There is too much changing. ending.

I am home again for yet another weekend and I'm starting to freak out. Since I only have access to a computer once a week - on weekends - and I only watch anime that time (not to get behind my schedule too much) I don't know anything about anything that's going on anymore. And as if that's not enough, several of the animes that I currently watch and love are ending this (or the previous week) such as To LOVE-Ru, World Destruction, Code Geass R2 (ah, the sorrow) and D.Gray-man and if that doesn't make you shed a tear than there's something wrong with you. That's all on that matter.

Under the week we have watched a few movies again, starting with the great but not scary horror flick The Eye (yes, they finally let us rent it after four weeks); we also saw Stardust and I later on came to the point where I finally watched the whole The Bourne Identity (I would like to add another , but that's a secret between you and me.), now I just have to see The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Or maybe "have" it a wrong choice of word? Anyway, you know what I mean so keep yourself from exploding (or imploding) and hopefully we'll see eachother again next week. ^^

Bourne Ultimatum, The
[ 4 stars out of 4 ]

Jason Bourne pulled a Sydney Bristow. For the fans of the great show called "Alias," you'll know what I'm talking about. If not, that's okay. All the more reason for you to see it. Although I predicted that something like that happened to Bourne, it remains extraordinarily exciting. No one is safe in this supposed final installment. I am immensely glad they had the bravado to kill off a potential main character in the first few scenes, not to mention put Julia Stiles' beloved character in an unimaginable danger in the roofs. It was so exhilirating, I got numb and shaken at several points throughout the film. The assassins are deadlier, the hand-to-hand combats more real, and the car chases at its best. Not to mention desperation is in the air as characters switch from one side to another in search for the truth. I can only hope they make a fourth movie in the future--I can't get enough of Jason Bourne! For me, "The Bourne" series has revolutionized the spy-thriller genre in so many levels. Which one is the best "Bourne" movie? All of them. They're unique in their own way. This one expertly used flashbacks, past dialogues, scenes, character foils, and similar situations that happened in the past two movies. It was eerie yet it provides some form of closure. It reminded me of the last season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." It is officially my favourite film series of all time, right next to "Indiana Jones." "The Bourne Ultimatum" is THE best movie of summer 2007.

28 Days Later
[ 4 stars out of 4 ]

The first time I saw this film, I was in total awe because of how well-written and well-executed it was. Cillian Murphy was great as a man who wakes up in a London hospital, completely unaware that the city has been evacuated... and the ones left are the hungry undead. I must admit that I love placing myself in his shoes, knowing that all of it is fictional. But when I actually had a dream that is extremely similar to this film, I was absolutely horrified and woke up soaked in sweat, my heart pounding a thousand beats per minute. The tone of the film is nothing like I've ever seen in a horror movie, which was really refreshing. The use of silence is masterful and the scares are first class. Although the movie takes a bit of a dive in its third act, it's more than forgivable because the rest of the film was eerily consistent. This was also interesting because this is not a zombie film that takes a look at the global crisis. It focuses on one group of people, which means it is more personal and we get to learn more about the characters as the movie goes along... That is, until or if they get infected by the Rage Virus. This is a modern classic zombie film, which I have no doubt will be a horror favourite twenty or fifty years from now.

28 Weeks Later
[ 4 stars out of 4 ]

A sequel that is as good, at times better, than its predecessor. What made this movie better than the original is that there were more scenes where the characters were being attacked. With that comes a sense of danger lurking around the corner wherever they go, so the audiences anticipate what's coming and it becomes engaging. This movie also had some sort of progress: the focus is now on the family rather than the individual like in the first movie. It also embraced a possibility of how the virus infected others society-wise prior to the first scene in "28 Days Later." Not only that, they also managed to talk about the idea of a mutation and a cure which, as a Biology student, I appreciated because the scientists' explanations made some sort of sense. What this film lacked, nonetheless, is that bleak tone the first movie had--that sense of hopelessness, misery, and isolation. It also lacked a sense of sadness that the first movie fully grasped. This is a solid effort and, I must say, I'm looking forward to "28 Months Later."

