Earlier this week I watched Man On Wire, an excellent documentary about a French performer who ran a wire between the towers of the World Trade Centre and walked between the two in 1974. It's one of the more inspiring films I've seen, encouraging people to take life by the balls and really live. 

It sparks a couple of interesting questions though. What really makes us feel alive? Obviously answers are going to be pretty personal, but it strikes me that people go through life so fast that we never stop and ask themselves this question. In my old job I met countless students who were at university studying generic degrees as a default life path, aimlessly 'studying' english, history, geography, only to graduate and find work in middle management for a multinational bank or insurance company or something equally dull.

This isn't to say that these folk aren't simply working to fund a driving passion, but sadly in most cases, I doubt it.

I'm not saying there aren't people impassioned by these subjects - I have a great friend who is enraptured by English Lit - but, i fear that multitudes are living a life they never dreamed.

What do we dream? If we slowed down enough to ask, what would we find actually drives us?

What makes you really feel alive?

With my tongue a little in cheek, I posted a simplistic response...World War 2 was entered into under a Democratic President, the Korean Conflict was entered into under a Democratic President (and ended under a Republican), Vietnam was entered into under a Democratic President (and ended under a Republican). I neglected to put the first Gulf War down though I should have but my point was - the Dems have had their fair share of entering wars and Republicans have ended them....I really don't think party has anything to do with it.

I made a comment about the WTC being attacked under President Clinton's watch...because as we know, most people want to blame everything that's wrong today on President Bush.

Another person on the Obama side was frustrated because those of us who were not for Obama were not being "objective" and were "biased" and "ill informed" (see previous blog for my rant on that.) The person said "Please can we stick to serious informed dialogue?" She demanded facts with footnotes...

So I asked her if she denied anything I posted about the Presidents and war ....asked her if she denied that it was under a Dem that the WTC was attacked.

This was ignored because I was being "sarcastic" and "attacking." (Okay.) Until today.

Someone else said they were disputing my factoid that the WTC was attacked under Clinton; it occurred in 2001, only seven years ago. Well, at least he/she has some math skills.

I guess the February 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center doesn't count because "only" six people were killed. It doesn't count because it didn't succeed in destroying the Towers. It "only" hurt 1,000 people...

No, actually it "didn't count" because it was forgotten. Or maybe never even known about (Not sure how old this person is....but supposedly everyone on this forum is at least 18...or should be.)

This is sad. The US targets were actually attacked several times under the Presidency of Clinton. It's very easy to forget what led up to 9/11 and blame G.W. Bush for the entire mess, but it's not accurate or even fair. Terror attacks have been ongoing for decades.

That there are people out there who don't remember something as traumatic as the 1993 bombing in New York City scares me....those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it - how true it is.

Roosevelt, now years out of office, vented his frustration that then-President Wilson had offered Colombia more than $20 million in restitution for America's appropriation of the Panamanian isthmus in a letter to an old Panama Canal supporter Philippe Bunau-Varilla:

One of the rather contemptible features of a number of our worthy compatriots is that they are eager to take advantage of the deeds of the man of action when action is necessary and then eager to discredit him when the action is once over.

So here we are again looking down the barrel of yet another 9/11.

I forgot about it last year – probably because I’ve got the luxury of not having lost someone that day in NYC. This morning, though, I re-connected in an unexpected way:

Bella hopped out of the truck and navigated her way to the crossing guard, then across the street, up the stairs, and into her school. As I watched her disappear, the other children weaved in and out of the driveway, saying goodbye to their families and bus drivers.

The crossing guard blew his whistle.

The horns honked.

And even though I’ve seen it all a million times before, this morning I couldn’t help but sit there and cry as I watched the old man, who always walks with his grandson to the edge of the block, kisses him goodbye, and waves until the boy is gone. This was because ten year-old Frankie DeVito’s voice was in the background, filling the airwaves of NPR’s StoryCorps with his memories of losing his grandpa when the towers fell.

"We used to play Peter Pan. We used to use the screwdrivers as swords and pretend I was, like, Peter Pan, and he was, like, Captain Hook.

He always used to be in the garage fixing up things with Cousin Mikey, and he also promised me he'd take me to his work once, but that's not gonna happen."

(Toward his mother) "I didn't know that something happened until I came into the living room, and you were upset. You said there was something wrong with Papa."

(This is where he begins to cry.)

"It made me scared.

I remember Mikey told me that planes crashed, and he wasn't coming back."

(Voice cracks and he stops to cry.)

Frankie's Mom (Diana DeVito): Is there anything you did that made you feel better, that helped you get to sleep at night?

He answers:  Going up to Grandma or to my parents, giving them a hug, and resting on their shoulder. And sometimes...run into my room and I'd pretend that Grandpa was right there and nothing was wrong and my teddy was right there, so that helps me.

Frankie's Mom: Do you think you're different now than before because we lost Papa?

Frankie: Yeah, I think I'm different because being at certain places when I'm at a happy time, just somewhere in my mind...he won't get out of there. He's just stuck in my mind and that makes me a little sad everywhere I am.

And I have dreams with him. I always imagine us, like, seeing each other again and being really happy as a family without being sad or anything on September 11th.

