and the lack of customer service.

Roy Walker, owner of the brick and mortar store The Bargain Cave in Jamestown NY is quoted in the article

“ We were selling antiques and collectibles on eBay “

, and when Roy talks about why he decided to open his B/M store he says

“ Another swaying factor in the decision to open a traditional store was the rising cost of doing business on eBay and the customer service. I was giving them a lot of money with the increased fees and they (eBay) weren’t very helpful when I needed it. I was just getting attitude from them (eBay) and started to question whether is was worth it anymore”

I have read 10’s of these articles from newspapers all around the country. This is not an isolated case as we all know. eBay is moving towards a retail buying experience, advantaging the big sellers and disadvantaging the small sellers.

When lower GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) sellers are disadvantaged on the site by being placed low in the Best Match searches, they have a much lower chance of selling their products. If they don’t sell their products they can not grow. This is simple economics.

La tendencia del calentamiento continuará porque el oxígeno en el aire se mezcla con menos facilidad en aguas cálidas. Las áreas orientales de los océanos Atlántico y Pacífico con bajas cantidades de oxígeno disuelto, se han expandido en los últimos 50 años. Aparentemente, hay un correlación de este hecho, con el progresivo aumento de las temperaturas, de acuerdo con estudios científicos que se han llevado a cabo en Alemania y en los Estados Unidos.

Los peces grandes como el atún o el pez espada evitan éstas regiones privadas de oxígeno, y son incapaces de sobrevivir en ellas.

Lothar Stramma, autor líder en IFM-GEOMAR en Kiel, Alemania, dijo que hay señales de que las áreas bajas en oxígeno, bajo los 300 y 700 metros de profundidad, están ampliándose y moviéndose hacia aguas costeras menos profundas.

"La expansión de zonas con oxígeno mínimo está llegando cada vez más a las áreas de plataforma continental", señaló Reuters. "No es sólo el océano abierto". Ello alterará aun más la industria pesquera.

Yesterday's Polsat TV News carried a news item about how passengers travelling on many trains on the Warsaw-Lodz line were seriously delayed after a PCC Rail diesel hauled freight train from Warsaw to Sosnowiec stopped mysteriously near Rogow. Single line working was in operation on this section because of the major rebuilding of the line currently in progress. Controllers at the Rogow signal box became seriously concerned as passenger trains began to stack up on both sides of the blockage and called out the police. The Police entered the cab and discovered both drivers fast asleep. Apparently they had a heavy drinking session the previous night. An interesting question arises, given that the train was actually stationary at the time the police boarded the locomotive, can they charge them with driving a train while incapacitated?

Perhaps some good may come from the incident? Passengers forced to sit for 5 hours or more on the back-breaking seats fitted in the new electric trains may be angry enough to complain. PKP Prewozy Regionalne bought 11 of the new trains for 171 m PLN from Pesa Bydgoszcz Holding SA with the assistance of funding from the EU.

Last wednesday, PESA WA student chapter held the BBQ session with all the members. I myself as a general committee member was very glad to attend this event in early semester. PESA is a Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia. It is like as SPE but this owned by Australia's members of Petroleum Exploration. I met the former student president of PESA WA, Michelle D' Allessio and she was very excited to meet us.

She said to me to encourage all my friends in this Petroleum field, geology, engineering to join PESA as they have a lot of good networking with the industry. Yesterday on 15th Mac 2008, WAPEC Annual General Meeting was held in UWA. I am so glad that more than 50% of the members attended the meeting. It is indeed that, the club mission for this meeting is to sit and get together with the members of two universities in WA. We sit together and discuss about the overall problem that rise from before, now and then.

Yes, by all means demonstrate but do not loot, do not break into stores, do not burn down buildings. Compare the damages in other towns with KISUMU DALA WA...What are we doing? We are destroying ourseleves.  

Tommorrow it is us who will be without jobs, then we will say "Kisumu onge pesa," no business in Kisumu.  But we will have brought ourselves down.  Who will we blame?

As it is, KIBAKI does not care.  In fact, we are satisfying his EGO. 

WAKE UP NYIKWA RAMOGI...this kind of distraction is going to bring us to our knees. Do not be blinded by anger... Do you see the central province towns burning down?

Ask your selves look into the future, think of where we will be as Luos what we will lose....and, again, I am saying YES GO TO THE STREETS BUT STOP THE SENSELESS DESTRUCTION. IT WILL NOT HARM PNU, IF THAT WAS THE TARGET... REFOCUS, REFOCUS. WE CAN SEND THE SAME MESSAGE WITHOUT REDUCING OURSELVES TO POVERTY LEVELS.....