It´s time for another top 3. This time it´s about films, my top 3 trilogies. It wasn´t that easy,

It´s time for another top 3. This time it´s about films, my top 3 trilogies. It wasn´t that easy, but it soon became clear witch 3 film trilogies that stood out.

I had some criterias for this list:

there had to be three and only three films in the series.

I had to had seen them all.

NR 3: The Jurassic Park trilogyThe Jurassic park trilogy is third on my top 3 list. So what are they about? Scientists have developed a way to bring dinosaurs to life using DNA taken from dinosaurs blood. Blood that has been preserved inside insects that got trapped in amber. The first film, Jurassic Park came out in 1993. Here John Hammond has built a dinosaur park on a remote island. Hammond puts together a selected audience to view the park, and help him decide if the park is safe or not safe for the public. But things don´t go as planned, as the security system collapses. Setting the dinosaurs free.

Here is the trailer for Jurassic Park:

In 1997 it was time to go back into the Jurassic world. And The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the second film in the trilogy came out in cinemas. This time the plot is slitely different. A rich family on a yacht cruise stumbles over a second island (also known as Site B) with dinosaurs. Site B is where is dinosaurs were being bred for Jurassic Park. But after the failure of Jurassic Park the Site B was left alone, and the dinosaurs were left to themselves. A team is sent to monitor the the dinosaurs lifestyle, before InGen (the company that owns the island) goes to the island to capture the dinosaurs, to bring them back to the US as attractions.

Here is the trailer to The Lost World: Jurassic Park:

The third and last film in the series Jurassic Park 3, came out in 2001. This time round the plot is a rescue mission. 14-year old Eric crashes on the Site B island, and his parents trick Dr. Alan Grant (surviver from the first film) to help them find him. But what the parents didn´t know was that there are two dino islands. And that Dr. Grant was on Site A, not Site B witch they land on to find their son.

Here is the trailer for Jurassic Park 3:

Why the Jurassic Park trilogy?

I remember watching the first film in the cinema as a kid, and was convinced dinosaurs did still exist. And when I heard they were making a second film I couldn´t wait. The reason why this trilogy isn´t higher than number 3, is because the third film isn´t as good as the first two. The Jurassic Park films are always fun to watch, and are my third favorite trilogy.

It was hard to choose witch of the top 2 film trilogies would be number one, both are excellent and great entertainment. But a choice had to be made.

NR 2: The Jason Bourne trilogy
The Jason Bourne trilogy started in 2002 with the film The Bourne Identity

The trilogy starts with a fishing boat rescuing a wounded man out at sea. This man has forgotten everything, including who he is. He soon finds out his name, Jason Bourne. As time goes by he remembers small parts of his past, but wants to know more. On his mission to find out how he is, he meets Marie. Who helps Jason find out more about his identity. But they soon find themselves in the middle of assassination plots by the CIA.

Here is the trailer for The Bourne Identity:

Two years later in 2004, Bourne is back in The Bourne Supremacy.

Jason has now begun a new life with Marie, and has left his old life behind. But the CIA are still after him. A CIA agent is killed and agency´s money is stolen. Jason gets framed for the incident, and fights back.

Hers is the trailer for The Bourne Supremacy:

The last film in the series is The Bourne Ultimatum, and came out in 2007. This film starts off the same night Supremacy finished. Jason is still trying to find out more of his past. He meets up with a reporter who is looking into Blackbriar, a CIA program that Jason thinks he might had been a part of. The CIA are also trying to get hold of the reporter, and find Jason while after the reporter. So the cat and mouse game is on again, this time its the final round. Jason wants to know his entire past.

Here is the trailer for The Bourne Ultimatum:

Why the Jason Bourne trilogy?