(Then Frankie's voice trails off...)

I love you, and there's no other grandfather I'd rather see than you.

Dear Frankie,

Not every ten year-old boy can claim to have super powers, but you can. Your story is so brave and strong and honest and big and bold that it made it ALL the way into my car's stereo in Dallas, Texas. And if that's not enough, it made me grateful for some folks I should see more often in my life, but don't because I have it stuck in my head that they'll just be around forever. 

I am really sorry about your Grandpa. When you talked about the screwdriver sword fights, you made me wish I'd had a grandpa like yours. He sounds like he was a lot of fun. I know it's gotta hurt you and your mom and your cousin Mikey a lot not having him with you like before. I'll bet someone's told you this already, but when you tell your story, it helps people like me, who didn't lose someone special when the planes hit the towers, understand a little what you and your family have to face every day. See, I know you probably couldn't imagine, but some of us have started to forget exactly how rotten that day was. I don't want to be one of those people. 

You painted a picture with your words for me of your grandfather. I didn't know him, but now I know who he was. 

I'll light a candle for him next week, and one for you, too, Superhero Frankie DeVito. Thanks, kid. :)

Der 11. September - Das Geheimnis des dritten Turmes Film von Mike Rudin und Christoph Röckerath

Er gilt als eines der letzten großen Geheimnisse des 11. September: der  Einsturz von Gebäude 7 des World Trade Center. Von außen scheinbar kaum beschädigt, fällt das Hochhaus knapp sieben Stunden nach den beiden Zwillingstürmen in sich zusammen, ohne dass es von einem Flugzeug getroffen wurde. Der Wolkenkratzer kollabiert in wenigen Sekunden, symmetrisch, "sauber" - als wäre er von Abbruch-Profis gezielt gesprengt worden.

Gebäude 7, das dritthöchste Haus des World Trade Center Komplexes, hatte 47 Stockwerke und  stand im Schatten der Zwillingstürme. Die Mieter: der Geheimdienst CIA, der Secret Service, das Verteidigungsministerium, die Börsenaufsicht und die Kommandozentrale der Stadt New York zur Abwehr von Terrorangriffen.

Kurz nach dem Einsturz werden die Trümmer des Hochhauses entsorgt. Der Stahl wird eingeschmolzen. Bis heute, knapp sieben Jahre nach den Ereignissen vom 11. September 2001, gibt es  keinen abschließenden Untersuchungsbericht zum Einsturz von World Trade Center 7. Die vorläufige offizielle These der zuständigen Behörde  NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) lautet: Brände, verursacht durch herabstürzende Trümmer der Zwillingstürme, haben das Gebäude geschwächt und führten letztendlich zum Einsturz.

Doch reichen brennende Büros aus, eine gewaltige Stahlkonstruktion zum Einsturz zu bringen? Bisher ist  kein vergleichbarer Fall bekannt. Gebäude 7 des World Trade Center in New York ist das erste und einzige Hochhaus aus Stahl, das aufgrund von Feuer zusammengebrochen ist.

Für die Anhänger der zahlreichen Verschwörungstheorien zum 11. September 2001 spielt das WTC 7    eine wichtige Rolle. Wurde das Gebäude  gesprengt, um Beweise zu vernichten? War das WTC 7 die Kommandozentrale der "wahren Täter" des 11. September? Wurden von hier aus die Flugzeuge in die Zwillingstürme gelenkt?

Für eine Gruppe von Architekten, Ingenieuren und Wissenschaftlern ist der Einsturz des WTC 7 die "Smoking Gun", der schlagenden Beweis, dass die Anschläge des 11. September Teil einer großen Verschwörung der US-Regierung sind. Die "Architekten und Ingenieure für die Wahrheit des 11. September" meinen, dass die offizielle Erklärung, ein gewöhnliches Feuer hat zum Einsturz  des Gebäudes geführt, ausgeschlossen ist. Sie  behaupten, das Gebäude sei gezielt zerstört worden.

Im Rahmen der Dokumentation, einer Koproduktion der BBC und des ZDF, sind die Autoren  vielen Spuren nachgegangen. Zahlreiche Experten und Zeugen kommen zu Wort.

Darunter Barry Jennings, der als letzter aus dem brennenden WTC 7 gerettet wurde, sowie der ehemalige New Yorker Feuerwehrchef Dan Nigro, der seinen Männern frühzeitig den Befehl gab, sich vom Gebäude zu entfernen.

Inzwischen steht der immer wieder verschobene Abschlussbericht des "National Institute of Standards and Technology" (NIST) kurz vor der Veröffentlichung. In der Dokumentation "Der 11. September - Das Geheimnis des dritten Turmes" gibt der Chefermittler Dr Shyam Sunder schon vorher Auskunft.

For months now, I have found myself in a difficult position. No matter how much I try to explain the details of the 9/11 official story that are simply impossible, the conversation inevitably comes back to a few basic questions. These questions are not based in facts, or data, or physical evidence, but instead, what most would refer to as common sense. Unfortunately, while extremely common, there is nothing sensible about these “opinions” when viewed with a little perspective, and so I would like to try to provide just that, a little perspective, and maybe finally put these unsupported objections to rest.  The first question that inevitably comes up when initiating a new person to the extensive evidence which suggests actual participation by factions in the government and/or local administrations or businesses in 9/11 is:

1)  How could they keep it secret? It would require the complicity of hundreds of people to orchestrate, execute, and cover-up such an attack People talk, and SOMEONE would inevitably come forward.”

