I tend to lean toward the deep meanings of life. As in that life is never as simple as it appears to be. I know it is for certain people, but I've come to the realization (due to the genetic make-up of my person) I will always fight simplicity with over thought complexity. It's just how it is. I can fight how savvier but the notion of stopping it all together would call for genetic remake. In that I progress toward the idea I watched and felt this morning during my lazy Sunday morning coffee/TV activity.

There's this show (I've mentioned before) called "Quarterlife" about several 25 year-old friends battling and existing through the jungle of their twenties. I've mentioned before that this is the first show on television that I meet eye-to-eye with. I know what they mean as they question the overal compexity of "what the hell their doing" and "how in the world did I end up here." As I'm watching I'm coming to self realization that I stand between two worlds that don't collide together AND do not know how to exist together. (At least to me they don't)

The first world is the era of old; the one that I grew up with and became immune to. The world that I only thought to exist and right in it's own weird "old" perversion of conservative right and catholic family reunions. Yesterday, I spent a small portion of my afternoon talking with my mom about things from my childhood (such as my parents marriage in addition to things about my brother and I) and I had this spark of "light bulb theory" that this perfect world of "safe harbor" was skewed. In the best terms, that life in which I grew up all of the sudden became this clear understanding not anything "safe" but normal.

You have to understand that (in my mind) growing up was never normal. I wasn't living with the mindset that my family was normal. I thought normal was screwed up and constantly proving the sad statistics of our nations divorce rates, marital affairs and child abuse (verbal or physical, neglect, resentment, etc.). So, to realize that normal isn't that scary ushered new level of peace I haven't experienced yet.

Anyways, it hits me that this first, old world that I grew up with was a mold I don't think I've ever been created to fill. I could easily just to accomplish the things I feel the need to check off this list, but I fear within a few short years of checking things off I would find myself totally void of who I really am and looking for the nearest exit.

So, in this second world I find the immediate comfort I'm looking for. I'm a day dreamer with a sidebar of over thinking realism and personal in depth mindset. AKA mentally dramatic to the core and crushes her own dreams with reality that isn't hers.

In this second world you get an urge and you take it. You jump the nearest train and stop complaining "why not" and start asking "when". Ah, great words for a "scared-shitless" person. You know I really don't like that term. It makes me always think of poop (which would be the point, I guess) but I don't want to be known as one who craps her self with fear. Let's rephrase that to "easily detered". Good.

But seriously, I complain about how this is me and why I can't grab it. I'm scared. I'm scared of failing and loosing so much to grasp something I never should have went after. I know, I know...you'll never know until you try, but it's in the trying that I stop being able to breath. I laugh it off like it's no big deal and ideas I get from people who are not business minded like me. I make myself believe that those ideas I have are rooted in that little girl, niave mentality that will never succeed unless they stay, work and deal.

There's something deep within me that wants to just jump. Something that wants to just take hold of this feeling and take as far as it can take me. But, then I get bogged down with those damn bills I have here (cable, rent, vet, internet, car, job). I just recently started a new job and have only been in it for less than six months. I want to commit at least one year to a job due to the fact I know how much time and money they invest in someone new, but I already feel no desire to go to work. It takes new hair cuts and promises to myself of coffee pick-me-ups to make through my days M-F. I don't enjoy where I work or what I do unless I'm constantly on a project. I'm not meant to be where I am or am I.

I am a woman of faith and believe EVERYTHING works out for a reason. We're where we are with the people we're with for a reason. Some things are clearer than others. Predestination? I don't think so. I think God knows in advance what we're going to do, but the course is still up to us in how we spend it on this earth. So, in this thought, I ask "what am I doing here?"

It's that thought provoking question that wants to push the dramatic person inside of me to cry, lay on the floor and wish for something better, BUT that could also be the sad song that was just playing on m iPod that made me feel that way.

Damn, this is a long blog.

The question I wish I could answer for myself is where would I go? Another would be how do I get there? Then onto the taking that jump. Jump...it's going to take more than a powerful, life provoking song and TV show to help me get there. I have this inability to do something that displeases those I term to be of authority in my life. My parents being one set and my co-workers/boss being the second. I'm such a little girl.

I applaud those who chase their pointless dreams to determine what from life their wanting to get. Pointless to me they may seem, but the JUMP towards them is something I fear and they do blindly. OH MY GOSH I WOULD LOVE TO JUMP!