The Jason Bourne trilogy are some of the best thrillers ever made. They have it all, action, suspense, good twists, great actors, and what makes it the number 2 trilogy, is all of them plus a fascinating story. You get involved in the story. You want Bourne to win, but at the same time you don´t want it to end. That´s what makes a good film.

So we are now down to the final spot, number one. It is very close between the top 2, but the number one trilogy has the something extra.

NR 1: The Matrix trilogy

"What is The Matrix? Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself." A quote from the film. The year is 1999, and one day Thomas Anderson´s PC gets hacked. He is told to follow the white rabbit. This leads his to Morpheus and Trinity, and they show him what the matrix is. Mr. Anderson gets the choice between a blue pill, and a red pill. The blue pill....... Sorry I cant a good summary of the story because of two reasons. One, the trilogy deserves a much better summary than I can write. Two, the story is so good and complicated, that if I start a summary I wont finish.

So here comes a very very small summary of the Matrix plot: Machines have taken control over the world. In an attempt stop the machines. We humans have taken away the machines life/power course, the sun. But we underestimated the machines. They found a way to survive, by making humans into batteries (they bred humans and turn body heat into power). But their system is flawed, we don´t live long in captivity, we need the Matrix. Mr. Anderson also known as Neo, is supposed to be our savier. I you still don´t understand what the Matrix is, watch the trilogy. Because no one can be told what the Matrix is, You have to see it for yourself.

Here is the trailer for The Matrix:

The first film came out in 1999, the second in the trilogy, The Matrix Reloaded came out in 2003. This time round the machines are building an army to kill the last humans living outside the Matrix, in the last human city Zion. Neo has many hard choices to make in this film, choices between love and the survival of the free human race. Agent Smith (an agent from the Matrix) is now fully after Neo.

Here is the trailer for The Matrix Reloaded:

The Matrix Revolutions, the last film in the best trilogy ever made also came out in 2003. Now the final battle is near, will the free human race survive? Will Neo win against agent Smith?

Here is the trailer for The Matrix Revolutions:

Why The Matrix trilogy?

Where do I start, well I have got to give credit to the Wachowski brothers. They are the directors, writers and producers. The Matrix is their idea, their imagination gone wild. The Matrix is not just a sc-fi action thriller, but it has so many layers. Each time you watch it, you see a new layer. The Matrix film have got alot of attention because of t it´s ground breaking effects. But for me personally it´s the story that is the best part. The trilogy has it all, action, suspense, great twist, great actors, great effects but most of all a fantastic story. Like the Jason Bourne trilogy, you feel for the characters, you want Neo to win, but at the same time don´t want the films to finish.

The Matrix trilogy is my favorite trilogy.

Some of you are might be wundering why these trilogies are not on the list: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and The Godfather. Well the list is of my personal favorites. Lord of the Rings is a very good trilogy, but not one of my personal favorites. I haven´t seen all the Star Wars films so I can´t list them, the reason I haven´t seen them all is because I didn´t really like the ones I have seen. I have only seen two Indiana Jones film so I can´t list them, plus there are now four Indiana Jones films. So its no longer a trilogy. As for the Godfather trilogy, I haven´t seen any of them. I Yes I know i should have, as I do have the trilogy box on DVD.

Well thats my list. What are your favorite trilogies?

A FILM REVIEW BY ROSS MILLER

Personally I am quite a big fan of the Bourne franchise so far. The films have been pretty much as good as you could expect and the third (presumably and hopefully last) instalment is really no different.

(Possibly spoilers from the previous Bourne films)

The story of this instalment directly carries on the story that has been going on since Identity. Jason Bourne is trying to find out about his own past after being shot and subsequently losing his memory. This time he remembers most of what has previously happened to him and he is after the people who made him what he is.