 This question has two parts. First is the suggestion of a huge conspiracy being necessary. Second, that given a large conspiracy, someone would inevitably talk.  As for the first part, the actual number of people who would need to know the true details and scope would be very few. A couple generals, a few Neo-con cabinet members, a Governor, a couple people high up in the FBI and a couple small teams on the ground, (idealy foreign nationals with phony ID who could simply be deported if caught) to set the demolitions and fly the planes.  Hundreds more might know a small piece, and might very well be suspicious, but not suspicious or courageous enough to risk losing a job or better yet imprisonment for those with secret clearance, just to voice a suspicion.  And frankly, several small players have come out, and have immediately been dismissed as disgruntled or loonies. There simply is no evidence to suggest that the number of players who truly knew what was really happening would be more than a just handful. And the complicity would not necessarily be obvious, and could easily be hid in a veil of feigned incompetence, the catch-all excuse for all modern political devastation.  It should be highly suspicious that NO ONE was penalized, fired or prosecuted for the “Failures” of 9/11. This is standard procedure in a major cover-up, unless of course it can be easily pinned on one patsy. Such was not the case here. 

The more troubling question is, how people could be found to execute the planting of explosives, the piloting of the planes, maybe even with an end result of personal suicide (although it is more likely the planes were remotely piloted.)  But one only needs to look at history to find an answer.  One problem with this argument is it assumes, because WE consider the murder of 3000 in the WTC attack to be an evil thing, that it is implicitly so to everyone. But we need to remember that the authors of the PNAC papers may truly BELIEVE what they say.  They may truly believe that America’s only hope for survival at the level of dominance and consumption we now enjoy is through military world domination, starting with the Middle East. They could believe it with fervor. And it is also easy to assume that there are other “patriots” who agree with them completely and love America enough to commit such an atrocity to protect America’s future.  Ever heard the term “collateral damage”?

Did Hitler think he was doing wrong?  Highly doubtful.  Did Saddam? Unlikely. They believed what they were doing was in the best interest of their people, as twisted as their logic may have been, and that is precisely what we are likely facing with 9/11.  I do not believe it would be even difficult to find hard-line American loyalists who could be convinced that control of the middle-east was imperative, and that the WTC complete collapse was the necessary spark. Numerous Generals during the cold war considered a nuclear first-strike a legitimate strategic choice, to the tune of tens of millions of “collateral casualties”.

Once you are dealing with people content with murder for the “good of the country” the question of why they wouldn’t talk about it becomes silly. They do not tell because they are Patriots, deluded as they may be.  And there are plenty of military men who sacrifice 3000 men in a blink to attain an important military objective. The suggestion that such “military leaders” would draw a clear distinction between soldiers and civilians is patently absurd. Just look at the respect they show for the lives of the civilians in Iraq. The estimate of civilian casualties in Iraq is now over 500,000.   3000 Americans is a drop in the bucket to achieve world domination.  Particularly disturbing is the verified BBC story of the “Arab looking men” with a white van seen dancing and yelling joyously while witnessing  the collapse of the Twin Towers and their subsequent arrest and later positive identification as Mossad agents. They were immediately deported back to Israel without as much as a thorough interrogation not to mention a legitimate investigation. The "Dancing Israeli’s"  only answer when asked what they were doing and why they were here was “to document the event”.  If so then how did they know it was going to happen?  But this illustrates the potential value of having foreign nationals do the ground work, in that not only would foreign agents hold little concern for American “collateral damage” in the same way many Americans view the dead in Iraq, but foreign agents, if caught in any stage of the operation, could simply be quietly deported as were the “Dancing Israelis” (as they were referred to in the BBC report), and not a word would be said about it further to protect an “ally”. I am not suggesting Israel was involved, but this report is very bizarre and creates many questions…

An interesting historical example of a false flag operations is the case of attack on the USS Liberty in 1967, in which it is now public knowledge based on a published eye-witness account from an American plane suppressed for decades, that the USS Liberty was attacked by, strangely enough, Israeli planes, with the clear intent of killing all aboard to eliminate witnesses, and then use it as a false flag operation, i.e. blame the attack on someone else. And it was blamed on someone else for decades. More important, however, was Lyndon Johnson’s alleged reply. So to summarize, the number of people necessary to actually know what was really happening could be very small, and the ones who executed it could not only be loyal to the cause and believe it absolutely necessary for America’s future, but they could even be foreign nationals, who also believe it as necessary for their countries survival, while holding far less concern for foreign casualties.  And none would likely talk, even if captured.   

2) “The Government has demonstrated they are far too incompetent to execute such a complex operation.”

