per dare i'idea di volume, effetto "imbottito", mentre chiudo ai due lati infilo dentro il cristallo mm 6 con le due asole alle estremità. In questo modo risolvo anche lo spinoso problema del gancio in quel punto.....

....stamane con l'unione delle due estremità con il riquadro centrale. Lavoro piuttosto impegnativo nella realizzazione ma alla fine ne sono soddisfatta.

La chiusura è realizzata con wire mm 0,9 col. ruggine .

Je moet blijkbaar eerst ontslag nemen om geholpen te worden. En ik dacht dat werkwinkels er waren om mensen aan het werk te zetten (en houden). Hoe naïef van mij.

Sounds cheesy (pardon the pun), but some women dread revealing their occupation. Who are they? They're women with impressive jobs—doctors, lawyers, engineers.

And a woman having an impressive job always yields the same reaction from a man: Confusion, awkwardness, that moment when he's wondering, "Is my job as an assistant manager of a copy shop going to sound pitiful?"

Apparently just because you have a lot of degrees on your wall doesn't mean you have a lot of suitors at your door. And as women continue to achieve higher-level jobs, there are smarter, accomplished gals who have to face the fact that they may intimidate men. In fact, in 2003, women accounted for 36% of all chemists, 28% of all lawyers, 30% of all physicians and surgeons, and — wow — 66% of all psychologists.

So are successful women doomed to a life of tense cheese-tray introductions? Of course not. These women can either be patient till an equally high-powered man or a naturally confident fellow turns up. Or they can know how best to present their career so as not to scare off less-assured guys.

Here, some pointers:

Ask for advice. Bring your career down to reality, suggests John Gray, Ph.D., author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Open up and show a vulnerable side right from the beginning, "When a woman immediately senses that a man is intimidated, she should find a way of communicating that she has a need for some advice," Dr. Gray explains: "For example, if she's a doctor, she could talk to him about something frustrating that happened at the hospital that day." Dr. Gray points out that men want to feel needed, so this tactic is a good way to bring him inside your circle.

Chat up guys about their career. "I say date someone who is as equally passionate about their job as you are," recommends Jill Farrar, a lawyer. "After speaking legal jargon all day, that's the last thing I want to come home to. I find myself usually dating doctors, architects or even salesmen—guys who are consumed with their jobs and want to swap stories with me."

Find equal footing. Don't let the conversation just be about work. Find a way to change the topic to something you can both relate to: The last movie you saw, your favorite spot for a hike, the wine-tasting class you're taking next week. The goal here is to get talking about mutual interests—or hobbies you can share with one another. This isn't just resume-trading time. Show what else makes you tick.

Know when it's not going to work…Still, some high-powered gals know that there are some situations where it's best to say 'there are other fish in the sea': "I dated a guy who couldn't get over the fact that I had a Master's degree," admits Whitney Bessler. "Since he hadn't been to college, he would always remind me that I had two more degrees than him. He even made a point to read the newspaper right before he would pick me up. I didn't care about our educational differences. But I did care that he made an issue out of it." Whitney packed up her two framed diplomas and left.

And what if a guy is perhaps too pleased about your turbo-charged career? That's a situation Kory Jones, a surgical resident, faced. She thought dating a musician / bartender would provide a nice balance to her intense, life-and-death, grueling-schedule job. "Most guys I date get fed up with the amount of time I spend at work," explains Dr. Jones. "But this guy encouraged it. He told me to work hard so that when I was done with my residency I would 'make the big bucks.' The last straw was when he introduced me as his Sugar Mama." The lesson here? Sometimes you don't have to think too hard to know when a relationship just isn't going to work.

Dus zijn we gedwongen een uurtje over te schakelen op een andere radiozender. Een mens doet zo nog eens ontdekkingen! Radio Alma heet de verrassing en net rond 12 uur draaien ze daar fijne roots reggaeplaatjes die aan elkaar gepraat worden door een Italiaan met een Jamaicaans accent. Om zomers vrolijk van te worden.