Armed with most of the knowledge of his past and the death of his girlfriend from the previous film adding to his motivation, Bourne now has nothing to lose and goes full throttle to track down the culprits of everything that has happened to him thus far. The film is pretty much non-stop from the get-go. We hardly ever get a moment to catch our breath before Bourne is back on the move, killing various people, who have been sent to kill him, on the way. That’s one of the main things I admired about this film, and just the character and franchise in general. This isn’t Die Hard or some straight-to-DVD movie starring Sylvester Stallone or Steven Segal. In that after every gunshot or fight scene, Bourne doesn’t feel the need to throw in a cheesy/snappy one-liner to seem cool. Bourne just does what he has to do and then quickly (and efficiently I might add) moves onto the next task. He will stop whoever gets in his way (by killing them or just rendering them immobile) and ultimately get the various jobs done.

Another thing I just loved about this movie was the various locations it was shot in. One minute you are in the heart of London, running through crowds and watching Bourne outsmart whoever’s after him. And then the next minute you will find yourself on the flat rooftops of Tangier, yet again being hunted down. This makes what is effectively just a cat-and-mouse style film that bit more interesting.

A lot of people complained about Supremacy having too much of the shaky cam, which is down to director Paul Greengrass and his liking for using handheld cameras in his movies. I also had a problem with the overuse of the shaky cam technique applied within the second film and before seeing this I had hoped they toned it down a little. I am glad to say, although the same technique is used, that the shaky cam isn’t used as frantically. It was as if Greengrass gave himself and his camera crew a sedative and calmed them all down so that the audience can actually see what is going on instead of it just being a blur of punching and kicking. In my opinion Greengrass is the most talented director at using the “over the shoulder”, handheld camera technique (shown in 2006’s United 93) and here he proves once again how good he is at it. He has this way of using said technique to make you feel like you are right there in the room as a sort of outside observer..whose on the inside. Personally I think Greengrass was the perfect choice to pick up the camera for the rest of the series as he makes what would have been monotonous action into something so much more entertaining and worthwhile.

I have heard a few people say that this instalment is basically just Supremacy all over again only with everything amped up a lot more. And to an extent I can see where they are coming from. There is a lot of the same type of scenes employed here; we have the almost necessary fight sequence in the apartment between Bourne and a assassin of some sort, we have the complicated but smart talking on the phone to the CIA and of course the frantic car chase sequence where Bourne ends up getting crashed into multiple times. And yet I still found all of this and everything else in the movie very satisfying and entertaining to watch. And I really didn’t mind at all that I had seen something similar before. In my eyes they did it different (and better) enough that it didn’t phase me.

The film does have its fair share of problems, as does any movie (especially of this sort). There is a feeling throughout the movie that we could have went more in-depth with some of the technical stuff and also not everything is explained as well as it could have been. Also there is a a lot of names thrown around, a lot faces who I was not sure who they were and some of it does rely on prior knowledge of the first two films. Despite all those things the film has an abundance of strengths that almost make you believe you are watching a perfect action movie. And that its flaws don’t exist.

I had always thought of Damon as more of a talking actor rather than a great action star. Even though I liked him in the first two instalments of this series I still wasn’t 100% convinced. After seeing The Bourne Ultimatum I am fully on-board with him as a fully fledged action star and I can only hope he will continue to make action films as well as his other stuff.

Although not my personal favourite of the franchise it is arguably the best. Despite its flaws this is pretty much as good as a modern-day action movie gets. I may sound like a broken record here but this is by far the best big summer movie (funnily enough it’s the last one) this year and I can happily look on from now to the quality of cinema heading our way in the fall.

Just finished watching The Bourne Ultimatum for the nth time...man do I need to get some better movies or what!

Anyways, coming back to the post... the more I watch the movie, the more I know what's coming in the next frame, so the more I have started focusing on other things...and here's what struck me suddenly.

Everything else about the CIA's "firepower" seems ok, except for the amount of data that the agency is shown to have access to in the movie. I mean, look at it. the movie shows them as having not just good old physical access using ground support...they have been shown to have almost real-time access to almost any kind of electronic data... phone calls, emails, everything!