This statement is based on a false assumption, namely that just because the Bush administration has demonstrated gross incompetence to the level of absurdity, that it is indicative of the American government as a whole.  While it is quite true that many aspects of our government are incredibly inefficient and inept, this is simply not true of our military.  The modern US military is extremely effective, and demonstrated that in the  overwhelming military victories in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Notice I said victories, because that is precisely what they were. Stunning victories. The Soviet Union fought the “freedom fighters” in Afghanistan for a decade with no success, and the US overwhelmed them in a matter of weeks. But these “victories” were limited to the actual Military operations. What now exists in both countries, and is being foolishly dumped on the US military’s shoulders, are police actions, not military operations, and the military is not really effective for such missions. In situations such as Iraq, police actions can only work when set against a framework of constructive efforts for and by the the Iraqis, and that simply never happened due to horrendous choices and failures by the administration, but NOT the military. Choices so bad that they suggest intent. I am not defending the military, or their conduct of the occupation, but their conduct of the WAR was superlative. 

That being said, the US military is absolutely capable of planning and executing such an operation flawlessly, and there are without a doubt factions at the top of the military establishment who agree with PNAC and their goals. And thus, the only other thing necessary, is to find a few “Patriots” who can keep their mouths shut.   Again, it is not necessary for the entire Military brass to know or agree, or even the entire Bush administration.  In fact, only a couple people in each group would have to know. The rest would be left to suspect, and fear for their lives, careers, or reputations with no real proof of anything.

3) “I can’t believe they would do such a thing.”

This is the final refuge of the serial disbeliever. A generalized value judgment of the US government establishment as a whole.  But again, this is simply not based in fact and history paints a far different picture.

False flag operations have been used by the United States on numerous occasions over the last 2 centuries. In fact, if you actually analyze all of the wars the United states has been involved with in the last 2 centuries, you will find that the MAJORITY of them, were started over US false-flag operations.  Even the Gulf War 1, and the suggestion that Saddam had massed troops and tanks on the Kuwait border has come into question from Russian Spy Satellite Photos showing NO armies whatsoever at the time of Americas “rescue” of Kuwait.  One must remember that Satellite photos were the only hard evidence presented by the Bush Sr. administration in it’s case for the attack of Saddam.  That and claims of Saddam murdering babies by a Iraqi expat, claims which were later completely discredited. Once the US began amassing troops in Kuwait to attack Saddam, he of course he would move troops to the border in preparation, but again, while Russian photos can not be considered proof,  there is evidence that even this war was a false flag. But again, a Majority of the US wars have been started over false flag operations.  Do the research and it is clear that not only would the “Government” do such a thing (or at least factions within the government) but they have, many times, and they successfully kept the operations secret from the American public for many decades after. 

It is now clear that insiders in the Roosevelt administration knew of the impending Pearl Harbor attack almost a day in advance, but issued no warning to Pearl Harbor. Apparently they felt they needed major casualties to fire sufficient outrage in a fiercly isolationist US, and a warning would have prevented all but just a few.  It is now also known that the US provoked the Japanese to attack, by cutting off their oil supplies and other essential resources in a secret embargo. We forced their hand, ignored the warnings, and our first Pearl Harbor came to fruition.  But the history of false flags is a long one.

Inarguable problems with the Official Conspiracy Theory…

So much for these “common sense” objections… Now let’s get into the facts of the 9/11 case and the inarguable evidence of complicity in the attacks from parties within the US government or others besides 19 Arab “terrorists”…

1) Freefall collapse…

This issue, while being possibly the most persuasive argument for controlled demolition of the WTC towers, is also one of the hardest for non-scientific people to understand. It makes sense to them on a superficial level, but the math and science involved makes it appear too easy to tweak or adjust to fit a conspiratorial hypothesis. But in fact the opposite is true. The official Conspiracy Theory is completely based on explanations created to support the pre-existing conclusion…that Plane impacts and fire brought the buildings down.

The problem is, the issue of freefall collapse is one that cannot be tweaked. It is absolute, immutable.  The buildings collapsed so quickly, that the roofs would have hit the ground in roughly the same time as a ball bearing dropped in free air would do so. For the 1360 foot tall WTC towers, that freefall time in a vacuum is 9.2 seconds (you can calculate it yourself from the formulae T(time) = Square root of the D(distance) divided by ½ G (acceleration of gravity or 32.2 f/s/s (feet per second per second))  and would be slightly slower in air. The WTC towers are said by the 9/11 Commission to have collapsed in 9 and 10 seconds respectively.  This implies that when the fire zone support failed and the top section of the buildings began to fall, they managed to plow through 70-80+ floors COMPLETELY UNIMPEDED, at the speed that a steel ball bearing would fall the same distance in free air,  and this is absolutely impossible for a several reasons.