Na het programma gaat Radio Alma verder met waar ze goed in zijn: Italiaanse en latinohits draaien. Zelfs de reclame stoort ons niet (spotjes voor Proximus in het Spaans - mihihi). De occasionele Franse chanson moet je er dan wel bijnemen.

Alleen te beluisteren in Brussel, helaas.

Het lief van mijn jongste zus werkt bij BASF. Dat is geen koekjesfabriek, zo laat hij vaak vallen. Dat geloof ik best. In een koekjesfabriek is het nogal onwaarschijnlijk dat je anderhalf uur in een wolk van benzeen werkt. Daar druppelt er ook geen vreemde vloeistof uit een ton met een groot doodshoofd erop op je schouder.

Hoe dat kan? Het vriendje werkt eigenlijk bij een onderaannemer van BASF. De veiligheidsnormen voor de onderaannemers zijn veel minder strikt en de arbeiders bij BASF laten hen vaak de rotklusjes opknappen.

Het lief van zus 2 haalt zijn schouders op, maar kijkt ernstig. "Als ik later ziek word, kan ik onmogelijk bewijzen dat het door het werken in de fabriek komt." Dan is het maar te hopen dat hij nooit ziek zal worden...

Sinds maandag weet ik het. Ik ben nu namelijk zelf een mens met twee gsm's. Uit eigen ervaring kan ik zeggen hoe dat voelt: best kut (sorry, teveel in Goedele gelezen vandaag).

Het zuigt om twee gsm's te hebben, vooral omdat de tweede in mijn handen is geduwd opdat ik altijd beschikbaar zou zijn voor het werk. Gelukkig is het ding tot nu toe redelijk stil gebleven. Vanochtend kreeg ik pas mijn eerste telefoontje, vijf minuten voor ik naar het werk wou vertrekken.

De crisis was al bij al snel opgelost, maar ik hoop niet dat het een gewoonte wordt. Zeker niet te vroeg in de ochtend. Altijd en overal de telefoon moeten opnemen is op zich al een opdracht voor mij. Meestal check ik mijn eigen gsm maar een keer in de vier uur, soms zelfs een etmaal niet.

Ben ik trouwens belachelijk als ik vind dat er voor deze bereikbaarheid iets tegenover moet staan? Een premie, recuperatiedagen of gewoon een 'dankjewel Bie, blij dat je in ons team zit'? Ja, ik ben gefrustreerd over mijn werk en hoe ze daar vinden dat werknemers alles moeten over hebben voor hun job.

Ik houd werk en vrijwilligerswerk (zoals deze zondag nog op de cultuurmarkt in Antwerpen) liefst gescheiden. Grrrmbl...

PS: Nog geen nieuws op het sollicitatiefront. De brieven zijn verstuurd, maar voorlopig nog niets positiefs teruggekregen. Duimen jullie mee?

Non aspetto oltre, sbatto in prima pagina il mio ultimo lavoro concluso ieri, una baguette farcita di nutella (slurp!), attenzione perciò.... guardare sì, toccare sì, ma schiacciare NO!

Totdat ik zo'n vervelende pijn in mijn benen krijg, net alsof ik 's nachts kramp in mijn benen heb gehad. Al haast ik me dan naar de drinkwaterkraan en gooi ik gauw drie glazen achter elkaar naar binnen, dat lastige gevoel in mijn benen verdwijnt niet meer.

Misschien moest ik een post-itje tegen mijn scherm plakken of een knoop in mijn zakdoek leggen?

Moesten we nog maar net het vuur ontdekt hebben en op mammoeten jagen, had ik vandaag iemand met een knots de kop ingeslagen. Helaas leven we in min of meer (post)moderne tijden en verbijt ik mijn frustratie, ventileer ik mijn woede bij een paar lieve collega's en breng ik een paar websites een bezoekje.

Gelukkig is het weekend. Eindelijk.