End Note: I really need to fix my Airport. I'm having to stay in one spot on my couch because my Ethernet only reaches so far. Suck.

As I am watching, catching up on past episodes and read all the blogs on spoilers I start realizing everyone is connected some how. There's some connection between each character linking them to this island that they find themselves presently lost on.

In my own life I keep finding the same thing.

Example #1:
-I love this blog I found (I don't even know how I found it) about this woman in Ireland. She has several websites, but this one in particular is about her and her life. Nothing on "how to's" or business or anything like that. (Note: I featured a link to her on another blog I wrote today.)

As I'm reading her blog one day, she links to another blog that I have learned to really love. I'm reading his blog and low-and-behold I read that he has an account with LAST.FM. I most recently signed up with them (would explain the music box to the left) and am loving their website. THUS, I am linked to someone through something new; better yet LAST.FM.

Example #2:

Today, I really, really want to move to London. Sure there are several, in fact millions, other places to move to, but since I was a little girl I've wanted to go. So, I search online for the "how to pick up your whole life and move to London" blog, story, something. This is what I find: "Moving to London: Muesli's Blog". I'm reading this blog about her (him?) moving to London from Germany and then they say this, "Right now, I'm sitting in the Last.fm office, my new employer over here..." WHAT? LAST.FM has become a common thread for me.

My question is what's next? What will I next be connected to? Hopefully non of my exes or bad relationships/friendships/people, but something great. Something telling me "you're moving to London" or "here's money to buy something you don't need" or "you just lost 25 pounds". Either way, I hope it's good.

I procedimenti così aperti si svolgeranno nel rispetto delle garanzie procedurali previsti dalla legge e dai regolamenti dell’Autorità.

"Art. 4 (Principi generali del sistema radiotelevisivo a garanzia degli utenti) - 1. La disciplina del sistema radiotelevisivo, a tutela degli utenti, garantisce:

a) l'accesso dell'utente, secondo criteri di non discriminazione, ad un'ampia varietà di informazioni e di contenuti offerti da una pluralità di operatori nazionali e locali, favorendo a tale fine la fruizione e lo sviluppo, in condizioni di pluralismo e di libertà di concorrenza, delle opportunità offerte dall'evoluzione tecnologica da parte dei soggetti che svolgono o intendono svolgere attività nel sistema delle comunicazioni;

b) la trasmissione di programmi che rispettino i diritti fondamentali della persona, essendo, comunque, vietate le trasmissioni che contengono messaggi cifrati o di carattere subliminale o incitamenti all'odio comunque motivato o che inducono ad atteggiamenti di intolleranza basati su differenze di razza, sesso, religione o nazionalità o che, anche in relazione all'orario di trasmissione, possono nuocere allo sviluppo fisico, psichico o morale dei minori o che presentano scene di violenza gratuita o insistita o efferata ovvero pornografiche, salve le norme speciali per le trasmissioni ad accesso condizionato che comunque impongano l'adozione di un sistema di controllo specifico e selettivo;

e) la trasmissione di apposita rettifica, quando l'interessato si ritenga leso nei suoi interessi morali o materiali da trasmissioni o notizie contrarie a verità, purché tale rettifica non abbia contenuto che possa dare luogo a responsabilità penali o civili e non sia contraria al buon costume;"

Il discorso sull'informazione è troppo lungo ed è già affrontato da tempo da persone ovviamente più competenti del sottoscritto; tuttavia quando si parla di pluralismo e libertà di concorrenza mi scappa troppo da ridere, o da piangere, scegliete voi.

Qui però siamo veramente al collasso, anzi, al rovesciamento di un sistema malato da tempo; ma quando mai, in quale paese civile si aprono delle istruttorie su programmi che informano la gente su ciò che sta accadendo in Italia. Se un programma televisivo di informazione fosse decente, non fatto bene, ma almeno decente, allora si vedrebbero meno tette, meno Amici, meno fake-reality e più fatti, più verità e più libertà. Un paese dove uno come Grillo al cui seguito stanno milioni di persone deve avere visibilità per amor d'informazione. Non si può bollare di eresia e di illegalità le persone sono perchè stanno sulle palle alla Cast(in)a, o meglio, all'oligarchia; questo è totalitarismo. Le persone non devono sparire!

