Just when you think you've made it, it all goes to hell. I did what I could and I got in to one class. I petitioned for every option and I still only got one. Anyone else would say that it's better than nothing. My parents on the other hand aren't so happy. I guess they expected me to be able to get in to all the classes I petitioned for. Shows you how long it has been since they went to college. Anyways, I got the hold off of my record and I was able to register for the class and the lab. I got my shiny new student ID card and I got my campus email set up. Like I said, I'M excited, but my parents kinda ruined for me. Anyways, I'll be heading up to the school on Tues/Thurs from 12:30p - 1:45p. It will leave a lot of open time for studying and hopefully I can use that time to get more hours at work, we'll see.

p.s. DID YOU GET GOOGLE CHROME YET?! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DO IT NOW!!!

Tucows and resellers voted worst online domain register by me ever!

DiscountDomainRegistry.com is one of the worst domain register resellers I've ever seen. They are a reseller for Tucows which isn't any better. Be warned if your reseller fails, website is down or goes out of business you will only be able to email compliance for help. This took me 2 hours to find the information and track it down just to change the name servers. After that it took almost 4 hours for them to respond to my email while we had all communications of a client down. No contact information for tucows is given and they will not help you no matter what with any direct or phone support. Tucows doesn't care about their customers and has no support options. Good luck if you are using a reseller of Tucows.

This is also the 2nd account qwest has broken by changing their Name Servers. Qwest was the original DNS hosting company and DiscountDomainRegistry.com was the register.

I hope and pray no one else has to deal with these people.

6 hours it took to unlock a domain and change the name servers is unreasonable and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Godaddy can do this in 4 minutes on the phone, website chat or email.

Ab und zu erfinden wir auch mal lustige Namen für schöne neue Produkte. Dann müssen wir unter anderem auch abchecken, ob der Name schon vergeben und geschützt ist. Da gibt es die schöne Datenbank des Markenregisters Deutschland.
Und damit kann man natürlich auch ein bischen Unsinn treiben. Aber SOWAS hatte ich dann doch nicht erwartet! Diese Marke existiert tatsächlich:

A few months ago, I mailed off a packet that was supposed to register me to vote. I called today to find out if it had gone through. Unfortunately it had not. I then called the local voting office and they told me to simply come down to the court house and fill out a form. I went down to the court house, they handed me a form which asked for a few simple things (name, address, phone, drivers license or ssn, and a few questions about being a US citizen.) It took me a whole 3 minutes to fill out the form. I handed it to the lady behind the desk, she quickly reviewed it and told me I would receive a voter's card in the mail within 2-3 weeks. I was surprised at how simple it was compared to using the mail-in option. I think a problem with a lot of first time voters is that they don't know how to register, or they think that it's a hassle to register. As I described, it is actually very easy. If anyone has any questions about registering to vote, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you ASAP.

A Novel in 31 Days: Preparing for National Novel Writing Month

Let’s talk about November, which you may know as National Novel Writing Month. That means you only have two more months to register at NaNoWriMo, and think about the novel you’ve always wanted to write.

But what is NaNoWriMo?

NaNoWriMo.com is an innovative, yet fun approach to novel writing. Anyone can register for free, and join the thousands of others in your area who want to finish a novel. All participants begin writing Nov. 1, 2008, and try to write at a 50,000-word novel by midnight, Nov. 30, 2008.

Because of the limited writing window, the only thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and simply write. Reread, rewrite and revise later, but get your draft out in November.

Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down.

As you spend November writing, take comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants are going through the same joys and sorrows, taking breaks and heading to work in the morning. Wrimos in your area even meet throughout the month to offer encouragement and commiseration.

In 2007, they had over 100,000 participants. More than 15,000 of them crossed the 50k finish line by the midnight deadline, entering into the annals of NaNoWriMo superstardom forever. They started the month as auto mechanics, out-of-work actors, and middle school English teachers. They walked away as novelists.

Seriously think about entering. You have a passion for writing, and you may have a novel inside you. What’s the harm? Simply register, buckle down and churn out a book. Maybe your revision will take a few more months, but we just hope you’ll remember Wordclay when you’re finished.

Semalam gua call kedai tu. Nak tanya gua punya Elegan tu dah siap ke belum.

Awek kedai tu kata belum siap lagi AP dari Modenas tu. Gua tak tau la apa masalah sebenar dia. Motor dah ada. Tak tau la kalau diorang ni malas ke apa kan.

Gua mintak lagi kalau boleh bagi settle esok. Kalau gua kena pergi register sendiri kat JPJ pun gua tak kisah. Selamba je gua pergi. Janji boleh dapat motor. Dia kata nanti dia check. Pastu nanti dia call gua balik.