Is it really possible to have such high levels of electronic eavesdropping currently? Do agencies really have the computing power to compare all sorts of electronic transmission against a set of keyword-based alerts on a real-time basis? Also, do they currently have the authority to do such things? Across international boundaries?

Now that's a whole bunch of nasty questions cropping up in my head...and i don't think I can stop thinking about them till I find at least some answers...so...I guess I should start with some existing reference books.

It's been a long time since I read that good old book lying on my bookshelf - Database Nation - think it should be a good starting point!

HUGE Bourne fan! HUUUUGE! That said, The Bourne Ultimatum wasn't quite as good as the first two, and I'll tell you why (without spoilers), but it's still better than most of what's out there.

The good-awesome, awesome, awesome action sequences. Incredible stuff. Damon is as intense as ever. The locations are still gorgeous and realistic. While there are obviously special effects, none of it seemed so outlandish that it couldn't happen in real life. Sure, Bourne must have nine lives, but it's not like someone couldn't survive all the car crashes and such. Not likely, but also not impossible.

The bad-I had a headache when I saw it with my wife, and the shaky-cam shooting style got a little nauseating. Literally. But, that's my fault, not the movie's. We finally get some answers about Jason Bourne, and they can't help but be a bit anti-climatic. We so love our mystery men, and once they cease to be a total mystery, they get a little bit more like us, and let's face it, most of us are kind of boring. Furthermore, I really miss Bourne's love interest, Marie. Without her, I think an important component of Jason Bourne is missing, and he's less relatable as a result.

So, in summation, while I loved the action, Damon's acting, and the locations, I just didn't care about the plot of The Bourne Ultimatum, and the plot is the soul of any movie.

I just finished my third advance course with the great Dinesh bhaiya [ thats for the next post]. I watched the movie The Bourne Ultimatum with Srivatsan and Vishnu [ even thoug it was released in 2007, i watched it now after a lot of brooding by my friends, i generally don watch action movies].

The Bourne Ultimatum is an intelligent, finely tuned non-stop thrill ride. Another strong performance from Matt Damon and sharp camerawork make this the finest installment of the Bourne trilogy.

The government's most wanted amnesiac super-spy returns in this thrilling third installment in the Jason Bourne franchise. THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM picks up where the THE BOURNE SUPREMACY left off, with Bourne once again racing around the globe, desperate to uncover the secrets of his identity. Having just lost his girlfriend and only companion, his search for answers is now fuelled by much more than his own self-preservation. The film kicks off with Bourne tracking down a British journalist who he believes has valuable information about his past. He quickly discovers that the government conspiracy runs far deeper than he realized, and so begins a riveting, action-packed game of cat and mouse with the CIA. Bourne plows through the bad guys like a mini-tornado, and after some breathtaking fight sequences and several nail-biting car chases, he closes in on the truth in a climactic stand-off on the streets (and rooftops) of New York City. Joan Allen and David Strathairn are excellent as two battling CIA directors, and Julia Styles pops up for a small but important turn as Bourne's former government contact. Matt Damon continues to give Bourne the perfect mix of tough guy determination and sad-eyed desperation, and despite his physics-defying fists, he never comes off as the invincible super hero. Rather, the appeal of Bourne remains in his humanness--he feels pain, bloodies his knuckles, and mourns the loss of his lover. It's this emotional and physical vulnerability that keeps you on the edge of the seat, holding your breath for him. Well, that and the totally awesome fight scenes, of course.

PS: This is an out and out action movie.

Okay. These are my top 12 movies of all-time that I’ve ever seen. There might be some surprise

Okay. These are my top 12 movies of all-time that I've ever seen. There might be some surprises. I guarantee that. Feel free to comment with your Top 12 and with your disputes with mine.

12. 10,000 B.C. (STARRING STEVEN STRAIT AND CAMILLA BELLE, DIRECTOR: ROLAND EMMERICH)

This might be an interesting choice to put on a Top 12 list, but I enjoyed all the performances and the action. It seemed to create a realistic prehistoric world. There was nothing too outlandish or crazy. It was great. The direction wasn't superb, but it was good.