Ciò non toglie il sacrosanto diritto alla replica, il sacrosanto obbligo morale di verità e l'assoluto rispetto; ma ciò che ha detto Travaglio è stato solo citare un pezzo del suo libro, a sua volta preso da un altro libro scritto anni prima da un illuminato giornalista dell'ANSA, a sua volta recuperato dagli atti giudiziari dei processi che ben si sa essere pubblici.

Io non sono uno dei tanti che hanno gridato "vaffanculo" (solo per amor di educazione), però mi rendo sempre più conto che forse prima o poi potrebbe veramente scapparmi!

With all this talk of Miley Cyrus becoming the next biggest star in the world pretty quickly, I have came to a conclusion of something that I had never thought of before. Billy Ray Cyrus, hasn't had a hit album since "Some Gave All" a multi-platinum album that was a big hit back in 1992. That was the only album that I know of that had a big hit in his career. Billy Ray never had a successful music career ever since that album.

Now he is set to host "Nashville Star" this year thanks to his daughter Miley Cyrus. Soon Billy Ray will once again become the next biggest mega star of the world like he once was in '92, and not Miley Cyrus. I see Miley's career being held down with all this sex photos talk with her in the media lately because of Billy Ray's success recently.

If Billy Ray's daughter was never this big and famous, then no one would care about Billy Ray Cyrus and wouldn't be hosting "Nashville Star".

If you think and read between the lines, you'll soon start to see that Billy Ray is using Miley Cyrus for his own fame. You're welcome.

I just watched all 13 episodes of Kitchen Confidential, the sitcom based on Anthony Bourdain’s book. What was Fox thinking to launch – and sink – that show in 2005 after airing only 4 episodes? It oozes untapped potential.

I ordered DVDs through Netflix, but you can watch it here online. It left me wanting more, much more.

Bradley Cooper played chef Jack Bourdain with Tony’s wild side and signature thumb ring, but minus the wife. In fact, he gets dumped by his girlfriend in the first episode, leaving him free to pursue ladies on both sides of the kitchen door in a manner that’s fantasy fodder for Tony’s fans – male and female alike.

The ensemble cast includes some standouts. Because they seem right from the pages of Bourdain’s book, my favorites are John Cho as Teddy Wong the fish guy, Owain Yeoman as Steven Daedelus the sous chef, and Frank Alvarez as Ramon the dishwasher.

If Fox had given the cast a chance to shake out and jell, they could have made a team to rival Cheers.

Frank Langella plays Pino, the owner of Nolita. The restaurant setting inspires plots as refreshing as sorbet. In addition to obligatory slapstick, like the fingertip that turns up in a customer’s meal, in one episode, Jack fights to serve sweetbreads. In another, they call “brunch” another word for hell, but go for it anyway. They rumble with a rival French restaurant that steals their menu.

Anthony Bourdain apparently had nothing to do with the scripts, but his sharp wit remained intact.

Fox ran only 3 episodes in a too-early time slot (8:30), obviously unaware that Bourdain fans would expect lots of spice. Then they yanked it for 2 months, aired one more episode, and killed it.

Big mistake.

If you love Kitchen Confidential the book, I think you’ll enjoy the series. I give it 2 (severed) thumbs up!

No, this morning, Ms. Meade's pendant had to take a backseat to Bob Van Dillon's haircut. I was walking by the TV, caught a glimpse of gorgeous Bob in that short, spiky military cut and literally stopped whatever I was doing. He might have been talking about the weather. I don't know.

Against that blue shirt, his red tie was busy ...  we all know how blue and red look together on TV! It was like Japanese animation... (I could have had a seizure.) Then again, the fact that he was sans coat, which I prefer, made up for it.

The hot weatherman (and the occasionally hot anchorman) trend is distracting in a way that makes me understand how my husband can listen to Robin for an entire 30 minutes and not comprehend ONE news story. CNN knows this, and ensures our viewership as we all swear to ourselves we will PAY ATTENTION the next time that certain story (or forecast) comes around.

The Weather Channel depends on Jim Cantore to bring in all their female viewers... (if there is another hot weatherman on there, I missed him. Someone clue me in!) According to the internet searches I track with this blog, every day at least two people do a search for a shirtless Jim Cantore. It might be wise for The Weather Channel to just oil him up, clip that mic to his nipple and watch the ratings soar.

I mean, even though he is fully dressed, I have seen Bob's forecast three times so far this morning, but I still don't know if it's gonna rain. All I know is if it does, his hair will still look damn good.