The first is conservation of momentum.  If we were to envision the Towers as 110 individual floors of mass X (since each is roughly identical,) and they were suspended magically in the air 12 feet apart, and the top 20 or so floors then as a unit began to fall (at the fire zone) and strike the lower floors successively,  the following would apply. The top 20 floors (for example sake) of mass 20X  would begin to accelerate at 32 f/s/s and would reach roughly a speed of 27 f/sec when it struck the first floor X (floor 90). The resultant Mass of the new falling mass would be 21X and the resultant velocity would be the fraction 20/21 of the original velocity or 25.7 f/sec.  This would continue down with each collision giving a resultant velocity of  Vr=Vi* Ft/Ft+1 or 21/22nds, then 22/23rds, etc etc. and each collision would impose a reduction in the resultant velocity of the falling mass necessary to instantaneously accelerate the next struck floor from stasis to that resultant speed.  While the calculus necessary to actually solve this problem is very complex, the construction of the problem is not, and when solved, the result is an increase in the freefall time of roughly 40% or 3.6 seconds. A white paper outlining this calculation performed by a BYU mathematician regarding Building 7 can be found on the website www.Journalof911studies.com 

What is important to remember is that this calculation implies that even in a VACUUM,  and assuming absolutely NO structural resistance imparted by the roughly 1 billion pounds of columns and beams, and simply considering the effects of conservation of momentum of the Mass itself, the collapse would have to take at least approxinately13-14 seconds.  Now when the structural resistance is considered, and the FACT that with each successive floor struck by the falling mass, the columns and beams beneath it would have to be snapped, sheered and shattered to permit the mass to continue through, this structural resistance would have to be HIGHER than that imparted by the momentum, being the inertial resistance is effectively the static load, and would have to be at least equal the force of gravity acting upon it. In fact the structures were over designed to the tune of 5 to 7 times to account for wind shear, and hence this structural resistance would have to have slowed the fall at LEAST as much as the conservation of momentum would and more likely significantly more.

Another factor not considered is that observed phenomena of the pulverization of the concrete floors. Virtually NO concrete was found in chunks in the WTC debris. It was pulverized in a virtual pyroclastic cloud seen graphically in the videos. Not only does the pulverization of this concrete also extract energy from the only force acting on the debris, namely that of gravity, and effectively REDUCE the acceleration further, but it also dramatically increases the air resistance of all that concrete mass, arguably the single largest mass component in the building.  All that mass did not plow down through floors but billowed out in a cloud.  Even the steel columns, beams, and floor pans, as they demolished to a wave of falling debris, dramatically INCREASE  in their air resistance,  and would encounter substantial air turbulence slowing their decent slightly more.  

Thus we see that EVERY factor in the collapse, while more difficult to accurately calculate than the conservation of momentum one presented here, still consistently and pervasively resists the collapse, and increases the time necessary well beyond the 13-14 seconds we have already mentioned.

THIS IS INARGUEABLE. Any physicist, who claims otherwise can be assumed to either be an idiot, a liar, or simply incompetent.  Now I do not claim that my analysis or the falling times are precise, but they are inarguable proof that the WTC towers could not collapse in 9 and 10 seconds respectively without explosives being used to remove the underlying support structure. It is IMPOSSIBLE.

2) Molten Steel in the basements..

There have been numerous eye witness accounts and pictures of huge pools of molten metal, glowing red discovered in the basements of the WTC towers, not only buildings 1 and 2 which had jet fuel fires, but also building 7 which did not, and which, right up to the moment of collapse, showed very limited fires and little structural damage.

The very fact that this molten metal glowed red, overcomes the first explanation; that is that it was molten aluminum from the Jets, (since molten aluminum does not glow red but retains its silver color even when liquid.) And that simply would not explain it’s presence in the basement of building 7. This metal was still red hot (implying a temperature of well over 1000deg f) and in fact was in some places running and dripping in a fully liquid state of 2700 degrees (for Iron), weeks later when the debris pile was finally removed.

The suggestion that this molten metal was from the steel beams melted by the fires is patently absurd, for while is can at least be argued that Jet fuel, aka kerosene, could under ideal circumstances heat steel to a point of loosing some of it’s strength, it is patently absurd to suggest it could MELT steel at almost 3000 deg F.  Yet that is precisely what was found in the WTC basements, molten Iron, and this amazing detail was never mentioned in any official report.

There is one answer that perfectly explains the presence of this molten metal (I say “metal” because while we can assume given the description of glowing red, it was some iron based metal,) and that is the use of Thermite.

Thermite is a compound used in controlled demolitions to cut steel. It consists of Iron Oxide (rust) and fine Aluminum powder, and when ignited burns at several thousand degrees and can rapidly melt steel. The by-product of a Thermite reaction is Aluminum Oxide, visibly seen as a white smoke, and pure molten Iron.  Thermite, and it’s more powerful sulfur laced cousin Thermate, perfectly explain both the freefall problem AND the pools of molten iron in the basements. That Iron was a combination of cut steel columns, and the iron by-product of the Thermite or Thermate that did the cutting.  This supposition is supported by the forensic research conducted by BYU Professor Jones on samples of slag taken form WTC steel debris set in several 9/11 monuments around the New York Area. These samples had little or no chromium, Commonly found in structural steel, and yet trace amounts of sulfur and manganese, both highly detrimental to steel, but neccesary components to make Thermate cut steel better than standard Thermite.  While this is not proof, it is extremely compelling forensic evidence that could convict someone in a common murder trial. None of it was even discussed in ANY official investigations.

