Then noted my concerns to Polytikus (read her post too) and decided to take a break so did she.
Later talked to MarinaM, she felt similar and later posted something on it. (which was just a figure of speech)

Then Rocky, caught the flu and took a break (blog fasting?) and then guess what?
WCW made this Strike? Front page? looney! Worst still Super Loonely did what she always does best and C4ed this matter out of enormous proportion and as usual (which is why many are tired) bloggers! bite the strike bug and next flame it into a STRIKE HATE WILDFIRE. And OMG to use PEOPLE's PARLIAMENT as a hate MARINAM platform? duh?

Guess what! you all bozes been had by the MSM and cybertroopers out there helping make matters worst. I also realize many people really DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ BLOGS or anything anyhow especially those that filled their heart with HATE.

I was just agreeing to RPK how nice it was if everyday was like Bloggers 100days Celebration where everyone were all cozy up over drinks and meal. Then came this un-called for mayhem....

Boy oh boy.....  didn't our FOES win BIG on this one.... sigh!

On Saturday the 5th of July, 5000 red-clad people gathered at City Square to demand real action on climate change. Although the city council made some restrictions on the rally including requiring the march to wait for traffic lights (they originally wanted us to stay on the sidewalk!), the demonstration was still very lively, with a diverse crowd of over 60 environmental and social justice groups turning up. Speakers included Greens Senator Bob Brown, who drew loud applauses from the "sea of red".

4 members of the GWSC Eco-Committee attended the rally: Saba Vayani-Lai, Alex Dixon, Jimmy Yan and Rebecca Dixon (who isn't acctually a member of the Eco-Committee but she counts.)

The rally was followed by a human sign at Alexandria Park, spelling the words "CLIMATE EMERGENCY" with helicopters (and a blimp) overhead taking aerial photographs.

Unlike the Walk Against Warming last year, the slogans raised this time were less accommodating to the government, signaling the urgency of global warming and it's impacts today and the need to make real immediate concrete demands - not in 2-4 years, as proposed under the Garnaut review. Demands included an end to uranium mining and exports, free public transport and renewable energy. It showed that our real power lies not in our ability to consume more frugally as individuals, but our ability to organise, to get out onto the streets and make some noise to demand real action.

Pak Lah's government should take up the challenge for open debates with Anwar and let the people judge. The BN government should not hide behind press statements and skewed media coverage. Instead, take the fight into the open and let's see who is man enough to lead this country. The rakyat is looking for leaders who would lead, fight the fight and prove to us that our vote was meaningful.

Lo que consideramos más prioritario para llegar hasta Banjul es la gasolina, pues sin ella no salimos ni de casa y necesitamos suficiente como para llegar a hacer 6000km. También necesitamos agua y comida para sobrevivir durante unos 15 días (no vamos a ser exigentes y no pediremos una paella en medio de Mauritania). Continuando con las necesidades propias de viaje, va a ser preciso que contratemos un vuelo de vuelta desde Banjul y el ferry para cruzar el estrecho de Gibraltar.

La inscripción del rally también es necesaria para poder participar, eso ya lo pagamos, sino no podiamos apuntarnos, pero lo hemos tenido que sacar de nuestros propios bolsillos (y nosotros somos estudiantes, que significa que no tenemos muchos euros).

Necesitamos a alguien que nos mire el coche y que nos repare cualquier pequeño defectillo que tenga el coche, vamos lo que comúnmente se llama mecánico.

Creemos que va a ser bueno que consigamos algún neumático o alguna rueda de Kadett directamente, seguro que pinchamos en algun sitio, a parte los que lleva el coche puestos ahora mismo están bastante viejos y degradados.

Y por el momento no se nos ocurre nada más que pueda ser esencial, pero ya iremos actualizando.

The first time we met with the group our camper was still being built (a 2007 Jayco 12HW).  They were camping at a state park not too far from our home so we decided to join them for the Saturday evening potluck.  We decided ahead of time to drive by the group slowly and if we heard dueling banjos or if anyone had a snake wrapped around their neck we would take our tray of brownies and keep driving.  Thankfully, they were all just people who liked to camp and we've since spent many enjoyable weekends sharing campfires with them.