11. MIRACLE (STARRING KURT RUSSEL AND NOAH EMMERICH, DIRECTOR: GAVIN O'CONNOR)

As a huge hockey fan, I really enjoyed this movie because of the realistic hockey action. I also like O'Connor getting the camera in the face of the game, giving a hockey game a whole new look. This was probably the best part of the film, aside from Kurt Russell (Tombstone) as coach Herb Brooks, who might get a Prince eventually, whenever I figure out how.

10. WALL-E (STARRING VOICES CREATED BY BEN BURTT, SCREENWRITER: ANDREW STANTON AND JIM REARDON)

This will be the only animated film you will find in my Top 12, and here's why. I find that animated films limit the abilities of an actor. You do not see their real facial expressions or physical movements, things that made Heath Ledger's The Joker in The Dark Knight a great character. But this film was so well written and so fun and funny that I couldn't leave it out.

9. FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF (STARRING MATTHEW BRODERICK AND ALAN RUCK, DIRECTOR: JOHN HUGHES)

What can I say about this film that would be bad. I really liked the performance of Matthew Broderick ( in this film. In fact, I based a character off of Ferris and Will Smith's character in my #1 film in my award-winning short Dr. Elite, which won me Best Director at the film festival at my school. Overall, this film is funny and well-acted and well-written. Credit John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) and Matthew Broderick (The Cable Guy) for making this movie a classic from the 80s.

8. GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK (STARRING GEORGE CLOONEY AND DAVID STRATHAIRN, DIRECTOR: GEORGE CLOONEY)

George Clooney (Ocean's Eleven) pulls triple duty here, directing, writing, and starring in this drama about the outbreak of McCarthyism in the 1950s and the people who tried to stop it. Clooney plays Fred Friendly, producer of David Strathairn's Edward R. Murrow's evening TV show. Strathairn (We Are Marshall) was nominated for Best Leading Actor by the Academy and Clooney was nominated for Best Director. Oh, maybe I forgot to say that it was one of those rare PG movies that gets a Best Picture nomination. This appeals to me because Clooney and Strathairn, two of my favorite actors, appear and it outlines an important time in American history, my favorite kind of history, which is my favorite subject.

7. THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (STARRING MATT DAMON AND DAVID STRATHAIRN, DIRECTOR: PAUL GREENGRASS)

I really like Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting) (Hint: he will appear in another film later in my Top 12) and David Strathairn (he was in #8) in the third part of the Bourne series based off books by Robert Ludlum. This film is the most realistic of the series and very well-informed. Albert Finney also has a great performance in a small part. Joan Allen and Julia Stiles also star. There are talks of a sequel for sometime in 2010.

6. OCEAN'S ELEVEN (2001) (STARRING GEORGE CLOONEY AND BRAD PITT, DIRECTOR: STEVEN SODERBERGH)

This is the best in the trilogy of the adventures of Danny Ocean (George Clooney, Good Night and Good Luck) and his crew, which includes professional criminal Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt, Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and young pickpocket Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon, The Bourne Ultimatum). I like this comedy because it is funny and very exciting. It also seems realistic without going into deep detail and drawing out the film. Of the two sequels, Thirteen is better but neither is close to the greatness of Ocean's Eleven.

5. BE KIND REWIND (STARRING MOS DEF AND JACK BLACK, DIRECTOR: MICHEL GONDRY)

This may not be the top film of 2008 (that comes later), but it is a movie with great fun and energy. It appeals to me because it is about something that I like to do: making movies. But Jack Black (Nacho Libre) and Mos Def (16 Blocks) remake old movies with real cheap special effects and such. And it is priceless. I gave it an A- in my review. That's probably better to look at for my opinion than this.