3) Pentagon Hole

After the 9/11 attacks, it was a couple years before I became suspicious of the official story. It hit me like a brick, when I happened to look at an email from someone I barely knew, that showed a small hole in the front of the Pentagon. It suggested this was one of the only pictures of the damage prior to the roof collapse since shortly after the “attack” the area was sealed and no photographers were allowed in.  Within hours, all the video from dozens of cameras from stores, hotels and other businesses surrounding the pentagon were seized by the FBI and have never been released, and the FOIA requests have been denied with “National Security” as the reasoning. What have they to hide?

Could it be that when one looks at the picture of the Pentagon Hole, and gauges it by the size of the windows, one sees that the hole was at best 16 feet across, just slightly larger than the fuselage of a 757?  But what is more interesting is that there are intact windows on each side, specifically where the 9’ tall, 4 ton engines would have struck, as well as where the 40 foot tail would have hit. Where did 120 feet of wings, 8 tons of engines, and a 40 foot tail go? Into a 16 foot round HOLE?

In a moment I knew, that if this picture was legitimate, the official story was a lie. I have subsequently proven to my satisfaction; through research and even a conversation with the well respected 25 yr. freelance D.C. news videographer who took them, that the pictures were real, and that the hole was not made by a 757. So what then? The entire story began to unravel for me…

It is unfortunately far too easy to allow healthy skepticism to prevent us from approaching this information with an open mind. I am fortunate to have scientific training and education that provides me a very clear, science based, unemotional perspective on this information,   but one thing should be clear to any intelligent, caring American: The WTC towers could not collapse in 10-11 seconds without explosives (Thermate etc..) and the hole in the Pentagon was not made by a 757.

EVERYTHING else is secondary.  If these two things are true, then there MUST have been collusion by SOMEONE in the US besides the 19 “Arab terrorists” and we MUST reopen the investigation and find out what actually did happen and who was responsible. We must show this case the same judicial diligence we would show a common murder.   It will no be easy as much of the physical evidence from WTC was immediately sent to China for recycling. But we must honor the dead by doing everything possible to get to the truth of that terrible day, no matter where it leads.  If the perpetrators are allowed to get away with this, they WILL do it again.

I'm not in a celebratory mood though. Never been. The Filipino tradition of holding a bash or at least having a get together meal is alien to me. The last time I had a birthday cake was when I turned one or two. I can't really remember for obvious reasons. My family was simply not into celebrating except during the Holiday Season.

I never resented this fact, however. We're not moneyed, and I can't blame my parents if their idea of avoiding unnecessary spending back then includes skipping a birthday bash and not doling out pricey gifts. We go to Church instead to thank God for the blessings of the past year and share a simple meal at home. Spartan? Amish? Works for me.

I've had some memorable gifts though. I remember on my 5th birthday, my dad gave me a huge, hardbound book with out-of-this world illustrations of aliens and spaceships and weird landscapes. It was called - you guessed it - the Alien Book and I never saw anything like it. The painted pictures were hyper-realistic and a true feast for the eyes although I never really sat down to read the stories which mentioned some of the hardest words to pronounce and read for a five-year old.

On my 11th birthday my dad brought me to the second-hand book heaven called Recto and there he bought me a three-inch thick illustrated book on Biology, plus an old 1970's edition of NatGeo magazine and a broken Volume of Encyclopedia Britannica (Letter "A", 1967 edition).

Those were some of the best gifts I ever had. I gladly devoured them from page to page. I would sometimes skip meals and "valuable" play time just to read those books. I still have them up to now, intact albeit in a state of deterioration.

Reading stuff aside, one of the best (and by far, the most expensive) gifts I ever had is a special edition Swatch Skin Watch given to me by my wife five years ago, when our relationship was just a few months old. This gift totally caught me by surprise since I was not even asking for anything for my birthday, as was, and still is my custom. The next year, she gave me a full size coffee table book on Andres Bonifacio and the Philippine Revolution. With such exquisite detail and illustrations, I was hooked on big, thick books all over again.

Still, I never thought of my birthday as special for whatever reason. I think the honors belong to those whose birthdays fall on December 25 and January 1 because the whole world will join them in merriment for the rest of their lives. The drawback of course is the ever-constant threat of receiving just one gift for one's birthday and the holidays combined. Happy parents. Shortchanged kids.

When I was in 2nd year high school, there were 4 of us in the class who share the same natal day. When we got together to chat we shared virtually the same memories on our day of birth: torrential rains and floods that made it impossible to go somewhere and have fun. I think most other people born on the same day in Manila will have the same somber, gloomy observation.

There are a lot more reasons to remember September 1 though. Some of them were good but most were tragic. For some strange reason, huge, earth shaking events (literally and figuratively) happen on the 1st of September throughout recorded history. Here's to name a few:

Mohammed Atta, the Egyptian terrorist who made history by ramming the first plane into the World Trade Center was born on September 1, 1967. As we all know by now, he crashed the plane (aka Flight 11) into the North tower on Sept. 11, just ten days after his birthday. The guy's obsession with the number 1 escapes me though. This is one guy I'm not proud to share a birthday with.

Overall September 1 has a lot more to do with deaths than births. There is a lot more reason to mourn than celebrate when this date is mentioned so don't ask why I'm in no mood to celebrate.

But then again, I just might be stingy:) hehe.