Every year, members from five states descend upon a campground and this year it was our state's turn to host the Rally.  We decided to make it our vacation and reserved a site for ten days.  It's our longest camping trip so far and packing for it has made me reflect on those people who build big houses after their kids move out.

When the boys were little, camping consisted of a tent, sleeping bags, and a cooler full of hot dogs and marshmallows.  It all fit in the trunk of the car.  Three kids and a dog in the back seat, stop at White Castle on the way to the campground, and you're good for the weekend.  You would think now that the kids are grown, provisions would only take 1/2 of a car trunk.  Nope.  The leg lamp alone takes 6 square feet.  Yes, the leg lamp.  Camping isn't what it used to be folks!

 As I sit at my trailer table, next to the leg lamp, I am blogging at my computer with a wireless card and my cell phone and digital camera are sitting next to me.  (The flat screen tv hooked to adjustable rooftop antenna is only a few feet away.)  Above the 3 cubic foot refrigerator, the ice maker is churning out ice to keep our 3 coolers nice and frigid.  The aroma of coffee is scenting the air while the convection oven/microwave is cooking muffins.  Fortunately, it's cool enough to have the windows unzipped because the air conditioner will freeze you out and my hair is wet from just showering in my camper bathroom.  It has been cold at night surprisingly so I'm glad we have heated mattresses.

Yes ladies and gentlemen,  this is what camping has become.  I've gone from the whole family and all the gear fitting in one vehicle to pulling a trailer with a loaded SUV while my husband follows behind in the pickup.  When non-campers say they don't enjoy the outdoors I just have to chuckle.  I've got better accomodations than I've had at many hotels!

(It was my intent to include some pictures but I can't get them uploaded.  I'll include them in another post.)

July has arrived in Prague, and as well within just a few days, the U.S. Secretary Of State, Condoleeza Rice is expected to attend discussions with the intentions of signing the treaties involved in the installation of a U.S. Missile Defense Radar Base in the Czech Republic.

The length and exact term of "Condi's" visit has been reported to be on the morning of July the 8th and stay between the 10th.

If our government here in the Czech Republic thinks that it's citizens will remain passive, quiet and indifferent "neteční" during it's ignorant and defiant pursuit of a rapid signing of the Missile Defense & Radar Agreement, truly they have made an unprecedented mistake.

The people have remained against the agreement for two years without change, and the government has also not changed in it's stance of ignorance of the people, citizens and the majority "Czech Vote". We can voice our final words once more to Parliament via elected and responsible spokespeople for the "No To Bases" Iniciative, "Ne Zakladnam".

We will demonstrate in protest of "Condi" and the Radar, On Tuesday, 8th of July, in Wenceslas Square, from 18:00 (6pm).

The journalists took out the rally from the Press Club and marched through the Mahatma Gandhi Marg to the Manipal Hospital near Ranipool demanding strong action against the culprits.

The mediapersons wore black armbands and carried banners and hoardings condemning the attack and seeking an assurance from the state government that the right of expression of the media would be protected.

Seven journalists were attacked and injured on Friday when masked men wielding hammers and blunt objects barged into the office of the vernacular daily, 'Hamro Prajashakti'.

The condition of three journalists, Bijoy Gurung (UNI), Shekhar Khabash (Himalayan Darpan) and D B Rai (Himalayan Mirror) was stated to be critical, hospital sources said.

All the three have sustained serious injuries on their head and arms, the sources said.

The other four journalists, associated with 'Hamaro Prajashakti' were released from the hospital during the day.

The journalists also submitted a memorandum to the Director General of Police (DGP) R M Raveendran and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), range, Akshaya Sachdeva seeking immediate arrest of the culprits.

Police officials assured the journalists that the assailants would be arrested soon. (The Hindu)

No frickin' wonder. So what is this 'annoying and inconvenient'?