Sampai malam gua tunggu, takde pun awek kedai tu call. So hari ni gua pergi terus kedai tu. Senang boleh terus tanya boss dia ke apa. Member gua si Fit pun ikut sekali. Gua bukan nak pergi marah orang kedai tu. Cuma kalau pergi situ senang sikit nak tanya apa problem, macam mana nak settle.

So memang betul diorang kata AP dari Modenas belum sampai. Diorang cakap esok baru boleh dapat. So diorang janji esok bila siap je dokumen semua, diorang call gua. Gua boleh ambil dokumen tu pastu pergi register sendiri kat JPJ hari Selasa lepas cuti Merdeka.

Nampak gaya tak dapat la gua melaram dengan motor baru cuti merdeka ni.

Windows update stuk

Ik had pc beneden een keertje geformatteerd... Door het jarendag gebruik van men ouders/broers was die nogal verzadigd geraakt op zen systeemschijf :)

Dus formatje, terug versie windows xp erop, laatste service pack erbij (3), wa antivir's en wa basic tools erop. Heel den boek updaten.Klaar is kees.

Dat is ondertussen een maand geleden ofzo...

Nu kijk ik daarnet even op die pc, omda "niemand" een virus heeft binnengehaald en ik merk dat windows nog wat updates mist.
Ik druk even leuk op den update via het mooie gele icoontje in men systray en windows begint zen updates mooi te downloaden.

Een kleine 5 minuten later zegtie dat hij een 25-tal (25 - wtf, nooit geupdate?) updates niet kon installeren.
En inderdaad "wegens een probleem op uw computer kunnen de updates niet geinstalleerd worden" (of iets in die stijl).

Nog eens geprobeerd via de site van windowsupdate zelf, uiteraard zelfde probleem.

Gelukkig weet onze beste Scott Dunner een oplossing in zijn artikel.

Blijkbaar zijn er enkele dll's niet geregistreerd geraakt tijdens 1 of ander proces.
Deze bloody bug in windows doet zich blijkbaar al voor sinds midden 2007.
Swoit, eens proberen :)

It's only been Months since we made history with the march for the "Jena Six", and here we are again, lifting the bar at the Democratic Primaries. Tomorrow, we turn another page in American History. At the Democratic Convention, Barack Obama will announce his Nomination for President of the United States . Two nights ago, Michelle Obama displayed, through her message, what America is supposed to be about. Family, Education, Peace and Hope. She was Beautiful, Strong and Happily married, to the next President of the United States. She spoke Intelligently, with clarity and vision. I found myself filled with admiration and pride of the accomplishments of her and her husband. I went to bed thinking, Michelle and Barack, can change America. What a feeling. Last night, again, Hillary delivered a message to her 18 million supporters and more saying, "No, Way, No McCain". Her Candidate is Barack Obama. Smashing the rumors that questioned her loyalty to Barack's Campaign. Tonight at the Democratic Convention, I look forward to former President, Bill Clinton to do the same. All of our Ducks are in a row, we have everything we need to make "Change" america. A great Democratic Nominee, Barack Obama with a great family. The support of Hillary Clinton, all we have to do is "Register and Vote". Register and Vote. That of course is the challenge as it always has been. We can't afford to think we've won anything. After tonight and tomorrow night, we will be tested again in November. We have to show up.

Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, everyone. Register and Vote.

Blood War contest on Billy vs. Snakeman

I have entered the Blood War contest on Billy vs. Snakeman. The first contestant to complete the Impossible Mission wins. I plan to do so and a key to winning this contest is referrals.

If you have not played Billy vs. Snakeman before, you are missing out. The game is a lot of fun. I'm posting this to ask that if you can, do one of two things for me.

Option 1: Go the http://animecubed.com/billy/?Oberon and create a character. Use Oberron as your referral character when you register. Try the game out. Play at least long enough to get to Chunin rank. This does two things, it gives you enough time to get a feel of the game to see if you will like it. It will also get me a referral link which will help me in the Blood War contest.

Option 2: Help promote the link above and my character name as a referral in your livejournal. It is just a polite request, nothing expected. But let me help you understand why this matters. In this contest, the more referrals I can gather, the better my character will be in the contest. If I can managed 20 referrals, I'll have a major edge over other players. If I can get 50, It will make it an almost certainty I'll win the contest.

It's almost time for our August Dance Dance Revolution tournament! Here's the details:

(*You can choose to come to one day, two days, or all three days - it's up to you!)

All teens ages 13-18 are eligible to compete.