(P.S. While I was writing this, my wife knocked at the door and gave me a sumptuous choco caramel cake with a lit candle on top. Thank goodness it was just one candle, not 30.:))

I love art, and I love controversy, but not controversy for the sake of controversy. I don't see a purpose behind Stanley's work, and it seems pretty insensitive.

Nadie dentro ni fuera del gobierno de USA debería quedar exento de un proceso penal y de la aplicación de la pena capital por los ataques traicioneros del 9/11. A los que planificaron y participaron en los ataques del 9/11 dentro del gobierno de USA y sus cómplices no se les debe permitir protegerse detrás de la cómoda excusa de la “Seguridad Nacional”. La auténtica seguridad y la supervivencia de nuestra república dependen enteramente de esto.

Today I emailed a letter to Congressman Ryan and I thought I'd share it with you. Writing your representatives is a great idea. You can find your representatives by searching at the US House website, or the US Senate website.

Congressman Ryan:

While I am at odds with you on some issues, I see a genuineness in you that seems to be rare in the federal government and I have the utmost faith that you truly care about people. I lived in your district for a few years and I have seen you in action. That is why I write to appeal to you, to address the issue of the 9/11 investigation.

Several of your colleagues, including Congressmen Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, have publicly stated that they would support a new, independent investigation into the attacks of September 11, 2001. Much information has come to light in the last seven years to suggest that things did not occur the way it was portrayed to the American people.

There is a large and growing grassroots movement for 9/11 truth, started by the victim's family members and first responders, which is being portrayed in the media as an "anarchist group" by Geraldo Rivera. Morning Joe's Willie Geist said of a 9/11 truth protester, "the man [was] led away in handcuffs and hopefully taken to one of those secret prisons in Eastern Europe, never to be heard from again... I hope we have a special prison for 9/11 conspiracy theorists."

Michael Reagan said of Mark Dice's organization, which sends 9/11 truth information to the troops in theater, "we ought to find the people who are doing this, take them out, and shoot them... You take them out, they are traitors to this country, and you shoot them... But anybody who would do that doesn't deserve to live... I'll pay for the bullet... How about you take Mark Dice out and put him in the middle of the firing range, tie him to a post, don't blindfold him, let it rip and have some fun with Mark Dice."

All of this for simply petitioning our government for a redress of grievances. The US Government has done a total of ten investigations into the attack on Pearl Harbor, but the mere idea of asking for a second investigation into this attack on our country makes us traitors who deserve to be shot. I thought this was America. I thought it was patriotic for the people, who supposedly are the government, to ask questions and exercise oversight over our elected representatives. Is this not still a republic?

The notion that the official story, asserted by the 9/11 Commission, is not the full truth is certainly not a patent absurdity, nor is the theory that perhaps members of our own government had prior knowledge or involvement in the attacks of 9/11. US Government involvement in false flag attacks is, of course, nothing new. We have a history of staging attacks to start wars. A declassified NSA report confirms that the Gulf of Tonkin incident was a staged attack and that Vietnamese boats weren't even present on the 4th of August. In March of 1963, a plan was submitted by the Joint Chiefs of Staff to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, which describes plans to stage false flag terror attacks as a pretext to illegally invade Cuba. These plans included staging the assassinations of Cubans living in the United States, developing a fake "Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington,"including "sink[ing] a boatload of Cuban refugees (real or simulated)," faking a Cuban airforce attack on a civilian jetliner, and concocting a "Remember the Maine" incident by blowing up a U.S. ship in Cuban waters and then blaming the incident on Cuban sabotage. The United States was condemned by the World Court for international terrorism in Nicaragua. Even recently, Seymour Hersh exposed an idea by Vice President Cheney which he described in the following words: "Why don't we build, we, in our shipyard, build four or five Iranian boats, that look like Iranian PT boats, put Navy Seals on them, with a lot of arms, and the next time one of our boats goes through the Strait of Hormuz, start a shoot-up." This is all eerily reminiscent of Hitler's Reichstag fire.

So there is plenty of precedent for this alternate theory, but is there any evidence? It turns out that there is a plethora of evidence to disprove the official 9/11 Commission conclusion.

Dr. Steven E. Jones, retired professor of Physics at BYU, examined metal samples from the World Trade Center towers and found evidence of sulfur (which would indicate that thermate, a military grade steel cutting material, was present) and performed a study of the collapse of the towers and WTC Building 7, which was not hit by a plane, and was completely omitted from the 9/11 Commission report. Jones helped establish an organization dedicated to independent, expert research of the 9/11 attacks using the scientific method. The organization now has over 500 members with backgrounds ranging from engineering to physics to aviation and has a wealth of information available to the public.

