You see kids, Total Recall was based on a short story entitled "We Can Remember it for you Wholesale" penned by one Philip K. Dick.  He authored such noted novels as Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the story on which the Harrison Ford film Blade Runner was based.  He also wrote Minority Report, Paycheck, and A Scanner Darkly.  It's important to see how steeped this film is in a rich and creamy sci-fi culture.  Throw in a couple A-list actors like Arnie and Sharon Stone, and you've got yourself a fuckin a bloody martian stew of tasty weird goodness.  Total Recall starts out normal enough.  A bored and frustrated construction worker named Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger) is tired of living his sub par ho-hum life so he does what anyone else would do in the "distant future."  He simply goes to a clinic and has new memories that are more interesting and exciting implanted into his brain to replace those boring old yucky ones.  These memories are of a secret agent's suicide mission to Mars.  However Quaid experiences violent fits during the procedure, and upon further examination the clinic discovers that another organization has already replaced his thoughts.  Long story short Quaid actually IS the secret agent.  I'm telling you, you cannot make this shit up.  What's more, Nation, Quaid's hot wife Lori, played by Sharon Stone, is in on the whole thing.   After some shit goes down at Quaid's apartment, he does what I do on a daily basis.  He goes to Mars to get his memory back. 

On Mars is where the movie starts to get interesting.  This where all the classic catch phrases such as "I'll see you at the party Richter", and "If I'm not me, den who da hell am I?" and of course who can forget "Impossible! Once the reaction starts, it'll spread to all the turbinium in the planet. Mars will go into global meltdown. That's why the aliens never turned it on."  Plus you get to see this guy's face inside this other guy's body.  This guy right down here.   Go on Nation have a look.  This is what the leader of the mutants on Mars looks like.

In the end Arnie beats the bad guys, Cohaagen's head explodes due to rapid decompression, and someone fucks someone else.  Not a bad way to kill two hours.  I never mentioned who Cohaagen or Richter was did I?  HEY ALRIGHT!!!

This steamy thriller to end all steamy thrillers stars Michael Douglas as Nick a boozy San Francisco police detective who finds himself drawn to the prime suspect in a murder case--manipulative sexually uninhibited novelist Catherine Trammell (Sharon Stone). Catherine's latest book features a murder uncannily similar to the one Nick is investigating and as the pair engage in a mating dance of dangerous one-upmanship more murders occur all described in her current work about a boozy cop in love with a killer. Nick's psychiatrist (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and cop partner (George Dzundza) are both worried about him and Catherine s jealous lesbian lover (Leilani Sarelle) may be trying to kill him but Nick is just too turned on to care.Director Paul Verhoeven shows an admirable lack of restraint in this ludicrously enjoyable thriller a sort of postmodern noir with Joe Eszterhas s script coming off like Mamet by way of Penthouse. Stone and Douglas exhibit fine chemistry (and most of their bodies) and there's some lovely Bay Area scenery courtesy of cinematographer Jan de Bont (who went on to direct films such as SPEED and TWISTER). Wayne Knight (Newman from SEINFELD) and Mitch Pileggi (Skinner from THE X-FILES) are precinct heads who question Catherine in the infamous leg-crossing scene.

Sucios detalles de la batalla legal que mantiene la actriz Sharon Stone con su ex marido Phil Bronstein por la custodia de su hijo Roan están saliendo a la luz.

El juez que lleva el caso le quitó la custodia del menor de 8 años a la célebre actriz puesto que la define como una madre exagerada, además de "delegar sus responsabilidades como madre en terceras personas" y haberse rehusado a participar en algún tipo de consejo psicológico a no ser "se acomode a su agenda y sus demandas sean atendidas", según publica la revista People.

"Ese tipo de conductas por parte de un padre es inaceptable y no están al servicio de los mejores intereses de un menor", escribió el juez del tribunal de San Francisco en su fallo preliminar.

El juez rechazó la petición de la actriz de Instinto básico para llevarse a su hijo a Los Ángeles, donde ella vive. La actriz fue autorizada a a visitar al niño algunos fines de semana y durante las vacaciones.

Según el magistrado, Stone es "incapaz de proveer la estructura, continuidad y confianza que Roan necesita".

El juez citó ejemplos de actitudes exageradas de la actriz hacia su hijo que incluyen su convencimiento de que el niño sufría de una enfermedad a la espina dorsal y su idea de inyectarle bótox en los pies para quitarle el mal olor.