4. I AM LEGEND (STARRING WILL SMITH, DIRECTOR: FRANCIS LAWRENCE)

I Am Legend is probably my favorite performance from Will Smith (Men in Black), and he was also in the #1 movie in this countdown. Smith stars as Robert Neville, the last man on earth as the result of the spread of a virus. The virus was supposed to be the cure for cancer, but... you know how that turns out. He has to fight off evil creatures that are similar to vampires in that they have a bad reaction to UV rays. This is a Smith different from the one we see in Men in Black and on TV's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He is more emotional and real.

3. THE PRINCESS BRIDE (STARRING CARY ELWES AND ROBIN WRIGHT PENN, DIRECTOR: ROB REINER)

This film will always be in my top 3 films of all-time, I can pretty much guarantee that. It's comedy, action, drama, romance, suspense, all that, packed into one great film. I gave it an A. Read the review.

2. THE DARK KNIGHT (STARRING CHRISTIAN BALE AND HEATH LEDGER, DIRECTOR: CHRISTOPHER NOLAN)

Read my review, again. I gave it an A mostly because of Heath Ledger. But everything else was good too.

And number 1 is...

1. HITCH (STARRING WILL SMITH AND KEVIN JAMES, DIRECTOR: ANDY TENNANT)

This is one of the funniest movies ever made. Will Smith gives his second best performance as a dating consultant for a lonely accountant (Kevin James, TV's The King of Queens) trying to woo his celebrity client (Amber Valletta, Transporter 2) while dealing with a gossip columnist he has fallen for (Eva Mendes, Ghost Rider). This confusing mess is portrayed well by all four actors. Smith is classically humorous as he talks to the audience and reminds me of his Fresh Prince days as Will helping out a clueless Carlton. James makes a great feature film debut as the hapless Albert Brennaman. Valletta, more known for being a model, plays a great celebrity with charitable intentions while dealing with an admittedly-overweight suitor. And Mendes makes a great gossip columnist wanting to know more about the date doctor. It's a great film with a great script and great direction.

That's my Top 12.

As noted above, with emphasis: She is not Elektra from Daredevil.

V. poor airline security at the arrival airport which means one can just run really fast to get past all the armed guys in a post 9-11 world. Only in America.

A lacksadaisical approach to decorating, resulting in many slips, trips and falls.

The Verdict:

15 Pigs total. This was no Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. A William Shatner from Airplane 2 The Sequel cameo would have only bettered the score.

Ok so maybe it's old news but I have always been a bit slow on the up-take (oi, don't laugh too loud there buddy!) but over the past three Sundays I have been progressively making my way through the Jason Bourne series and OMG it's awesome!!

I had seen the first one ages ago and then the 2nd one ages after that but to see them all in such close sequence makes it so much better!

Go rent them now! do it - you'll find the first two in the "Weekly" section of your local movie rental place and the third one will most likely be in the "3 day" section... well at least that's what the go was in Lyttelton anyways...

It’s like Top Gear… in America.

The UK’s biggest motoring programme hops across the pond to deliver high-octane thrills to the US – swapping Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May for a trio of American hosts in Top Gear USA.

The new series of Top Gear starts in the UK this Sunday with the familiar line up of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

Meanwhile, the new American version will feature radio personality and comedy star Adam Carolla, stunt driver Tanner Foust, and soap opera actor and builder Eric Stromer.

There is no word however, on whether ‘Fat Stig’ – who appeared when the Top Gear trio headed to the States – will star in the new series.

Jeremy Clarkson – who recently turned 48 years old – delivered a trademark riposte: “This is fantastic news – but how on earth you lot are going to do it on the wrong side of the road I’ve no idea.”

Sitting in Adam Carolla’s garage are several classic Lamborghinis, Maseratis, two Ferraris and an Audi S4.

Tanner Foust – who performed stunt driving for The Bourne Ultimatum, The Fast and the Furious and The Dukes of Hazard – has a fully kitted BMW M3.

And ‘heart-throb’ Eric Stromer? He apparently prefers his Toyota Camry Hybrid.

Which of these three presenters match up to their UK counterparts? Will Top Gear USA be a success?