New regulations passed in NSW give police and emergency service workers the power to hand out fines of up to $5000 to anyone “causing an annoyance or inconvenience” to World Youth Day pilgrims. “We want to show our support to Sydney protestors whose civil liberties have been trampled by the NSW government,” stated Jason Ball, President of the University of Melbourne Secular Society and event spokesperson. “These draconian measures are a blatant attack on the right to freedom of speech.”

Lyn Allison, who recently ended her 6-year term in the Senate, commented on the state sponsorship of the religious event, “Australia does not have a history of debate and discussion about the appropriate interface between church and state. The current issues now provide an opportunity to start a real debate on the need for and ways of separating church and state. Other countries are doing this. Norway is consulting nation wide on formal separation. It is time that Australia followed suit.

Essentially, my friend who just went to Italy this week could probably do the 'annoying and inconvenient' thing in the country where the Pope resides and just get people rolling their eyes at her. Or filming her for YouTube.

One easy way to identify a bad law, other than simply reading it, is to think about what types of conduct might fall foul of it. And it's fun, too.

First, "inconvenience". My preliminary list of things that could cause inconvenience to participants at World Youth Day includes being ahead of them in a toilet queue, obscuring their view of the Pope, or maybe just situating your convenience store too far away. Ironically enough, excessive security checks can also be a major source of inconvenience, as the citizens of Sydney may recall from the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit last year.

Then there's "annoyance". On pain of a $5500 fine, all mobile phone ring tones should be set to silent until the Pope leaves. All banks should drop their infuriating ATM fees in World Youth Day areas. And if being annoying is now a crime, Frank Sartor and Michael Costa should steer well clear of Randwick.

The point here is that the new offence is built on concepts - inconvenience and annoyance - which are vague, subjective and not sufficiently serious to justify imposing a criminal sanction.

Melbourne activists join the force of opposition to World (Catholic) Youth Day

Secular and human rights student activists from around Melbourne have organised a rally to oppose the $150 million in taxpayers’ money going to Catholic World Youth Day. The rally also plans to publicly condemn the Pope’s attitudes towards women, homosexuals, non-believers and contraception; a freedom now wholly exclusive to citizens outside of NSW.

The rally starts at 1.30pm on Sunday, July 13 and will be held on the steps of Parliament House, Spring Street. Student groups have organised the speakers, who so far include Humanist of the Year and former Senator Lyn Allison, Rationalist Society of Australia President Ian Robinson, Secular Party of Australia President John Perkins, Humanist Society of Victoria President Stephen Stuart and human rights activist Trent Hawkins.

Police have advised PKR against holding the rally in Petaling Jaya on Sunday to protest the fuel hike.


Hope this is a foretaste of things to come: A humble and public minded police.
Always polite whether it is to UMNO, PKR, DAP, PAS.

This is inspite of the fact that PKR has not applied for permit.

He said that PKR had not applied for any permit to hold the gathering and that the police feel it will cause a disturbance to pedestrians and motorists alike.

If you recall, previously, the police always say something like this:

"No permit, no rally!"

Not only was he polite, he even offered an alternative:

He also advised the state PKR to instead hold the gathering at the Stadium Melawati in Shah Alam.

GERAMM is a coalition of NGOs and Pakatan Rakyat youth groups for anti-fuel price hike rally - also collecting one million signatures to petition the government to slash the oil price from its nationwide road shows which is still ongoing.

La 28va. edición del Rally Argentina será válida por los Campeonatos del Mundo de Producción (PWRC) y por el Campeonato del Mundo de Rally Junior (JWRC), tal como lo confirmó la Federación Internacional del Automóvil (FIA) tras la última reunión del Consejo Mundial de Automovilismo.
De esta manera el Rally Argentina 2009, contará con la presencia de los vehículos más grandes de la categoría, los World Rally Car, junto con sus dos divisiones menores, algo que ya ocurrió en nuestro país en la edición 2006 de este evento.
Además de dar a conocer los calendarios del PWRC y del JWRC, la máxima entidad mundial del deporte motor también le dio luz verde al Rally de Chipre y al Rally de Polonia para que ambos eventos sean confirmados dentro de la temporada 2009 del Campeonato del Mundo de Rally (WRC), siguiendo las recomendaciones de los observadores FIA.
Por otra parte, el Consejo Mundial de Automovilismo (WMSC) ha delegado en FIA la tarea de finalizar las negociaciones y llegar rápidamente a un acuerdo para contar con un promotor central del WRC, a la vez que aprobó la nueva denominación que tendrán los autos Grupo N y Súper 2000, los cuales a partir de 2010 integrarán la categoría “Superproducción”, en tanto que las máquinas del Grupo R, con tracción simple, serán renombradas como “Autos de Producción”.
Si bien todavía no hubo ninguna referencia oficial acerca que pasará con los actuales World Rally Car, cuyas especificaciones caducan a finales de 2009, la opción que más fuerte suena es que se le apliquen limitadores y formen parte de la división “Superproducción”.