La Comisión Federal de Competencia (Cofeco) autorizó ayer a Televisa la adquisición de 49% de Cablemás, tras determinar que la empresa de Emilio Azcárraga Jean cumplió con la condición impuesta por este órgano antimonopolio para adquirir a la cablera.

En julio de 2007, la Comisión que preside Eduardo Pérez Motta impuso a Televisa que fijara un precio unificado en la venta de sus contenidos a otros operadores de televisión de paga.

En consecuencia, Televisa presentó en diciembre de ese año una serie de compromisos que daban cumplimiento a las condiciones de must offer, must carry e independencia de otras redes de televisión por cable, refirió la Cofeco en un comunicado.

Agregó que el plazo para acreditar la entrega de estos contenidos vencía el 4 de abril de 2008.

Con ello, la Cofeco garantizaba que todas las empresas de televisión restringida —que por su escala estuvieran en una posición desfavorable de negociación— se beneficiaran del mejor precio que ofrece Televisa por sus contenidos, independientemente del tipo de red.

Así, se evitaba que Cablevisión, filial de Televisa, accediera a una tarifa diferenciada frente al resto de competidores.

En oferta pública, que la misma Cofeco vigiló, Televisa recibió 168 solicitudes por parte de concesionarios de televisión por cable, de los que sólo se registró una queja que ponía en duda el cumplimiento de las condiciones impuestas.

Sin embargo, Televisa acreditó que, en este caso específico, la empresa interesada no entregó la documentación que respaldara su título de concesión y las facultades de su representante legal, necesaria para beneficiarse de la oferta pública.

Con todo, la empresa involucrada mantiene su derecho a acogerse a la oferta pública en cuanto entregue la información necesaria para suscribir el contrato, indicó Cofeco.

Apuntó que de forma independiente al vencimiento del plazo, las condiciones impuestas por Cofeco tienen vigencia permanente.

“Televisa estará obligada, en cualquier momento, a ofrecer en términos no discriminatorios sus contenidos audiovisuales de televisión abierta a cualquier concesionario de televisión restringida que los solicite (must offer) y a garantizar el acceso, también de manera no discriminatoria, de otras señales de televisión abierta a las redes de te-levisión restringida en que participa esta empresa (must carry)”.

Condicionó además que para garantizar la independencia respecto de otras redes, deberá acreditarse a más tardar en noviembre del próximo año la salida de Cablemás de PCTV, la sociedad de compra de contenidos en la que hasta ahora participa junto con otros concesionarios de televisión restringida.

El cumplimiento de una condición análoga deberá acreditarse en agosto de 2008 para el caso de TVI, que participó en una fusión similar con Televisa en febrero de 2007.

Con las operaciones de Cablevisión, Cablemás y Televisión Internacional (TVI), Grupo Televisa concentraría poco más de 37% del mercado de la televisión por cable, en número de usuarios, de acuerdo con especialistas.

Sin embargo, de sumar las operaciones de SKY, Televisa alcanzaría 47% del mercado total de televisión de paga, incluyendo microondas.

Moderatorin Mary Amiri, zur Zeit bei Vox mit der Sendung "Wolkenlos" zu sehen, hat für den Playboy die Hüllen fallen lassen. Fast komplett nackt, zeigt sich die braungebrannte Schöne sehr exotisch in einer überaus ästhetischen Bilder-Serie.

Die hübsche 36-jährige war erstmals beim Disney-Channel zu sehen. Ich bin aber der Meinung, dass sie bei "Wolkenlos" eine besseren Platz gefunden hat. Schließlich ist Mary auf jeden Fall einen Hingucker wert, wenn sie sich auch im TV zur Anmoderation im Bikini zeigen darf. Mainly because we tend to act together - people like to behave as a group. I would say "herd" but that might sound a bit harsh. As Aristotle has put it, a man is by nature a social animal.

People also don't like it when they get unsolicited calls (I hang up as soon as I realize that it is not personal) more than they like advertisements they encounter online. We fast forward commercials on TV if we can, or just use that time to take a break from what we are watching. But the negative feeling towards these TV commercials is not as strong as it is on the internet. Some commercials we might even like, and show our friends - "hey you have to see this one, it is so cool" style.

I believe it's because we see every advertisement when we are alone surfing the web. Just like unsolicited phone calls. So it is not personal on the one hand, and we don't feel like we're part of a group on the other hand.

They aren't even TRYING anymore.