Simple common sense would indicate many problems with the official story. The 9/11 Commission claims that the jet fuel burnt long and hot enough to melt enough core columns in both towers to cause the floors to "pancake" down. This is obviously not true, as we would have seen a stack of pancaked concrete floor slabs after the collapse. The Law of Conservation of Momentum tells us that the collapse would slow as it progressed, as each successive floor would absorb more and more momentum, but in all videos, all three WTC buildings collapse at near free-fall speed. This would indicate that support, i.e. resistance, had been removed from under the collapsing floors. In a pancaking collapse, there would not have been enough energy to pulverize the concrete into the enormous clouds of dust we all witnessed. A pancaking collapse could not explain the embedding of a large chunk of one of the towers into WTC7, over 300 feet away. There is evidence of first responders, time and again, reporting secondary and tertiary explosions, explosions in the ground floor lobby, explosions in the elevator, explosions in the basement. NIST's recent report on the collapse of WTC7 admits that these three buildings, all on one day, became the only tall, steel-frame buildings in history to collapse as a result of fire. In October 2005, New Civil Engineer called into question NIST's computer models for the collapse of the Twin Towers.

A tape was released of firefighters just seven minutes before the collapse on the 78th floor, saying there were only two pockets of fire, and Chief Orio Palmer said, "we should be able to knock it down with two [hose] lines". Firefighter Brian Becker, Engine 28, stated, "So I think that the building was really kind of starting to melt. We were - like, the melt down was beginning. The collapse hadn't begun, but it was not a fire any more up there. It was like - it was like that - like smoke explosion on a tremendous scale going on up there." Firefighter Ed Cachia, Engine 53: "It actually gave at a lower floor, not the floor where the plane hit, because we originally had thought there was like an internal detonation explosives because it went in succession, boom, boom, boom, boom, and then the tower came down."

An FBI document, 199-Eye W.F. 213 589, stifled the FBI's investigation of two of bin Laden's relatives and their ties to terrorist organizations. In fact, the FBI's own website, on Usama bin Laden's Most Wanted Terrorist page, does not even claim he is responsible for the 9/11 attacks. BBC reported in September 2001, "Niaz Naik, a former Pakistani Foreign Secretary, was told by senior American officials in mid-July that military action against Afghanistan would go ahead by the middle of October."

Congressman, I could continue on with more and more evidence, and if you are interested in other leads and other facts, I will be happy to collate and provide them. However, I assume you have greater resources than I to gather such information. I will conclude this by simply requesting that you investigate this issue and imploring you to help fight so the victims of 9/11 can learn the truth and justice can be served.

I also hope the Congress will very soon embrace the idea of impeachment, not necessarily to pursue removal from office, but at least as a duty to history to get the lies and crimes of this administration in the Congressional record with an official inquiry. President Clinton was impeached for far less than what this President has done.

As a final thought, I have a question about your party's nominee for President in the 2008 election. Barack Obama's Foreign Policy Advisor is Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski was National Security Advisor to President Carter. During Brzezinski's term, we saw the transition of Iran to an anti-Western Islamic state and the arming of the mujaheddin in Afghanistan. He admitted that it was a lie when he claimed we started helping the mujaheddin after the Soviet invasion, and that it was designed to provoke such an invasion to cause a Vietnam-style war for them. Brzezinski is very hawkish, especially with Russia. How can we reconcile our want for the War in Iraq to end with voting for someone who has this guy as a Foreign Policy Advisor? Senator Obama has also called for sending troops into Pakistan. Obama also proposed a "civilian national security force", larger and more well-funded than the military. That sounds like an admission that the plan is a larger economic black hole than the War in Iraq. On top of this, he has voted to renew the Patriot Act, voted for FISA domestic surveillance, and voted to fund the war in Iraq. How can we trust and support such a candidate, a candidate from the party that campaigned two years ago on ending the War in Iraq, lowering gas prices at the pump, and holding the administration accountable, none of which has happened. I see you stand up continuously and admonish the administration, but as a whole the entire Congress has failed the American people in all these regards. We got a minimum wage increase, but with the dollar being debased by the Fed and the resulting economic downturn and price increases, we are generally in a much worse position than in 2006. Obviously we cannot support John McCain, a continuation of the abhorrent Neo-Conservative movement (who, ironically, lists Zbigniew Brzezinski's son as a campaign worker) that has been the Bush administration. I think the two party system has failed to produce a worthy candidate and it is time for those stand-up members of Congress, of which I count you as a member, to break with their party affiliations and become independent voices. What are your views on this stance and also on Chuck Baldwin as a presidential candidate?

As one can observe from the videos of WTC 7's collapse, shortly following the destruction of its penthouse structures, the building fell to the ground in 6.5 seconds. This is a phenomenally short time: a stone dropped from the top of the building would have reached the ground (covering a distance of 174 meters) in 5.95 seconds – if there were no air resistance! However, in principle the distance analyzed should be that from the top of the building to the top of the debris pile, not to the ground. As the exact height of the debris pile is not documented, it is more useful to examine the early stages of the collapse, during which the debris pile does not need to be taken into account.

According to the video analysis presented in the 9-11 Eyewitness documentary, starting from the state of rest, WTC 7 fell 100 meters in 4.5 seconds. This results in an acceleration of 9.8 m/s2, corresponding to a free fall.

To verify this, I examined the fall of a corner of the building in one collapse video using Blaze Media Pro video editing software. The corner fell 56 meters (=the distance between the Start and End lines in the animation below) in 3.47 seconds. This results in an acceleration of 9.3 m/s2, which corresponds to a very low resistance factor of the structural supports: only 5 percent of the force of gravity of the building's falling upper section.