A peaceful demonstration organized by the Union of Oromo Students in Europe, Belgium (UOSEB) branch was successfully made on 30^th June 2008 from place jean rey (in front of the European parliament) to berlaimont (in front of the European commission) in Brussels, Belgium.

The main objective of the demonstration was to protest the Ethiopian government backed Gumuz militia attacks on the civilian Oromos in west Oromia, in which some 400 men ,women, children’s and elderly have been murdered in a way too ghastly to explain.

The demonstrators accused the continuous and horrible  human rights abuse by the Ethiopian government on the Oromo ,people and other nationalities in Ethiopia and the horn of Africa in general.

The participants came together  from all over western Europe including Germany, Netherland, Switzerland, Belgium and more. Participants were briefed by Dr. Mezgebu, the ex-MPE Dr.Getacho Jigi, Oromo elder and woyane prison victim Obbo Tilahun, Adde Makiyya and Ex-president of the Ethiopian university students union Hunde Dhugassa. After the brief the demonstrators committed themselves to work together to topple the dictatorship of Meles government in any possible way they can. After promising to meet regularly until human rights is respected in that country the participants went home with peace and success.

I thought this link was pretty sick... for those of you that want to know what the Team Destination X Car can do... no wonder our driver Ashley Van Dyke was arrested leading the way on the BullRun. Celeste Andrews and I drove it yesterday and the other day back from the finish line of the BullRun, as well out in the desert and we were warned "this car can burn rubber on turns while doing 80 miles an hour when you shift gears". A very sick car and a pretty scary video. The ZR1 coming out is the talk of the motorsports world as it can blast away Lamborghini's and Ferraris on the road and Ferraris (go America!) and a few lucky girls from Destination X and l be going to driving school in two weeks to learn how to master this vehicle on the track

Last Thursday London underground cleaners struck for 48 hours demanding better pay. They go back on strike again from 7pm this evening. We urge you to join them on their picket lines and show them all the support you can.

Josh, the star of the upcoming reality series says he wants a Bugatti (even though he's 14!) and has a love for cars, so he has begun master-minding gettin his hands on one, maybe this is why they hunted down The Bullrun, having such an interest in cars... maybe he wanted to do a little shopping around? See which ones can hold the stamina.They were invited by their friend Dallas over at Destination X TV who rounded up a VO6 Black Vette for the brief ride...

They start at the Wynn Hotel on the Vegas strip heading towards one of the baddest race tracks around, Spring Mountain. Since JB is the only one that can drive, is it likely that Josh will take the keys and race on over there himself?? Possibly be one of the first 14 year olds to get a speeding ticket in a Rally?

The Bullrun motor-sports event covers 3000 miles this year, Josh and JB drove from the Wynn Hotel in the wee hours of the morning through to Spring Mountain (about an hours drive). But this is after brushing up on their racing skills earlier on in the week at Spring Mountain, luckily the boys made it their alive and without law injuries... and actually made good time!! The youngest team on the Rally earned respect.

Josh, the 14 year old star says he would join the BullRun but he does not have a license yet. I don't know what he is worried about, after all, many BullRun drivers end up with speeding tickets that cost them their license, so Josh is already off to a good start...

But now that their hooked, its gonna be hard for them not to want to rally in the Bullrun every year. Will Josh and JB be the first to bring a Bugatti? Hopefully they wont total it!!