Among the latest to have their publicists release a statement denying their relationship are Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. That was just her way of playing along with Stryker's obvious come-on. Yup, I'm convinced. Lohan and Ronson are definitely not dating. They just co-ordiate their outfits, kiss in public, and go on vacation alone because they're best friends. Makes perfect sense.

Sharon Stone is also quick to deny reports that she wanted Botox injections for 8-year-old son Roan. Stone says that she was never seeking such treatments for her son, and the entire media-fueled debate was a complete fabrication. This one might be true. Did anybody actually think that the same woman who called the devastating earthquakes in China "karma" could be responsible for such horrible actions towards her son? Really people. Give Ms. Stone some credit.

La actriz Sharon Stone protagoniza esta semana la portada de OK!. La intérprete aparece radiante a sus 50 años y enamorada de Chase Dreyfous, un joven de 24. La protagonista de Instinto básico pasea su felicidad por diversos actos sociales sin importarle lo que opinen los demás. "Soy una mujer valiente, que corre riesgos", asegura Stone en la revista.

I never really cared for Couric one way or the other, but man she is doing a great job at making Ms. Palin look like a TOTAL idiot.  This isn't going to be a rant on Sarah Palin.  There are too many of those already in circulation.  I have to say though that the more I watch these interviews the worse I feel for her.  Not that I pity Sarah Palin, far from it, but I just don't get why she ever would have taken this position.

I feel as though I am constantly trying to learn something about who I am and how I fit into the world.  One of the major pieces to this is learning my limitations.  Not to say that all limitations are forever constant, but there are some inherent truths about ourselves that we just have to face.  For example sometimes life presents us with something and for whatever reason we are just not ready to take on that responsibility yet.  I believe it takes great courage to say "no" when you are self aware enough to know you are not up to the task.  Sure, we should all push ourselves, but come on Sexy Sarah, come on!  You are NOT (nor will you probably ever be) qualified for this job.  You can't even fulfill the simple task of letting America know what news sources use on a regular basis.  I mean seriously, aren't you embarrassed that you can't answer one question with a straight specific answer.  I would be mortified.

Oh and by the way Sharon Stone just lost a serious custody battle which ended in her ex getting "permanent sole custody" of their adopted, yes, adopted son (and he's like 8).  Again, maybe this was just one of those jobs she should have said "thanks, but no thanks to".

I can't believe I waited this long to see Total Recall!  Maybe it was a preconceived notion in my head - Arnold Schwarzenegger + Action Movie = Mindless Entertainment.  However, I must have forgotten that Terminator 2 is one of my favorite movies, or maybe I just haven't seen enough of his movies.

Anyway. Total Recall is based on Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" (great name, right?), which I must read now.  Simply, this is what action/science fiction movies should be like.  It's violent (balanced, I think), has a great story, and makes you think.  The special effects were also ahead of their time.  As I was watching the movie, I began to think of others that influenced it (Blade Runner being one of them), but then again many movies since it came out have been influenced by it (Vanilla Sky, The Fifth Element, The Matrix).  Such a movie that can do that is well worth your time if you enjoyed any of those.

A partir del momento en que el documento salió a la luz, los medios de comunicación estadounidenses se lo devoraron y hoy publican detalles tan estrambóticos como la vez que la Stone sugirió curar el mal olor de los pies de Roan suministrando inyecciones de botox en las extremidades inferiores del pequeño. Pero el documento de 27 páginas, escrito por la juez Anne Christine Massull, entrega aún más detalles que explican la decisión del juzgado de entregarle la custodia completa a Philip Bronstein, de 57 años, el tercer marido de la actriz y antiguo editor del periódico San Francisco Chronicle.

So not only is she a great actress, she is also the best mother you've ever met.  Her 8-yr old had bad foot odor, what do u do?  Foot powder, see a specialist, chalk it up to 8 yr olds being 8.. Not if ur Sharon Stone, you recommend he get botox. Awesome i hope more families follow her example, its never too early to get your kid plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery , whatever you think they need to be a better person.  8 may seem young to you but in hollywood you need to be on your toes right away, he is just lucky that he didn't have any issues before that.  I wish Sharon good luck and hope that she doesn't take her meds or go for help, I love it..

Everyone knows Sharon Stone's a bit wacky, but this week, we found out just how wacky. During the custody battle between Stone and her ex-husband, Phil Bronstein, for their 8-year-old son, Roan. And I think Bronstein's got a pretty good case, since according to court documents:
